@@pia_moss Weirdly enough, I found her channel through ACOTAR, It was the first series I’ve ever read, and I loved it- aha- but I agree with every single point she’s ever made about it, I’d pause and laugh while nodding my head. I’ve reread it and while it ain’t perfect, it’s a guilty pleasure for me. I have questionable taste but oh well.
@@belletham6526 everyone has different taste but from the videos I know what's going on and can live my life reading other books instead of this series
This the first I'm hearing of this book so I'm just going off what Cindy said but I'm thinking the "homeless" guy was the billionaire. Mystery solved 😂😂
I was having a terrible, terrible day. Period cramps, math, and the urge to scream until everyone was dead overwhelmed me. I prayed for God to save me - and then I saw the light. ‘Cindy?’ I asked, my eyes welling up with tears. " 'Tis I," She said, and stretched her wings behind her back, 'Your Savior.’ I let out a breath I didn't realise I was holding. (thank you for saving me)
Cindy: Unsure if she can make an entire video about City of Bones, even though the series includes Incest, White Savior Troupes, Slut Shaming, Love Triangles, Plagiarism and the author's own life in scandal Me: Ready to rant But then, it came to me. WWRD? What Would Rhysand Do? I took a breath. Me: It's your choice Cindy.
Tamlin is the ghost of obsessive ex-boyfriends, haunting YA authors everywhere, deluding them into thinking that being stalked by a guy is hot as long as the guy in question is hot.
End Rhys too pls he was no better. 🙄 people forget how much of a d**k Rhys was in book 1. Feyre’s family would have died in book 1 if it wasn’t for Tamlin and Feyre’s help tbh
The Inheritance Games is top tier purely because of this line: “I'm a hyper competitive, bisexual perfectionist who likes to win, who looks like this, I'm no stranger to being hated". like BITCH SAME.
@@menta3001 one of the side girl character she meets in school. I forgot her name but she was great. Other than that I cant say more cause it will be a spoiler .
@@beta910 they thought they where siblings from about end of book 1 to, I think mid book 3? I dunno, I haven't read these books since I was like 14 and I didnt like them, dnfed after book 3, which says something lol
@@heroic_antagonist759 Okay so I haven’t read them at all,but I thought they find this out in book 2....you’re telling me when this was being published there were still people who shipped them when this whole fiasco happened
@@withcindy when ur grandkid starts being a little shit you’ll probably scream SHUT UP TAMLIN and he’ll ask u who that is but you’ll just look at him and run away terrified because that bitch will still be haunting u
I have a friend who is like 5'4 and his boyfriend is 6'0 and he literally pouted and told his boyfriend: *"I'm to cute to be sexy..."* in annoyance. It was hilarious. Apparently, the boyfriend said he could always be his trophy wife. *little dude said yes.* 😁
@@withcindy The City of Bones is draco/Ginny fanfic called the Draco Trilogy with the serial numbers filed off. BUT Cassie Clare had a ron/Ginny incest fic called The Mortal Instruments
Not an abused partner but an abused child: It honestly breaks my heart when i hear people say they wish their abuser hit them. My parents hit me regularly, but let me tell you it will never feel like its enough to validate telling someone. You always end up wishing they woud hit you more or harder or in other places to validate that you are not going crazy.Abuse always starts emotionally. By the time you wish they woud hit you/ hit you harder they already control you.But its never enough to tell someone
ugh i know!! esp when she writes lines that are how i've felt while being in a toxic relationship! im like damn u didnt have to come for my neck like that
Escapism for poor girls-I think I need this in my life right now. But honestly, The Inheritance Games sounds like it should be an OTT anime on Netflix.
@@Mecharnie_Dobbs Ohhhhh that makes sense...I sat here for 3 minutes trying to think of an anime similar but most of the plots are poor guy becomes rich not the other way around, but closest thing I can think of is either Brother’s Conflict ( step-brothers type of deal so no) or Ouran High school host club (except she’s still poor) I guess there really isn’t an out of nowhere inheritance anime....there’s even an anime about a kidnapped princess trying to find some sleep but not this lol
"Just because I want to be chaotic" is my life story and certain personalities can't handle the idea that it's not flirting, it's just watching words ricochet around in a room and having fun observing who gets it.
