Never ever again will we see comic genius quite as amazing as the 2 Ronnie's.. Watching them work on a sketch is art.. It truly is. How well their chemistry is displayed is beautiful, everything in this sketch is absolutely flawless, the lines are delivered and flow through with pin point timing and accuracy. An absolute joy to watch the 2 greatest comedy icons in history ❤️👌
Comedy genius unsurpassed. They played and bounced off each other so effortlessly and brilliantly, with impeccable timing. The writing is just so tight too. Such fond memories and nostalgia of growing up with British talent and shows like this, throughout the 70s and 80s.
An Irish pub sketch by 2 British comedy legends. I'm Irish and i LOVE this. I got to see Ronnie Corbett perform in Dublin in 2005 not long before Ronnie Barker passed away.
The wallpaper sketch gets me every time. You can see the punchline coming from a mile off but RCs delivery is so sublime that it always sounds brand new! Two of the funniest men ever. I loved Morcambe and Wise but the Two Ronnies were leaps and bounds ahead!
I grew up watching the Two Ronnies..Absolute geniuses..Watching them again after such a long time shows how talented and far ahead of other comedians they were. So many little puns and jokes its hard to keep track and have a breather from the laughter!
I agree I’m only 12 but nothing nowadays will ever be able to compare to these 2. They weren’t just funny but they were damn right clever to be able to come up with this stuff
If you find this "genius", where does that put *_you_* in the scale of things? I for example find their humour clever, (or should I say Ronnie Barker's humour here since he was the one that writes, you know). Now, where does that put you in the food chain? Above protazoa. Well, that's something, I suppose. .
This has to be the best comedy duo that I have ever seen. It takes me back to my childhood Christmas TV and they still make me laugh the sad thing is they are no longer with us . God Bless Gentlemen.
adarsh kumar At least he can spell. And what's with the three full points at the end of your badly put together sentence? I won't call you an imbecile, it's rude. Though I'm sure it's more fitting in relation to the spelling of two and three letter words, than it is the understanding of spacetime.
I really miss this humour. Loved these guys, and as a kid learned how to laugh at myself through humour like theirs, which was shared at home with my mum and dad who had grown up with humour like this that got them through a world war. Thank you You Tube. I'm going in search of the Phantom Raspberry Blower of Old London Town now...
According to a documentary about Ronnie Corbet the other night. That sketch was written by Spike Milligan, who insisted on providing the ''RASBERRY '' noises. Well, he would wouldn't he? Another great OIRISH_BORN GENIUS.
I am so glad I grew up in an era of comedy where offending people was laughed at rather than banned and banter was allowed , and what an era it was. The two Ronnies were simply irreplaceable
I'm Irish and I'll take bets on how long it's take utube to delete it incase it offends the woke brigade and I'm not even talking about my own woke country men and women.
i remember this sketch as a kid , but the accents changes so much between them , from south to a broad derry accent , very funny . Its comedy Gold ish still ;)
If this isn't surrealism at work, I'll eat my hat. Bloody marvellous these two (not the clocks), but my soft spot always went to Barker. Corbett was very touching though, and he did recognise Barkers IMMENSE talent- he was unique. Comedy will never be the same without them. They made millions laugh, may they rest in peace and have pity for us being deprived. Comedy's dead.
Thomas Lobbett Naming someones name on youtube when you think they are smarter than you but you try to troll them knowing in your heart you're a fucking idiot. Fucking pathetic. Soxiety gone wrong.
In the valleys below.Having lived in Evesham for the past 6 years since 2011, it was nice chatting with a man from Chipping Norton where Renney Barker retired to and also where David Cameron lives, which is close to Roll right, where my wife and I counted the circle of stone,. Then looked down at the village Long Compton
Ronnie Barker, who wrote most of the scripts I believe, is IMO the greatest comedian of all time - pure genius! No so called comedian of today can even begin to compare they are so obvious and banal.
Absolutely brilliant! Now come on all you folk who thinks this sketch is racist because it's picking on the Irish, nothing could be further from the truth. It's a very clever sketch twisting the English language and most of the humour comes from the fact that these two guys seem to understand each other...whatever their race may be. Ronnie Barker in particular was a master of the spoonerism 😂😂
Christ, if you think this is racist you’re mental! I’m from the north east and I love it when comedians mimic the Geordie accent! It’s quite flattering really 😂😂😂
jammed packed with paddy me arse-isms :)) and to the rest of the world watching, that is actually REALLY (one of my own paddy me arse-isms) what its like to live here even in 2017 :) great sketch
Brian Kettlewell Brian the sheep have been cultivated by governments '''think as one'',political correctness, women's rights etc,but all combined,to make life unpleasant and for all to be victims,( compensations for hurt) these people and there agency's could not live in our parents and grand parents era, and look now pornography, sleaziness greed and political power pressure in every walk in our lives ,when I was at school, you the odd coloured child, some child was goofy, some dirty smelly ,hair like rats tails, but they had a heart of gold, yes you had the odd bully etc ,also we used to climb trees, get apples and just for the sake of it, just climb a tree, and we used to catch frogs, newts sticklebacks ,play football, just lark about ,now kids are brainwashed by drugs, alcohols, computer, tablet and latest Internet phones, remember film valley of the dolls, all blond haired children mind controlled,,,its the same on the bus train, etc phone, tablet in the hand, plus there was only two places you could alcohol, the pub and the club, and proper serving times, very little carried out in the off licence, due to family decency, government ruined that ,for all of there big boys, friends the ''supermarkets'' to put disrespect, law and order and civil and family decency at the bottom,,and that's where our great Britain is now,if you call a girl in a shop ,love ,darling sweetheart, petal,,you expect hey ''you can't say that''or bloody hell if you offer a sweet to any child''all of them things where never like that when I was a child a kid ,young boy' our country was built on blood sweat and tears, not fears, who would think a massive conglomerates would poison the water system, just to frack shail gas, well you know why ,so they have sell you WATER
Brilliant comedy, I love this, you can't slag off certain people or Counties these days or they call you racist and get hot and bothered , no sence of humour like Irish and English people anywhere else. 🇮🇪 🇬🇧
it's a shame the way the world has gone so P.C., I am Irish meself but that sketch is so funny, the Ronnie's were masters of this kind of comedy but as you said, these days they would never get away it, sad to say...
I'm Irish but find this sketch funny. The accents are shite though. The two Ronnies were brilliant. They wouldn't be allowed to do this sketch today because BBC would be scared of the easily triggered brigade. Rip Two Ronnie's.
easily triggered by doing fake Irish accents? Gimme a break man, cancel culture sucks but it definitely doesn't cancel people because they put on an Irish accent badly.
