People seem to miss this detail often but the Eevee and Pikachu shirts arent mixed up, their names are in reference to the defeated Pokémon on the back of the shirts e.g. on the Astonished Eevee shirt there's a defeated Eevee. It's hard to notice unless you remove your jacket.
Too true. The bags didn’t need to be so big. The reason tiny bags could always hold big items is that they used the same tech as Poké Balls to digitize, store and access items. A bag so big that Hop says it looks like it could pull you over is superfluous and pointless (not to mention obstructive and ugly.)
I think that Opal is a reference to Queen Elizabeth II. Opal has been gym leader for 70 years and Queen Elizabeth has been reigning for almost 70 years as well.
Another thing I noticed from those games is that after you defeat leon there isn't a hall of fame scene that's strange lol at least for me but apparently when you restart your game then it shows you and your pokemon in the stadium as if that's the hall of fame lol
Magan Hassan Yeah cause there is no hall of fame. Sure, it’s what we are used to, but it’s not necessary. It’s more like an actual sport (which imo makes more sense for these kind of battles and gives the games their unique style) instead of a governmental kind of institution.

I noticed a little easter egg (or at least i think it is) on the various bridges in Galar: the items you can pick up are only feathers, that I believe it's a reference to the Driftveil Drawbridge in Pokemon White and Black, where you could pick up feathers (and catch Duckletts) on as well.
This isn't actually the first time we don't have the region professor do the introduction. In Gen2, we have Prof. Oak do the introduction instead of Prof. Elm.
Simon Torre however, professor oak is still a professor for the region. it’s even stated that him and elm work together regularly, so oak is, technically, still the region professor and elm is just his prodigy.
a mini fact is that when entering houses in swsh, water bottles are seen in the trash cans which is a reference to how there would be water bottle items in trash in the older games! b2w2 made a reference to this too i think
The shirts are actually named for the Pikachu/Eevee on the back. Astonished Eevee cuz the Eevee is astonished and Pikachu payback cuz the Eevee gets payback on pikachu
Fun fact: With the pokemon in the Wild Area that will walk up to you (With a ? mark above their head) if you use the twirl animation some of these pokemon will react. I have found this out first with a Cubchoo, and then with a Purrloin.
Fun fact: I was trying to find an Indeedee and in the process of hunting for one I got a Sinistea that popped up and I was like eh might as well catch it since I don't have one. And then I went to evolve it and I couldn't give it the cracked pot. I was so mad thinking that someone lied to me then found out that it was the Authentic one...now I can't find the chipped pot cause the merchant never has one when I check 😭
Actually, the switch joycon colors change to match the ones you have even if you aren't in handheld mode, as long as you have joycons connected to the switch i.e if you're using a pro-controller they'll default to grey but if you're using joycons the ones in game will match the colors.
For some reason this wasn't the case for me. I have the Red + Blue joycons that came with my Switch, but it displays the Switch in my character's bedroom with the Gray joycons.
For those who are wondering what the switch would look like in the room when playing on a nintendo switch lite. Its color would be default grey. Thats quite disappointing :(

In Pokémon Gold and Silver and it's remakes Professor Oak introduces you to the World of Pokémon and he isn't Johto's Professor, it's Professor Elm. Sword and Shield is the first one to not have a Professor introduce the game.
11:48 This is FALSE information! Square shines are rarer for random encounters, but are COMMON for shinies hatched from eggs! While the normal shines are common for random encounters but rarer for hatched eggs. One is not inherently "rarer" than the other, it just depends how you got your shiny.

Thanks hoops and hip hop I never knew that a wild Pokemon could walk into your camp and just join your team like that that's amazing all the more reason for me to want to buy one of the games.
I camp all the time in this game and haven't noticed any wild Pokemon come up to me! Then again, I tend to leave shortly after cooking (which is apparently the best time for a wild Pokemon to come up to you), so maybe I need to stick around a little longer. Still, it's a really neat detail!
Hey he mentioned Milcery evolving into Alcremie so if you want a Ruby Swirl (the one that looks like Strawberry Banana flavor) then all you need to do is make sure that it is daytime and spin counterclockwise. MAKE SURE MILCERY IS HOLDING A SWEET OR THIS WILL NEVER WORK EVEN EVOLVING IT.
Not always bad in a sense that it prevents game freak from being discouraged from making games even if there are ,admittedly, toxic people that’ll send them death threats for not liking how a game is made but also not always good in a sense that any actual flaws that holds the game back for people will be ignored

I really hope that when/if we get sequels for the games, if you have data for the previous, champ could be hop after he defeates your trainer after he defeated leon. After that you face Leon and final post gym challenge battle is your champion
The fist one isn't true. It would be true if you said "a professor", but gen 2 was not introduced by the professor of the region. It was actually the professor of the previous region that being Oak instead of Elm.
Another observation i love about your in-game house is that your Mam (we say Mam, not Mum up North) has the same hair colour as you start out with. And that the Switch is next to the 'telly' rather than the TV. Interesting linked fact though - Bede is the name of a well known Saint & historian in the North East, from a small town called Jarrow to be exact where a lot of my family are from :) so it was super lovely having that lil representation of my roots in the main story

actually it is 1/16 chance for shiny to be square in BREEDING but 1/16 chance for shiny to be stars in the WILD so it is flipped, in the end, neither are more rare, just more of a way to see if one is caught or bred
Once your done with Opal's gym challenge before you step into the arena to go face to face with Opal your in a little room but at the bottom right there is a note telling you how Sonia and Leon did with her challenge
The pikachu and eevee shirts (astonished) aren't backwards or mixed. They have two sides. The front shows the attacker and the back shows the attacked. So for example if it's astonished eevee you are looking at then it shows pikachu using an attack on the front and the astonished eevee is in the back. It's hard to see because we have a huge backpack on and no current option to hide the backpack or to buy a smaller looking one. But then the same goes for astonished pikachu only in reverse. Eevee would be on front attacking and pikachu being astonished on the back.
If I was in charge of Pokémon Sword and Shield, I would’ve only introduced brand new Pokémon and Regional Variants, numbering 165. No old Pokémon would’ve been found
I got a black Wooloo in my game, and it used the square animation when I meet it. Initally from watching this I thought I hit the shiny jackpot (it's also my first!) unless I hear of the glitch. Is the black Wooloo the rarer one?
I’ve only battled 5 sinistea in my play through but today I found out about the two variants and I guess I got lucky because in only 3 encounters I got an authentic sinistea 🤘🏽
I never heard of people confusing Bede for an old grandma, and tbh I have no idea how anyone would ever confuse him for such. Not once did I think he was a woman or an old lady, you can clearly see that he's a guy, even during the reveal trailer where he throws his signature Mon you can see his pose in the back, which doesn't resemble anything to an old lady.
