I was happy to see this video. I have the same truck 57 model. My 2 speed won't do anything. Was wondering what made it tick. That must be a 6 volt motor on that but i see you activated it with 12 volts without burning it out. That was my worry as i have converted mine to 12 volts with an alternator.. When you split the rear-end back to low range while moving all you have to do is bring your revs up to match the engine speed to the rear wheel speed and she'll drop right down with no clutch. I'll be looking for some more videos.
Yeah I dove into the whole thing with little knowledge of how the internals worked on the motor. Simple little set up. I found find those internal switches on line for 15 bucks or less after i worked on it. The contacts were dirty on ours I think that's why it didn't work
