2 yr old German Shepherd GROWLING PROBLEM...what to do w/GSM 

Great advice. From young I implemented the following for my GSD. If he takes something he has stolen (whether he feels it is high value or not) I follow him very calmly with something of higher value (chicken works real well), say " I swop you" and then offer him the chicken which he can have as soon as he drops the item he stole. He then went through a phase of stealing on purpose to get treats out of me, which was fine as it really honed in the "I swop you" and I can take anything I want from him by trading him for it.

If you adopt an older GSD and he or she was never trained this command. It can be hard to teach this but it can be done. Never give up. I adopted a 4 and a half year old male GSD. He was stuck on some bad habits. I started training and giving him small pieces of hotdog and love he put these together. Now he knows when I say drop it off leave it he knows it is something he should drop. Never give up people.

I have adopted many GSD's and had to over come many bad habits, so it's doable on an older dog you just have to be persistent....If they love and respect you they will want to please you....

I started teaching my dog to "Leave It" immediately after I got him. I love your videos, keep them coming👍

I got a male gsd 2 years ago. I've watched any video you've uploaded anytime I had an issue training. And they worked. All of your tricks did the trick! You know what your talking about and I appreciate all the help you've given me the past 2 years

Thank you for explaining this my German shepherds never growled at us , they know who friend or foe Is by socializing them desensitizing them from the day I brought them home they are very smart and if they think that they can manipulate u they will try it but u have to be a strong leader and let them know from day one that you are alpha I feel so bad for dogs who are not getting the proper training from day one and I really wish that back yard breeders and puppy mills would be arrested they don't breed for temperament or health they only care about making money, I wished that they would leave the breeding to true breeders like u , u breed for great conformation and health and temperament your dog's have the best blood lines in them , I'm tired of my favorite breed's suffering from poor breeding and owner's who don't know what to do, and bad trainer's too thier is Alot of bad trainer's too they should really do Thier research on finding good training programs like u have , poor dogs getting rehomed or put down because of behavior issues that could have been prevented from the start thank you German shepherd man for giving him tips on how to help his dog , and thank you for loving the breed and loving your dog's like you, I love true breeders once you're dog always your dog and u are very picky on who gets a puppy from u I'm so glad because your dog's will end up in the right homes

@German Shepherd Man Official Channel I have a 4 year old gsd who is an amazing dog in every sense of of the word. The problem im having with him is that he growls at my wife just just by her walking past him. If she comes to close to him he growls at her if she shows any affection towards him he'll growl he doesn't do it to me unless I try to correct his behavior. It's something against my wife. This started like 2 years ago and was milder then and has gotten worse but he doesn't show teeth and he doesn't actually get aggressive is all talk she sometimes just pets him etc and he doesn't lash out. But the specific word hugs and kisses trigger the growls. When he was younger my wife would kiss him all up and show so much love with hugs n kisses that I think he got tried of it and might be the reason he dislikes it now. Please help and sorry for the rambling.

How do I get the older puppy training system? My dog is now three and he is a Belgium shepherd, and he’s starting to growl to us for no apparent reason.

Just gotta say that I sure do miss Big Don, he was the coolest dog in German Shepherd land! Major might be your ‘LeBron James’, Sergeant might your ‘Micheal Jordan’… But big Don was Magic Johnson…all the way!
