Just absolutely brilliant. My Dad fell off the Sofa because he was laughing so much. He absolutely loved watching these 2. When you think of the crap these days nothing as good as this and Porridge and Open all Hours and only Fools and Horses, Morecambe and Wise, Les Dawson etc.
This had me rocking with laughter! The two Ronnies never fade, they're as brilliant and funny as they were back in the day. There is nobody to compare to them now.
Myat Htoo, Hello! Lucky you! Imagine all the wonderful hours of laughter you can look forward to! The 2.R's are always great, even after viewing them over and over. Have a great time and good wishes to you!
Squash is hilarious the salt is so real. Barkers comic writing and corbetts unrivaled timing make this arguably the greatest comic duo to ever grace tv. I grew up with them and its mortifying to know we have lost them both. Rip
Weird - I've loved & enjoyed the 2 Ronnies for years. Enjoyed many a repeat yet never seen Squash before today - here. Amazing why it's not shown more. I love the shute one too with Ronnie Barker working in the laundry department and Ronnie Corbett supposedly being thrown down the laundry shute. lol
Yes indeed a fact often overlooked was Ronnie Corbetts amazing timing. John Cleese said he learned more about comedy timing from Corbett than anyone else he ever worked with- high praise
I’m Irish and I worked with a Scottish guy in the US offices of a large UK company. At an offsite, one American colleague referred to a video used to help explain how easy it is to miscommunicate. She said that none of her American colleagues could understand what was being said. The Scottish guy turned around to me and whispered that it was the “Fork ‘Andles” sketch. I laughed so hard that the woman asked why…
I'm re-watching so many of The Two Ronnies' classic sketches. After each one I think, 'That's my favourite.' RIP Ronnie Corbett. Let's hope you're having a few jokes tonight with your mate.
AndrewofWare, I write this 6 yrs after your initial "2 Ronnies" comment. I just wanted to say "hello" to another lover of these 2 super chaps as well as telling you how touched I was by your words. Best regards!
I also grew up watching the The Two Ronnies, many happy memories, comic genius, especially Ronnie Barker, in the days when there was only 3 - 4 TV 📺 channels, thanks for the laughs
The last "Squish' sketch is very clever since extraordinary gifted people DO exist in the world, to the frustration of others. Most people have to work very hard at skills whereas some people with no experience at all seem to be born naturals. Great sketch !!!
Both comedy geniuses and like Milligan, Steptoe and, Dick Emery this was back in a time when you waited in anticipation for comedy shows. You knew the day, the time and, channel every week when these shows were on.Looking forward to them nights of humor every week which nowadays despite endless channels come few and far between.
The Fork Andles sketch is my absolute favourite, I remember watching it when It was first broadcast I was in stitches Ronnie Barker and Ronnie Cobert were legends Gone but never forgotten
These are my ultimate sketches by two of my favourite in the hall of comedy. They will be missed but they will live on. I always watched in the 1970's and 80's and beyond on their shows, and specials.
All this was shown on BBC when I was a kid, a particular favourite of my nan, the great days of BBC. The 'fork handles' sketch has been spoken of numerous times but like many of their sketches when seeing them for the first time was so hilarious and unforgettable.
Ah, what marvelous geniuses they were! Why can't we have anything like that nowadays? I can watch these videos over and over again. By the way, during the "Your nuts, Milord" sketch, is it my imagination or is there smoke wafting into the scene repeatedly? Do they have dry ice somewhere, or does it have anything to do with the content? Does anyone know, please? Thanks for all the years of laughter, Ronnie C. and Ronnie B. You've added much needed humour to our lives. I hope you are both in Heaven, thinking up new sketches there!
One of the best ever. It helped explain why my wife left me. She taught me how to play a game she played all of her life of 60 years. After loosing a couple of games, I started wining, and boy, she never liked that. So I had to play dumb and loose a few to keep her happy. Then she got cocky and asked for a contest first to 20 games. I beat her hands down, and 3 days later she called me a cheat lol. A few months later she was gone. True story. The irony? Never been happier on my own. Loneliness is one thing, but loneliness in a marriage is a whole different ball game. So yes, understand why little Ronnie got upset lol.
*lose, lose, bloody LOSE -- NOT "loose"! And you started WINNING, not effing "wining"! And if this damn story is true (which I doubt), you beat her because you are a MAN and she is a WOMAN, and they are NOT the same thing!
@@DieFlabbergast Gee man/woman... take it easy teach. Dont normally answer trolls, but for what its worth... its a true story. The game was Backgammon, so man or woman makes not difference teach.
@@ConstantlyDamaged Probably true... but whats your point? Everyone is an easy-beat at first. My whole point was that it is not about the game or who wins or who looses... its about who can handle winning and loosing. Because I loved her, I saw her pride destroying herself, and is why I let her win, to help build her up again. But it backfired on me lol. Anyway, I am much better off now in more ways than one.
The Four Candles sketch was based on a real event in a hardware shop. The staff in the shop had a customer who came in asking for four candles but was asked how many fork handles he wanted? They cleared up the misunderstanding but thought the incident would make a good sketch on the Two Ronnies. They wrote to them about it and the two Ronnies liked the idea so much that they had it expande out into the sketch that is a comedy legend. It was the only sketch they ever created that was based on a suggestion from a viewer.
I try the Os and Ps etc thing at my local hardware store that's literally staffed by upright corpses. In 5+ years I have not managed to get even the tiniest of smiles, never mind a laugh. These are 40+ year old men. Has the world lost it's sense of humour or am I being boring?
I cracked my tennis racquet on my cousin (sore loser) and my mother cracked me😂😂 38 years ago. I'm happy to see Ronnie's frustration taken out on his racquet.
I have watched Fork handles maybe about 50 times since it first appeared. Never ceases to reduce me to tears of laughter. For once I thought Ronnie C was even funnier than Ronnie B, both sublime. Who wrote the sketch, was it Ronnie B?
"WEIRD!!!". I woke up this morning having dreamed of the four candles skit, and bosh, here it is on the list. Google has a direct link to my brain cells.
