Drummer Tom Stephen died February 20, 2023. So yeah there won't be any news. Loved the band. The movie Road House with Patrick Swayze was another important highlight of this career!
15:00 - I first became familiar with The Waitresses because of their hit 1982 single "I Know What Boys Like" from its inclusion in the movie *_The Last American Virgin_* 20:28 - 20:38 & 21:54 - That's Salt-N-Pepa
Vixen was far more edgy than Bon Jovi. Critics often accused female bands of impersonating male bands. I can't believe anyone took the critics seriously.
If Big Country is not mentioned this list is shit.Big Country had 4 singles , 2 of which reached top 5, they recorded 9 studio albums ,they were not a one hit wonder , they were way better musicians /songwriters than other 80's bands of the Era. The record company Polygram /kept them locked into a bad contract , when the band eventually was released Polygram conducted a smear campaign on the band in an attempt to ruin their career-which is where the stigma towards the band originated. The band is not promoted on 80's compilations , they get no help because of Polygrams blacklisting of them .
Argh! It's Woooster, not Worchester, MA! J. Giles lived in a nearby town until his death. He would playout in small venues in the area with his trumpet until his death. Of course, they don't talk about Kunnaman's death from cancer and finally made up before her death.
