Wet wild kookaburra birds come inside during a thunderstorm. But do the 2 kookaburras get along?
Please check with your local wildlife experts before offering any food to the native wildlife in your area. What I offer these birds is an occasional treat and only a tiny portion of their overall diet.

Kookaburras are the coolest birds. When I was a kid I found a baby kookaburra whose beak was stuck in between the palings of an old wooden fence in our backyard. Poor little guy was freaking out so I freed him or her and gave them some sliced Devon before they took off to reunite with their parents who'd been observing us closely. Every single day when I'd get home from school they'd be waiting for me in the backyard. In Summer we'd leave the sprinkler on for them. After a while there was a small flock of random native birds I'd rescued - two magpies, a currawong, three kookaburras and they all just hang out in our backyard. Growing up in Australia is awesome.

Those birds are smart! The first bird perched on her arm for a minute to be polite, then he went straight for the heat source, the lights we're keeping him warm and drying him out. The second bird stayed with the woman because he knew he needed her protection. Proves they both understand their environment and status.

That is so Awesome reminds me of my Mother growing up with the Blue jays that use to come to her before Big Storms hit to come in the house. It all started when my Mother found a nest that was knocked out of a tree during a Storm and she saved these three baby Blue Jays and after the Storm put them back with their nest into the tree.

What a beautiful garden/oasis you live in. The Birds treat you as one of them, which shows how wonderful of a person you are! 😀

Honestly Kookaburras are super chill. They’re no where near as jumpy as other birds and this is shown really well by this video.

They're so friendly! They must be pretty smart, to realize that you won't hurt them, and that your home is a safe place to wait out the storm. Your home is beautiful, by the way!!!!!

My, what a beautiful place you have there! That patio-garden area looks wonderful. I love when 'my' hummingbirds come down to talk to me and visit. Instant subscriber!

AUS seems so cool. I'm scared AF of snakes though and the most deadly live there. BUT, I'd consider moving there to have Kookaburra friends!!
