The chainlocker bulkhead, NEEDS something in a very BIG WAY!!!!!! Please use your deck beam mold to make another skinny replica of all the other beams all varnished up and attached to the bulkhead to look like another full beam. DO IT!!!❤
One of the oldest engineering jokes, Engineer to storeman "can i have a new file please"? Storeman "flat bastard"? Engineer "no, a round f**k*r will do".
LUVE YOU GUYS KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK I HAVE JUST WATCHED CRUISING THECUT FROM 2YRS AGO AND HAVE YOU REALISED HOW MUTCH YOU AND PARTICULARY GEMMA HAVE CHANGED LOOKS LIKE SHE HAS LOST WEIGHT AND ALLSO THE TOOLS YOU USED THEN ANYWAY KEEP IT UP .
It’s looking amazing. What a time it’s taken to get here. So much work but done amazingly. The love you have shown to get the old girl a new lease of life.
Simon, I know it's too late for these cut outs, but you really should make shallower cuts with the router, maybe do the cuts in two passes. Me personally, I'd do it in 3.
I bet you’re already ahead of me on this but many fires are caused by wood dust in a vacuum cleaner, hope it gets cleaned out regularly. Beams are looking great. I remember using tons of masking tape on deck beams, especially when you paint the underside of the deck! Hope you bought shares in scotch tape. Keep up the good work.
8:54 you could have a whole family of file types for different jobs. A 2 person operated file for really big jobs, a BIG bastard, one that’s only used rarely, LAZY bastard, one for wide jobs, a FAT bastard. Cheap ones that you use for jobs that you never intend to use a file for, ie tw*toting it with a hardened surface (😂😂😂😂), STUPID bastard 😂, another one that cost you a fortune and is always useless for the job you want, a THIEVING bastard. 😂😂😂😂. A file that is kept locked away in a cupboard marked GISM and hidden in case your wife finds it is a DIRTY bastard. A file that is secretly used by your next door neighbour when you are at work and put back before you get home, a CHEATING bastard. One that you buy from PoundLand but snaps on the first job, USELESS bastard, one that cuts too deep and takes too much wood out of the job, GREEDY Bastard. And I won’t mention the type of bastard that comes around your house and sells you some tarmac and does a shit job for cash and then disappears…. 😂😂😂😂😂😊 I’m sure there are many more 😂😂
1:40 you know, when you see how good that new beam shelf and all the ends of the frames, the gaps for the gunnel strips and the joints of the deck beams. It just looks incredible. When you look back to the first videos and seeing the first work carried out replacing the rotten frames, showing the rotten beam shelf it just seemed such an impossible task, I was thinking “where is the strength going to come from to hold together a ship that once had few structural members but now has many fractional parts. But the reality is, it’s probably a lot stronger and secure now than ever. I really don’t understand where you both get your inspiration and energy from, well I do but I’m blown away. Literally.❤❤❤
I was going to say it needs a bit of distress so it doesn't look like new, then you two said the same. Looking forward to seeing the ply on then her lines will jump out at us. Take care out there.
I guess really your "longitudinal" would be a stringer unless it surrounds supporting hatch or other opening or superstructure when it would be a carlin. A bastard is also a rasp as well as someone who steals your beer!
I just knew in my heart that it would take at least 2 more weeks to see a new deck but what the hell ....... carry on ! lol. I may never see her going to sea at my age but ive been here from the beginning so whats a few more years , right ! Are you replacing the anchor locker bulk head ?
Guys I know nothing about Saving a boat like this but if I was going to tackle it I think I would go about it exactly as you do as it seems so common sense. Admire your dedication and patience, you guys are unreal
