@@bryanst.martin7134. Yes! The 5.0 is such an iconic engine. I had a 1988 5.0, absolutely loved that car. And yes, I realized by the sound it's a V-12, I was just surprised because all the article I have read about the car, says it's going to have a Roush tuned 5.0 Coyote motor. Someone mentioned that these two prototypes have the Ferrari V-12.
@@Coleman_H I actually prefer V8 sound to V12 as a rule. V10 is a happy medium. I thought the production P72 was a V8, by Roush. Gorgeous car either way
Yes! You've done it again with the immaculate on-board (but also out-board) audio quality. No clipping or droning, not low- or high-end heavy, great volume and frequency range and detail, no real compression, just right. Thank you. At 12:38 it almost sounds like an F1 V12, with the high-pitched whine bouncing against the mountainsides. Lovely.
@@19Bozzy92 get a gma t50 drivers perspective, and lexus lfa, and coughnnaught 2 liter v10 between driver passenger, and their x20. bmw electric car nound is only one i kno that differentiates between torque vs wheel rpm, revving with no clutch in during launch control simulating noise. electric srt sound will be interesting but it seems too fake now even compared to bmw i4m
Prototypes are based on Apollo IE and have the same Ferrari V12 engine! Production De Tomaso Isabelle will have Ford Roush V8! Just like the old De Tomaso cars...😉
They REALLY nailed everything in the car. The aesthetic is straight out of those 60/70s supercars, the engine OH BOI HERE IT COMES. It's a charm for the eyes
I’m glad we agree . Love ur videos . Spent 5 years in Europe flying a helicopter for the Army. Owned 6 cars , including a Group 5 homologation special and spent many hours driving the Nurburgring. Keep up the great work.
My jaw dropped on that first onboard acceleration! Holy CRAP, that sounds beautiful! Definitely one of my dream cars. Absolute masterpiece of a video. Keep up the good work Bozzy!
Stunning billionaires kit car but jesus wept, these pop&bang maps are getting ridiculous - sounds like a load of rocks in a biscuit tin, not to mention the waste of fossil fuel - the rest of that engine sounds divine, but off throttle the over run makes it sound like a Russian tractor. Max Power has a lot to answer for, lol.
This thing is pure poetry in motion! The visual appeal and the V12 creating a howling melody on the back, and let's not forget, the mountains. All this makes up into an environment which can make even the spirits and souls gaze and calm down... I praise you, De Tomaso P72! 🙏
This reminds me of the time I went to an F1 race when they still had the V10 engines(before the hybrid era) SMDH The pops, the bangs, the gurgles, the rawkus screaming of the engines for upshifts, downshifts, engine breaking and of course THE ACCELERATION!!!!!!! and that was with ear plugs!!!! BRAVO!!!! and Thanks for such a glorious upload!!
@@Budisgud69 Among other things... you would be surprised how expensive it really is to develop these cars. In my opinion they are still sold too cheap... even with the V8.
Video davvero molto bello e ben fatto, complimenti.
I’m starting today what ever I have to. I’m gunna start meditating about abundance of money and more opportunities. I’m going to conjure myself a car like this if not this one it self. I’m about to start listening to millionaire affirmations right now!
I have not watched the whole video. I’m stuck on the exterior design of this thing. It looks like it came straight out of the Speed Racer cartoon. It’s beautiful!
De Tomaso going all retro with their design, very late 1960's Le Mans type design. What shocked me more was a development prototype in RH drive form. Most of these fancy prototype supercars start off life as LH Drive models with some produced as RH Drive for other markets when in production !
....normal everyday people who wants to move from A to B. Expensive thrill ride made for the rich man isn't something you should consider making that argument.
Sadly soon all combustion cars and trucks including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Car washs will be forbidden too because they are climate killers, now they want to slow down all the gas station pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime. (BABVVEN & TEBBVEN laws)!!!!!!
Don't like the interior much, but that is a very beautiful car - echoes of Alfa's 33 Stradale and Ferrari's P4..... Sounds gorgeous too, much better than a lazy V8.
I don't hate the Roush Coyote, but come on.... you can't beat the angelical sing of a V12 while a V8 sounds like a raging monster that wants to kill you, a V12 sounds like a goddess that rewards you for having fun and driving it the way its meant
It's kind of cool but now I'm getting older and I see that all these cars are just going to be impossible for most of the people in the world to own They Don't Really thrill you anymore the videos it's cool but it's just that it's only cool there is no way the majority of the people in this world are ever going to enjoy anything like this and it's not really enjoyable on video anymore and I have money and I have nice cars and it still doesn't really satisfy I'm looking for something else this is boring
Getting pretty tired of all these companies that due an extremely small production run for a car so they can charge out the ass for it. As the years go on it becomes increasingly less likely that any true working class car enthusiast can obtain something special. Instead it just goes to some rich business dude that buys it as an investment instead of its intended purpose.
