2 World Trade Center's Many Faces 

The first design is definitely the best looking one.

In my opinion, what made the original complex much better than the current one is how cohesive it was. You had the Twin Towers, and then you had buildings 3-6 in front of them, which were no taller than 20 stories. By having it so, no other building within the complex stole the spotlight from tower 1 and 2, or obstruct them from the East. The original WTC complex contained buildings 1-6, with WTC 7 as an outlier. The current one has the buildings scattered all over the place and divided by streets, making them feel more like individual buildings. For those that want a twin, it will not work. There is no staggering of the buildings, so the effect will not be the same, and it was this staggering that made the Twins so iconic, and look beautiful from every angle.

I would like to see them build 2 world trade center just like 1 world trade center but without the spire. I think it will really bring the twins look back.

I think they should come up with a similar design to One world trade centre and harmonise the skyline, this of course would be a tribute to the original twin towers. I think making them too different won't make the skyline look any better.

I'm predicting that this is going to be about voting for a 2WTC design. If that's the case, I'm absolutely going for the diamonds, it's the most beautiful, and is actually one of my favorite designs in the world overall, would be such a shame if it wasn't ever used anywhere... Edit a couple of minutes later: I was right, I didn't know the 3rd design existed tho', that one doesn't look bad, but it's not really fitting there, +the diamonds are much better anyways.

Today I learned that the staircase design for 2 WTC isn't going to happen. It's a good day.

I'm still of the unpopular opinion that the Twin Towers should've been rebuilt. If you're going to compromise, just build 2 in the same design as WTC 1 to have two twin towers back in the skyline. Will look wonky as they're not staggered, but the site to me is already a mess at this point.

I haven’t seen the full video yet but I can tell what it’s going to be about from the title and I’m going to love it. I really hope 2 WTC get’s built with the original design. With the performing arts center opening, 2 and 5 wtc are the last pieces of the puzzle for the full complex.

The Freedom Tower needs a twin. Anything else just makes it look like Hudson Yards South. The diamond shape is probably the best of the Hudson Yards looking buildings, but the stacked box design, and the one with vegetation on it looks like total ass! Js.

They should just make 2 World Trade Center another Freedom Tower minus the antenna.

Quite obviously the first Foster design is the winner. The entire point of the new WTC was to represent strength and stability, to commemorate the victims and to give back to New York City an iconic skyline it could be proud of. The first design is the only one that satisfies all criteria. The second design is horrid and unsightly. It represents the opposite of strength and stability and it's as iconic as a store-brand box of oats. The second Foster design may be more modern but the obsession with terraces is just an obvious attempt at trend-chasing, a fad which will pass sooner than the thing can get built. I recall Silverstein proposing that the tower be built before a tennant is found and managed by the city until it finds one. If that's the case, i think New Yorkers should get to vote on which design to build and having been to New York, having talked to people, i know which one would win. Seriously i haven't met a single New Yorker who prefer either one of the most recent designs over the first Foster one.

I think the first design you showed is the best, with the downward diamonds, it goes with 1WTC in a way plus if it is a darker material to go with 1WTC being lighter looking. Those 2 actually look like they go together

I'm building my own NYC as well (not 1:1 because i wanted a larger map) and i love learning about all the cool and weird stuff happening there :D And i used the 1st version of WTC2 on my own build, although i had no idea about its backstory and why it hasn't been built

Diamond design would be the best one by far.

I'm still in denial that it's been over 21 years and this thing has still not been built. Silverstein has no excuse. How can the entirety of Hudson Yards go up in the time between 3WTC was topped out and the present day, plus multiple other office supertalls (Vanderbilt, 270 Park) if there's "no demand" for office space?!

The proposed 2wtc building, the one that looks like 4 towers with angled roof, just gorgeous IMO. Really hope that one gets built or at least the design recycled somewhere else. Edit: 5:44 OOHH OOH YEA THAT ONE!! (this is what I get for commenting in the first minute of a video lol

Yeah I rather prefer the original design of 2 World Trade Center with the diamonds because with that they already have the foundation built so I feel like that is Just perfect

My favorite design for 2 WTC was the one where there were leaked shots of a scale model sitting in a basement somewhere, which was most similar to the 3rd design but less boxy. The initial diamond design looks nice from a very specific angle but from anywhere else looks pretty awkward in the overall skyline. The 2nd one was a disaster of a design and the 3rd one just looks like a knockoff of NEMA Chicago which itself is a knockoff of Sears Tower.

Although I like the original on its own, the design looks too audacious for New York, seems more like something they’d construct in London. Which was Larry Silverstein argument. I’d honestly prefer an entirely new design, an innocuous one that’s congruent with its surroundings.

The diamond shaped building compliments the other wtc buildings that surround it the best.

It's quite ironic that WTC 5 will gonna be built before WTC 2.

First design is the one that deserves to be built. A bit taller maybe.

I think the best option is the third and recent design of Norman Foster, without the green foliage. It would blend in better with the other buildings.

i definitely think the first design is cool, though i can see how from other viewpoints it would just be another building agree with you on the second one, gross 🤢 third one looks cool, though i can see how winters would be an issue with the plants. maybe they have a selection of plants that grow during certain seasons so that all year round it’s green? i dunno 🤷🏻 i’m definitely no expert lol cool video tho my guy :D

tbh they should make another one wtc without the spire, but place it right next to the other so it doesn't look weird. But I doubt that will happen. I don't mind the design of the freedom tower, but overall the whole rebuilding of the complex is a mess. They should've rebuilt the original towers but way taller and with a modern look.

I would say the 2nd. I actually grew up 3 houses away from Ingels, so i know him, and thats probably also why. I mean, Denmark is a small country, so who cant say no to a danish design :)

I agree with you, as time progresses the new designs just keep getting worse and worse. I hope they stick with the original concept for rebuilding the 2WTC (if they're not gonna recreate one of the original twin towers which would be the best)

I'd rather see another freedom tower but without the antenna there. The other buildings, they're not great looking at all. They should make it look like New York Make it look like they updated the buildings

At this point they should rename the new 3 WTC to 2 WTC since it’s over 1,000 feet tall

We already let the terrorist's win by not rebuilding the towers. Just build the second tower to look like a VaJay Jay and we can all live with the defeat and laugh together at the building with the rest of the world. There you go, now we're united.

I still prefer Trump's old plan, which was to build a near exact replica of the last 2, but 1 story taller, and much stronger. Obviously lots of controversy would come from that, plus a possible tenant issue, but it would heal some wounds, and definitely be a big F-U to the terrorists lol. Never gonna happen though.

First wtc 2 design looks like someone sliced diagonally thru the building and decapateted it.

Please build the original design. The third one is ok but just get rid of the terraces.

God when will the slapping of trees on renderings end? It is such an obvious and offensive pandering and never actually comes to fruition... just stupid. Design #2 looks like a housing complex straight out of 1991 USSR. This is a classic case of overthinking and the failure to appreciate that sometimes you need to go with your first instinct, as design #1 is far and away the most appropriate and elegant design and should not be written off simply because it predates the other two, one of which is a clumsy monolith and the other an unoriginal, predictable attempt to appeal to the crazy woke crowd.
