I can still picture it. Midnight on a hot Saturday night in July 1987. I keep my childhood bedroom radio on after my favorite weekly hip hop show on WERS-FM in Boston. The next show is the late night mix. And this kicks off the show. The full 12-inch. After it spins, the DJ comes on and chuckles out the name of the artist. Then he says, "I think this is house music." Less than a year later, I hear "Girl I'll Hose You" by the Jungle Brothers, and my introduction to house music is complete.
Being 57 yrs old i loved the house scene this, marshall jefferson, steve silk hurley farley jackmaster funk, masters at work, and yes am english just loved the vibe ❤

I'm 40 years old and I just learned uncle Chep Nunez was part of creating the song. His brilliance is missed. Literally one of my favorite songs and I just learned he was part of it. Wow! This song is brilliant. He is so missed💖💖

@@georgea.henryjr.5191 thank you it was a great performance they had some awesome dance moves the audience loved them and they loved them back . Also Bentley’s was an outstanding nightclub that would have live performances straight from the radio . I miss that nightclub.
There used to be an old old bootleg cassette tape of LARRY rockin this at The Paradise Garage and when the part came where she sings : BUT THEE ONLY WAY TO DO IT.....and he turns the volume DOWN and lets the crowd take it! ! ! ! ! IN - FUCKIN - CREDIBLE!!!! I really don't know WHY people put something up then a few months or whatever... take it down, there's SO MUCH PARADISE GARAGE music on here already.
While every humans POINT OF VIEW is different ,i can still say (imho) that if you weren't old enough to have been Clubbin when this was first out or the few years after ??? .... YOU MISSED IT !!! I lived at Tracks on Tuesday nights through Wednesday morning; then went straight to school...LOL...How I managed? I have no idea because I couldn't do that now... LOL
I more than likely first heard this in 1987 at the Roxy in Washington, DC. Sam "The Man" Burns (RIP) spun all the House you could want. Sunday nite was always lit. Probably cost $5 to get in.
@@gigihall5558 I AM from NY, and yes there was a Roxy in NY. However, there was also a Roxy in Washington, DC on Connecticut Ave. House Music every Sunday night.

Theres another interview with a dude that worked with RLA SOUND and he has worked on the PG system as well as Club Zanzibar, during the interview he said something about certain music's characteristics... CERTAIN SOUNDS HE LIKED AT THE PARADISE GARAGE BUT DIDN'T LIKE THEM SO MUCH AT ZANZIBAR... but here's the interesting part( to me anyway) CERTAIN SONGS SOUNDED BETTER AT CLUB ZANZIBAR!!! And understand 1000% what he meant, I've been to the PG just once but to ZANZ from 85 to 89 and can first hand attest to the dynamics of certain tracks, THE JUNGLE and TIME MARCHES ON by JUNGLE WONZ (to me) POPPED WAAAY HARDER at ZANZ, but tracks like LIZ TORRES' I CAN'T GET ENOUGH or DISTANT PLANET by FINGERS INC sounded better at the PG!!!
@@oryday1133 in 95 ,I remember like it was yesterday, got 'Music Mag' front cover 'David Cole dead 'the moment I saw that this track came in to my head , think I've still got that mag back at my mother's in the UK 😢
Funny how New Yorkers are proud of their legacy, 'originating House Music' as some would claim. But this sounded like an attempt to copy Chicago. The Club sound that Boyd and Timmy laid down, quite different from this early C&C track. In fact, for a long time, I thought this was a Chi Town track. Lol.
Larry Levan at The Paradise Garage used to kill this... me and my friends would hit each other on the arms so hard..when this played..in a frenzy...just lose our minds..omg Larry killed the EQ on this
Wit 2 PRs (Spanish Speaking Brothas), A Blackman (Non-Spanish speaking Brotha) and A Dominican (Another Spanish Speaking Brotha with an accent 😂) how could this NOT be The $H!! ?😂🔥💥😂

Not necessarily. Dominican is a nationality like American, Cuban or Puerto Rican. The Black man here is American David Cole, the 2 Puerto Ricans are Robert Clivilles and David Morales. The Dominican is Chep Nunez, he was born there.
