the problem is i lost all the backup codes, and there is no way to tell their support, because they need my email and stuff but can't help me unless I have gotten past 2FA, WHICH I CANT BECAUSE I HAVE NO BACKUP CODES. its an endless loop of hell and I can't seem to figure it out.
I'm sorry to hear that. I can understand your situation very well. I was considering starting a new account. In the end, you can always start new a new account. All 12 codes have been used on my 2FA, literally nothing in their support section to help with this issue. It is a never ending circle that starts back at the beginning asking for support, which game etc. Can't get past the 2FA, so if you login to your account more than 12 times, I guess your screwed?

Make sure you're using a PC if you're not. Use Firefox or Chrome. Make sure you're logging into the official Activision web site and not Call of Duty's official site. Watch the outline in the video all the way through and make sure you follow the steps.
Dude I can’t thank you enough, I didn’t know that email with the backup codes even existed. I turned on 2fa back in 2019 and after recently switching to pc and selling my console I couldn’t access my account no matter how hard I tried. I don’t wanna even imagine how much progress and money I could’ve lost without this video, thank you.
@@kastroglo300 Someone mentioned going into Google Security Settings, but I can't confirm. Make sure you're using Firefox or Chrome when logging into Activision and not Call of Duty's web site. You can always try to reach out to Activision.
Great video, much appreciated, I am at the point where I used Activisions first backup code and I have logged back into my account. My question is how do I turn off the 2FA, I see where to deselect it, then it asks for my password and a 2FA code from Google which I no longer have, did you use another one of Activisions backup codes here or do something else.

yo man i REALLY hope you'll respond but do you know what I should do if my back up codes aren't working? I've never used them before yet whenever i put them in, they always say its incorrect. I've only ever had one activision/CoD account ,so i really don't know what the problem is.
Make sure you're following the video. Some people seem to miss the part about clicking on Help. Also, if you're able use a PC. Firefox or Chrome are good browsers and make sure you're logged into Activision's official site and not Call of Duty's official site. Code not working is one of the biggest complaints in comments, but it's hard to say why as we don't always know what people are doing.

I never set up Googles 2FA and first time logging in my account in about two years. No code emails or about setting it up. Thinking someone somehow got google auth in my account.
I hear that often. It's possible your account was somehow accessed or at least an attempt was made. I'm sorry you're having this issue. See if you can reach out to Activision.
Are you using a PC? Try Firefox and or Chrome. Make sure you're on the official Activision Web Site and not the Call of Duty official site. As you saw in the video, make sure you're clicking the correct links and or hyperlinks in the options. It can be a a lot to have to process.

It's critical that people pay close attention to this whole process because you'll be screwed if something messes up. I don't know why Activision can't help with this more effectively. @@Dheco33 thanks for responding but I did check the email for the back up codes and I found some verification codes I typed each individual one in and none worked .. I even have the google Authenticator app that I used to set up 2fa and I type that code in for the 2fa and it says it’s wrong after several attempts it locks my account.. it sucks very bad. And there’s literally no way to contact Activision about it.

People have been asking me that lately. Maybe there as some change recently. You'll see fellow RU-vidr advertising for a 3rd party company to play your character to get rares and camos. All kind of things can happen, nonetheless, people click the 2A inadvertently too. The only way to get codes is from Activision.
It's insane. Who would risk using 2-step? You are essentially turning your account over to Google's app and Google can't help you and Activision plays dumb.
@@Afroman503 If you have the codes make sure as you watch the video and hit the Help button (as seen in the video) so you get the correct screen to enter the pass word. I watched the video again today and I think that's where people are getting confused. They aren't hitting the Help Button. Be sure to watch the video so you know where that button is.

