2 Steam Locomotives, under light steam, were transferred to Ceres for light maintenance at the Ceres Rail Company's DEMETER staging yard (May 29, 2021). This compilation, made by 7 contributors, contains several amazing images of the day. I hope you will enjoy checking this out.
In this railfan compilation, you will get an overview of the transfer of 2 steam locomotives of the CERES RAIL COMPANY (CRC) from Cape Town harbour to the town of CERES, some 150km from Cape Town. While the transfer of the locomotives (BAILEY Class 19B #1412 & JESSICA Class 19D #3321) and some coaches were done by Class 35 diesel locomotives, the steam locomotives themselves were under light steam in order to lubricate the valves and cylinders. The event caused quite a stir amongst steam enthusiasts and many images and mobile phone videos were taken. This compilation takes together some of these efforts. I have used Lightroom to enhance some of the Whatsapp images. These look quite amazing, even when watched on a large TV screen!
