I've been struggling while going through this boring chapter, and your sermon makes the characters come to life, more vividly. I'm enjoying listening to your sermon very, VERY much! God should be our goal, not a way to our goal. David's heart truly loved God for who He is, but Solomon didn't. Having deep personal relationship with God should be all of us priority.
I think it was because David was tempted to take pride in how successful he was by counting the number if his ppl. The other chapter adds different details saying the Satan tempted David putting in his heart doing the census. God was displeased because apparently David was trying to take the credit for what God did it for him?