It's best to do on a PC. Make sure you're using Chrome or Firefox. Disable your Malware or other virus software. Make absolutely sure you're on the Official Activision Page and not the Call of Duty Official Page. Also, you DO NOT need to download or use any 3rd party software. It's all done via Activision.
@@ZyReturns When you sign up or create the account it's with Google's authentication. So, if you change phones or even clean up your phone like I did, the account information will be gone. It's the strangest thing. You'd think you just log back in with your account information. That is, with google.

activision is a joke of a company. i haven’t ever set up 2 step verification and when i tried to sign in on my pc it asks for the codes when i have never set it up or gotten a backup codes email. so now i have spent money on a game and it’s store for me to not be allowed to play because of their mistake. such a joke. don’t know why we still support this company
same av. someone used my email to link to a playstation account (i dont even have playstation) and now im trying to link my xbox account and it wont let me because it says I need google authenticator and/or the backup codes which were never sent to me, only the guy that used my email somehow. Logged at least 5 tickets in different ways just to be told that the ticket type I used wasn't related to my issue. So frustrating I'm literally about to fly to wherever their headquarters is just to speak to someone. These guys will face legal action eventually.
@nevermore faggot I also had that problem but the only way I fixed it was to make sure you’re logging into the right account, if you’re getting a white screen that loads to “thirdpartylogin” then it’s a sign you’re using the wrong account since my 12 backup codes are assigned to one call of duty. If you still can’t work it then try to change your password and relog in, even though you’re locked out from 2fa, you can fail the password many times that it will send an email to the correct account u used with 2fa and allow you to change your password. If successful then turn off 2fa because it’s completely stupid hope that makes sense good luck
So I try logging into my account on the activision website with my back up codes since I don’t have my account linked to an authenticator app but when I used the back up codes it just says “Sorry, an unexpected error occurred.” I keep trying to log back in with those back up codes but it just keeps saying error so idk what to do and this is affecting severely because I’m not able to link my account to warzone mobile and can’t participate in the event that’s currently going on.

Thought the email was deleted and was so worried id never get back into my account after so many hours trying to get around it and now MW2 coming out got scared again. For some reason Call of duty isn't sending me the Emails for my backup account to the email I associated it with. And it's so damn frustrating that a multibillion-dollar company doesn't have a good enough system to send stupid emails. I've checked all my other accounts as well in case it was sending it to another email, but nothing. Do you have a fix for this?
Activision has to send you the codes. Make sure you're logging into Activision's official site and not Call of Duty's site. Some email clients may treat mail from Activision as spam.
This is beyond frustrating, my 2fa codes are link to a email I no longer can access. I ran in circles with Activision. They were able to update my email. BUT!!! It still asked for the codes upon logging in. I continued to run around with Activision, eventually the person I was emailing gave up and told me he was going to send my issues to a team higher UP!!! This whole thing is a complete joke.
I'm very happy you posted. One of the biggest question I get is how can someone have their codes resent, would you be kind enough to tell me what you did? Make sure you're following everything step by step. Log into Activision's site, not Call of Duty. Make sure you're making the correct selection in the options, as you saw in the video. As far as the codes, make sure you're not using a temporary code the may have sent.

If you're needing to use your codes for CoD, you have to get them from Acitivsion. Google will send you temporary coeds to setup your account (2-Step), but you'll need to get the Activision codes for 2-step authentication from Activision. Once you setup your account, Activision will send you back up codes. To activate the codes you have to go to the Official Activision Website and not Call of Duty's Official Site.

Are you using the codes that were sent to you from Activision? I'm not talking about the temporary code Google sends to setup 2A. Activision will send you codes to your email, it's about 20 codes. You have to make sure you're logged into Activision's Official Web Site and not Call of Duty's Official Web Site.

So I am logged out of my email I used for over 10 years on call of duty. I dont know the password. I bought MW2 on the account and now I believe I need the codes that would send to that email to play multiplayer when it comes out. How would I switch my email to one I have access to?

It's best to go through PC and a browser. It can be tricky to get in touch with Activision, but you won't need 2-step to contact them. It sounds counterintuitive, I've been there, but once you figure it out, you'll be making progress. As far as codes, they have to be mailed to you. There is no other way around that.
If you're able you're going to want to make sure you're on the official Activision Site and not Call of Duty's site. Also, if you're able use a PC, Chrome or Firefox. Make sure you're using the Activision 2-step codes and not the Google Temporary codes.
Yes, however, if you have it on your phone and you lose your phone or clear the cache, you'll have to do it again. There is probably a way to save your Authentication, but I've not looked into it. Once I got access to my Activision account I disabled Two-Step.

Google sends temporary codes to get your 2-step started, those codes aren't what you need. You need to use the codes Activision sends. The only way to get Activision codes is from Activision.

I have a major problem, it appears I have deleted the backup codes, I'm extremely frustrated thst I'm practically locked behind the 2 Factor Authentication.