The sound and looks is absolutely wonderful. A quite good mixture of new and old styling. The lines comes definately from The P 68 / Ford F3L and the sound from the TWR Jaguar XJR series group C cars. Nice one!
Yes, the styling resembles the beautiful sport prototypes of the 60/70es as you correctly point out,Ford P68 and Ferrari P3/4 in most respects. Looks stunning in dark livery as for my personal taste.
Well, after that, I can't really imagine anyone wanting the Coyote V8 on those... Except if Roush manages to make it sound better than this (which is nearly impossible in my book)
Astonishing car. Really like the colour theme, with the white and light blue stripes, reseambling the Argentinean flag, because DeTomasso was argentinean. Nice touch
I dont like it. I don't know what this car is, but it is nothing that De Tamaso would of built. The company was to be affordable, fast, mid engine super cars. What is this thing? Some ridiculous attempt at trying to be Zonda?
Awesome looking and sounding cars... but I'm not such a fan of the massive clattering racket on lift off... sounds like something very expensive fell out the bottom of the car. But that epic howling V12 note in the first few moments of the video... just think, in a few years time that'll be a thing of the past. Such a shame.
Know I'm gonna get flamed for this but the sound did nothing for me. Don't get me wrong, it's a beautiful looking car but the sound grated on me. Nothing like the sound of an old school carburettor V12 with slash cut pipes - that would make the hairs on the the back of my neck stand up. This was like listening to a synthesiser, in comparison to a church organ. Love the look but it's a no from me. Sorry guys.
@@lutherblissett9070 Glad I'm not the only one. Totally agree - a Motorsport sound (box) in a road-going car, seemed to detract from the experience and the programmed pops & bangs, don't get me started.. It would drive me to distraction in less than a mile 😆
Now I LOVE V8:s, but still after hearing theese cars it seems like a crime that the production cars won't have this wailing V12 :( Cool design by the way - staying truer to the 60's style than most.
@@allensaunders449 Makes sense, and also the classic Detomaso's did use lots of Ford V8:s so it makes sense to stick to that even now in the modern reinterpretations... but I'll miss that v12 howl :)
By the way, ever since I made my comment about Alessandro yesterday I've been getting at least four replies from a scam account pretending to be Bozzy wanting to reward me in a Telegram chat. For me it's easy to tell it's BS, but beware.
It would appear this V-12 engine in a P72 body is what the just announced De Tomaso P900 will be. Just 18-examples to be made for sale with the supercharged V8 engine configuration but also a V-12.
Just 1 thing missing,,,,,, a tunnel recording. P72 is looking damn fine, one of a very few modern cars i would ever consider buying,,,,,, most look like poop these days.
Just when I thought the *imaginary* super rich me could survive with just a Koenigsegg or two, it is now very clear that I will need to pretend I also have a V12 De Tomaso. The real me did actually have a Ford Ranchero GT with a built 351C and polished aluminum De Tomaso valve covers I found at a swap meet. They looked cool and added massive amounts of power as you can imagine. The bodywork on these is absolutely stunning, and what a fun drive. Thanks for bringing us along!
It's kinda funny how the current De Tomaso owners are pandering to the ultra rich V12 manual fanboys, because De Tomaso has always used low revving American V8s.
Looks like Speed Racers car in blue. Who's the person driving? Gentleman in the passenger seat "...wait, you have a Go-Gro in here?! What the hell am I holding this phone for?"
In the digital age the backfire is unnecessary. Kill fuel, kill ignition if rpm above 3k and TPS at zero. Noise pollution is a thing, and not everyone appreciates the hearing loss afterwards. Otherwise I would love to take the wheel. The Pantera is my Favorite.
title was "De Tomaso howling on Bernina Pass" instead, annoying background music tried to find where the annoying music stopped and the howling started gave up at time 0:37 expectation sort of destroyed by narrow-appeal background music
So, what's the point? At least 50% of the beauty of those cars is in that V12. But the actual cars apparently will not have that V12, so what's the point? With a crate V8 they will be like any old kit car, possibly just a bit prettier. Boring.
