Just a couple of weeks ago we got our hands on these brand-new ‪@MilwaukeeTool‬ cordless band files, and we couldn't wait to get them in the shop. It just so happens that a couple of early samples showed up in the shop. We got the Milwaukee 2482 and 2483 M12 FUEL Cordless Brushless Band Files. One uses a 3/8" x 13" belt and the other uses a 1/2" x 18" belt. Both heads will fit on either band file, and the head will rotate 360 degrees. You also get a Low and High Speed and Forward and Reverse. These are expected to start shipping in February 2023.

12v team red, 40v team teal, dont have to worry about my options not including a band-file anymore :D I'm sure makita will cover the more burly sizes in 40v soon, those things will spank.

I made both size bandfiles with the m12 cut off tools and the hobo fart ari band files

Now tell Milwaukee I need a 3/4x18 and a 1”x30 18v with a contact wheel tip. I will take 5 a year at least.

The 3M belts are by far the best belts and hold up in grit as well as the seam. Do Not use Makita belts! They split at the seam every time👉

Yup, the ceramic Cubitron II ones. Though Norton blaze orange ones are pretty good

How bout the Walter stuff? Ever try it? I use Walter for all my grinder stuff
@GTRliffe

i use these allot they don’t like spot welds, the drill bit is made for that this would be more fore flattening a weld or metal imperfections. Very Very handy tool!!! Btw, if you get the metal red hot say goodbye too the adhesive bond on the belt. I’ve lost many until i figured that out!! Must let things cool in between runs!

Looks like a winner. Now time for a 18V version, because the 18V Makita rocks as well

I'm in limbo which one to buy this M12 bandfile or makita 18V belt sander
@saiiiiiii1
@saiiiiiii1 Год назад
@@henryairconcepts2999 Had both ordered and kept the Milwaukee for my needs. The Makita is a workhorse and has endless power, but it's gigantic. The Milwaukee definitely has less power but is a lot more compact and lighter.

How much pressure can you apply before these bog down? Just thinking about what happens with the M12 right angle die grinder.

I'm wondering the same thing, I wish I could try one before I buy it. I'm a body tech so I need something that can replace the air powered counterpart. I'm new to body work but I weld a lot so I've been thrown into the role of doing all the welding work at the shop and I've been borrowing everyone's air file, I've used 3m, bluepoint, and onyx or something like that, they all seem good enough and if this will do what they do I would say it's not too bad.

@@SilentDeathPotato Great name :-) Yeah, the trick is to try one out - I guess go to a tool show? I've got a Metabo 18v band file, which works ok, but could do with a bit more grunt. I've seen the newish Makita 18v file reviewed and it looks pretty powerful, but again I'd like to give it a try before I buy. Good luck with your search.

Let the tool do the work. I really can’t think of any reason why you would lean on it. An appropriate belt for whatever job you’re doing and you shouldn’t have a problem. Just got one and ripped through spot welds, no effort.

Does anyone know what brand the green and matte black toolbox is behind him? I'm obsessed with that color combo. Thanks.

I wonder if you have to keep switching batteries after grinding 30 spot welds 🤔
@leerob342
@leerob342 Год назад
Thats a very subjective topic. Battery size, temp. etc etc. But, just going off this video, my man went through 10-11 spot welds, and you can see he only used one bar on the "fuel gauge" with a 4ah batt. So, I think the 4ah will easily do 30 and the 30 more. Of course, we also have the 5ah and the 6ah batteries... So, I think you and your 30 spot welds will be happy as can be!

Band file? I have never heard it named like that. It's a belt sander, isn't not?
@Shoptoolreviews

Band file, finger sander, belt grinder, belt sander, finger file...these things have names all over the place, depending on which industry. DynaBrade was probably one of the first companies to make these popular, so you'll hear many in the autobody industry call these Dynafiles as well. Thanks for watching.

@Senkino5o

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, sounded like it was bogging down even with his test. Still I don't think you'll be able to push too hard because the tensioning spring will depress and let the belt go.