The inheritance game is filled with teen angst and may not necessarily hold up to scrutiny but damn if it's not a fun read. I picked it up right away after reading your review on goodread!
@@withcindy facts. whether the book was good or bad, the mention of Tamlin at least lets me know the video is interesting (all of your videos are dont get me wrong lmao)
The Inheritance Games sounds like a manga I would like to read. That feel when the beast and grey are the most interesting pairing compared to their canon love interests
Tamlin is like that itch on your palm which you can't do anything about and your palm gets more irritated if you try to stratch it,and you just have to endure it till it goes away. I know this makes no sense i just want to get it off my chest while i wait for my palm to stop itching lol
we are now at the point of the year where every day i wake up waiting for what i’ve been waiting for my whole life. “sarah j mass has driven me to alcoholism part 2 but this time i die at the end- a court of silver flames review”
Honestly the Inheritance Games is one of my favorite books that I’ve read this year. I genuinely liked most of the main characters which is rare for me because usually at least one gets on my nerves. I also loved Jameson because he brings the hot mess chaotic energy that I live for
Cindy, it sounds like city of bones wasn’t for you, but if you’re interested I really recommend trying the Infernal Devices trilogy by Cassandra clare. Most people seem to agree that it’s a lot better than the mortal instruments and I think you would like it because it centers around a really interesting and well written romance. Plus the writing is a lot better- the pacing is improved and it’s much more mature
When I was reading "the inheritance games" I felt like the plot halfway through was familiar. Then I realized that reminded me of the movie knives out so when I kept reading I just couldn't stop thinking about and I just want to know if anyone else felt like that.
Cindy, about that one guy in the first book: "He just says casually, flirty shit. And it just reminds me of how I am with my friends, because I will just say this shit, not because I want to get in their pants, but because I just want to be chaotic." Like... Same, but if I could get to their pants is not like I would say no y'know haha
I experienced non-physical abuse from my father and that wishing for a physical manifestation is so real. I have a lasting fear that I'm "making things up" when I don't have "real" evidence to support pain I feel. To the point where I tore my ACL (and couldnt walk) but because the injury is INSIDE the knee and there's no blood or anything, I convinced myself I made it up. lol. But not lol. but lol
Here's Cindy practically reading my mind when describing A Heart So Fierce and Broken; now I have a new term to use while reading-> "The Tamlin Effect" and it can choke.
as soon as i got the goodreads notification that you were reading city of bones, i couldn’t resist and decided to read it too. i honestly can’t wait to hear your thoughts 😂😂
Not at Cindy still being traumatized by Tamlin. Move on girl, there be more doughbags in the sea of YA to rant about EDIT: Ignore that, you seemed to have found JACE
@@withcindy I like Holly Black's other YA books (Tithe, Valiant and Ironside) and I have Cruel Prince, but I haven't read it yet. Totally would buddy-read with you.
A reflection of how much we care about what Cindy is saying, is that everyone is commenting on what she's been saying, and no one is commenting on what she's been wearing
The Inheritance Games reminds me so much of the 39 Clues series that I read when I was 12. Obviously quite different but wow, I want to read The Inheritance Games so bad now
I love how Cindy tries so hard to be like: "oh no, I'm not actually altruistic, if I had Bezos' money I would just start having the time of my life in his mansion and stuff" when we all know you would almost immediately spend it all into fixing the problems in this country - and probably, for good measure, have all murderer cops literally crucified so that they can know what it is like to slowly suffocate :). Sis, your selfishness acting is even poorer than your straightness acting
@@withcindy Oh man it’s been years since I read those but I remember them being kind of cheesy and taking themselves super seriously as this “spy thriller chase to get an inheritance- for kids” but I really liked it back in the day. They’re a series of kid’s books, each was written by a different author and they had collectible cards and online stuff too. I think it was a campaign to get kids reading more lol. Good times
that “i wish it was worse so it was valid” mindset hits hard man. i found myself thinking about it all the time in my past emotionally abusive relationship
the fact that Dr. Barnes (the author of The Inheritance Games) will probably be my professor next semester,,,, and i agree, it's a banger to buddy read! we did it for our reading group (bc the author is one of our profs, of course) and we constantly fought over Best Brother. it hurts me you aren't Team Grayson, but i understand.
