Regarding people who criticise, I have no idea how they have time to watch channels they DON'T like. I'm retired and struggle to keep up with the channels I do like!

This project financially in comparison is like buying a run down and dilapidated rather expensive Home/Estate and then Repairing and replacing Everything on youre own Dime and one's own Time. Then throw in the curve of the complexity of where the vessel is located and what methods and materials you have too use etc.... I really wish there was some Public interest locally from museums, societies or clubs lending helping hands for this Historical Vessel. If I havent said it lately Outstanding Work both of You.

I tune in everyweek and have nothing but admiration for the work you do on the challenge you have taken on. It is such a big job and would be mind numbingly repetitive for me. It is a testament to your dedication and your relationship. Obviously we don't see all the stressful conversations but the edited discussions show one of the strongest relationships I have witnessed working together and grafting together. I hope the boat is everything you want it to be when you have finished.

Don’t listen the bad comments ! What’s you’re doing is just wonderful : leading a long term project every week, restoring an old boat, pursuing the memory of a WWII vestige, being good example for young generation… those who are making criticism don’t know what is working, as you do. Good job guys 👏👏👏

I use to be a bricklayer and I now so appreciate people who work with their hands like you both do. You both face challenges on how to make certain repairs and si many are not the same type which makes this channel stand out. Gemma I noticed at one point Simon was given you a friendly hard time and you touched your face and gave him a discreet FRiENDlLY middle finger and I laughed out loud. I had another job where I had to edit videos for my work - 8 hours video required 40 hours of editing because certain actions needed to be shown. It was draining work and I appreciate your editing skills/art. I never had to lay down an overlay of music the way you do which means additional time - getting the music and then inserting it in - your editing is just amazing. I loved the shed build which is in addition to what your doing ship board. Just so appreciated the interior lighting and the red flooring. You have a lot of equipment from the old shop and it will be interesting to see what you do with it all. This is one of the best channels on UTube - I like when youhave sponsors because what is sponsored so works in with your real world work.

I watched this video and I wondered if you guys had considered that you would never have tried that internal plank repair a few years ago,, but there was Simon just tearing into it without a concern because of the confidence and knowledge that comes from all the skills you have both found bringing this old lady back from the dead. And despite all that you still let the trolls get under your skin Gemma? In my mind, you journey is up there with Steve building Arabella from scratch, because he wasn't a boat builder either and by far ahead of Leo with Tally Ho, because he is a trained boat builder with a large team to help him.... Stay safe scousers, much respect from Glasgow

Love you two and appreciate all the effort you put in, whether sheds or boats. I've really enjoyed seeing Simon become so comfortable with and in front of the camera. In the early vlogs Gemma was a natural but Si was nervous and took the spewings of haters and trolls to heart but now he has really blossomed and the way he explains his thinking to the camera is endearing. I feel he is talking specifically to me, like a funny, comfortable friend who doesn't care if you don't know a claw hammer from a ball peen hammer. Keep up the good work and never be discouraged. You guys do a fantastic job. It takes me back to the days I use to crew on the USS Turner Joy, DD951. To save you the time that is a destroyer, 410' long, 35' in the beam and 9,500 tons. Admittedly she is all steel no wood except for damage control shoring. Main deck and below was all steel. All verticals above main deck is aluminum. However, salt water and salt atmosphere keeps a crew busy so the lady shines. I think you all are doing fabulous, Calm winds and following seas mates.

Simon, regarding your disappearing drone, it was suggested on a recent episode of 'B is for Build' (where he is restoring his recently sunk Italian speed boat), that the magnetic field generated by the powerful engines had upset his drone on landing and take-off. I'm fairly certain that was where I heard it, but it may have been elsewhere? Still it may explain why your drone flipped over so unexpectedly? As to the 'armchair critics', I find you, as a long-term watcher, to be among the hardest working and constantly good-humoured people on 'the youtubes'. You do what you do with full committment, good humour, smiles and love. All while also bringing up two children! Well done guys.

You are making excellent progress, especially considering you are also videoing the work, not to mention building a new shed, maintaining your other boat and supporting your family. I have been around boats my whole life and there is one thing many people don't understand is there are long stretches of time where you will be working on a bat and it looks like you have done nothing in the build or repairs, but in fact you have. It is just not noticeable. And, in fact you have done a lot of stuff that is vital for the boat. So, don't let these people get under your skin. You are working hard on the boat, and you are doing this as something you chose, so you go at your own pace. If they are not into watching boat building/repair stuff, they need to watch something else. I find you hard working, entertaining and you have fun doing it, joking and teasing each other. I love watching you two!

There are a lot of RU-vidrs on here that have, or are redoing boats but very few match your gung ho approach to doing things. Some days it doesn't look like much was done but if you take into account how much planning and prep work there is a lot being done. Sometimes stuff just magically appears but we know that sometimes filming wasn't done and you both have worked hard to get where you are today. Sometimes I can't believe the amount of thought and work that goes into repairing your boat. There is a saying a Jack of all trades and a master of none, but in Simon's case he masters all the trades very well. Thanks for taking us along on your adventure !

Take no notice of the ridiculously negative comments, these people need to get a life. You just keep on doing what you do, it is both entertaining and enjoyable!

They obviously have no idea what a mental, physical, and financial mountain you both are tackling and as you stated, doing all that and filming! You both have my respect!!!!

Gemma and Simon are two of the most beautiful people in the world. If they had a Channel on understanding banana labels I would watch it. I love them.

This is always the first YT video I go to when I get back on Fridays. Just fascinated by the excellent progress you are making - both utterly awesome! Would love to spend a week working with you in summer, I can make tea ;)

Guys don't waste your time on the Bullshit from people that are in their basement just talking. Anyone with half a brain would know that you are not showing everything thing you are doing. That your documenting specific tasks. We love it and inspire others to get shit done.

Omg, the people who complain, I really could not be botherd. I was a Sailor on a Royal Navy ship....The Prep involved just to paint took a long while to do. YOU are doing great.

How's the pet seagull? Has he survived the winter? Loved the Shed build. I have 4 sheds and use felting for waterproofing. The oldest shed has been re-felted several times over the years and the felting is now an inch thick. Waterproofing and insulation in one hit! Simon will be pleased!

I really wonder if the people who say that you are slacking off are watching the same videos that I watch, from my point of view the on camera work, the behind the camera work, and taking care of a family is like working 3 full time jobs. You both are a prime example of hard working folks, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I look forward to seeing you enjoy the rewards of your efforts.

Great vlog as usual you two. The replacement plank side you did Simon was tremendous, a good fix without too much drama, well done. Your both doing a super job. Stay well.

just be yourselves , the ones complaining are 20 plus stones overweight and could not do a days work, much less keep up with you two. they did not build boats but models of boats if any. you two are fantastic work ethic and are the happiest couple on the tube.
