Mental health doesn’t stop it. My sister is a bipolar schizophrenic who walked out on her son. While I was raising him, she convinced anyone who would listen that I took him from her and kept him away. When she did it at the hospital and i refused to let him into my home, she never showed up to get her rights. If I didn’t give them to my mom. He would have ended up in the system. The mentally ill are honestly better at fooling folks.

Some ppl in the comments think Josias didn't have the smarts to transfer buses & get back home. He probably indeed has the mental capacity of someone who's about 10 or 12, but even kids that age have some sense. Josius is more calculating than he pretends to be. He manages to maneuver and navigate a big city in a state he's not even from and find access to anything he desires...whether it's women, drugs, a dog, etc. I also notice how he knows the perfect time to distract conversations when he doesn't want to answer questions. He's a schemer. I don't think his intentions were ever to go home and be in a structured environment.
