This is now the third review video I've watched on this channel, this lady is a fantastic reviewer, thanks for making this type of content, very informative.
This is the video burner review I was looking for, thank you for making it. I was looking into the Camp Chef 30,000 BTU, after seeing this review and the features of each burner, now I know I really like the camp chef model. Thanks again, happy camping and cooking! 👨🍳
You are most welcome @CJ's Outdoors. The CampChef Pro 30 grill is hands-down my favorite. It's little folding side-shelf/cover is like icing on the cake.
Thank you, Chris. We have not used the Camp Chef VersaTop. The bottom of the Discada is curved and rests nicely on the Pro 30 burner supports, without wobble.
You mentioned that Bill put a grate inside the lip of the camp chef. We just purchased the same camp chef and southwest disk 22” and wonder if I need the grate that you installed. Thank you
Hi, Angela. You don't need a grate to use the Discada on the Camp Chef Pro. They work together beautifully just as they are. It's my favorite way to ise the Discada.
I am considering the Pro 30 but am worried about how well you can dial the heat down. To me, and I am no chef, it seems that it would be way to hot with 30,000 BTU. I Googled and found that most home gas stoves are 7,000 with some larger burners maybe running 12,000 to 15,000 BTUs. I got a GasOne butane stove that is rated 8,000 and I absolutely love it. You can dial back to a light simmer all the way to a full boil. So have you had this long enough to use it much? Can you dial the heat back to simmer stuff without burning it? Can you cook with a cast iron pan on it or do you have to use their grill & griddle? Thanks.
Hi Greg. Any pan can be used on the Camp Chef Pro 30. We've used a wide variety of pans on it: 9" cast iron mini wok, 14" traditional steel wok, 22" steel Discada and a household-use 8" stainless steel pot with aluminum disc bottom. The flame is widely adjustable. There is a low setting and a warm setting on the flame control dial. I used the low setting when making ghee in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nHUP1RgMfP0.html It worked well keeping a consistent bubbling. I have not yet cooked using the warm setting. It provides a shorter flame than low, and the air damper is wonderfully easy to use to adjust the flame's intensity. The wind deflector collar around the burner does a great job preventing the flame from being blown out. I hope this helps answer your questions.
@@wobblyotteroutdoors I picked up the pro 30X, the grill box and the steel griddle today. I had to make sure I could adapt the propane hose to my RV first. I found the adapter and can't wait to try this thing out. Thanks for the help!
Hi I love your video . You did great with the comparisons, I also have the camp chef stove , that’s all I use on my deck it’s very versitile, I wanted to know if you guys are making any of those grates for purchase I would surely buy one I know it’s very weighty but that’s a great idea . Thanks again
Hi, @monique smith. Thank you so much for the kind words and the question. We found the grates on our property when we purchased it long ago. Sad to say we didn't make this one and currently don't have plans to make and sell them.
how much weight could I put on the GasOne B-3000H-1 (100,000 BTU) burner with the leg extensions?, could I use a 15 galon kettle? I would like to use it for brewing!
Hi Daniel. The GasOne 100K burner is marketed for brewing. We looked at the product listing and didn't see anything indicating weight capacity. In the questions on Amazon, folks were asking similar things. One answer there said they had used it with heavy weight items and it had worked. Others suggested leaving off the bottom leg sections. We haven't tried it, so we don't have any personal experience to offer.
Yes, there is a little blackness on the bottom of the pans. Not too bad though. So far, I've noticed it mostly on the bottom of the Discada. I didn't notice it hardly at all on the bottom of a smaller stainless steel pan.
I have several Camp chef pieces and plan to add a 22" Southwest disk to fit on top of a Camp Chef Versatop, Pro30, or Explorer 2 burner using a $13 Wok ring i got off ebay.
It really does. The Camp Chef Pro 30 is such a joy to use and the disc pans rest on the burner perfectly; stable without any wiggle. There is a nice clearance between the bottom of the pan and the flame. A joy to use together.
We just got the Camp Chef Pro 30 today, 2nd week of March 2022 and boy, was I surprised that it has increased its price to 30% ( ++ TAX! ) girl! Where did you get yours? We got ours from Outdoor World. 'must be the supply chain issue or it could be that we are at the verge of WW3. 🙈
We bought it on Amazon and the price was steady at that time. Currently there are several sellers listed for it there and the prices do vary widely. This is our Amazon affiliate link for it: amzn.to/3JeNLdr (We may earn a commission from items purchased through that link.) Availability of the Camp Chef Pro 30 on Amazon seems to come and go too.
Hi ya, Alex! I agree about the price of the skottle. I really like the $100 Camp Chef Pro 30. It's built so well, it's way versatile, love its shelf, and the price is fair. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
