Joss Stone is the finest singer that we Brits have had in all of my lifetime (And I am an 88 year old man) It says a lot about our music industry when she has to go to the USA to be fully appreciated. It simply goes to prove that the heads of OUR music industry are only interested in the current "Commercial" sounds to make them a quick buck. It verges on criminality that she was actively forced to go to the USA to fulfil her talent.
Much the same on this side of the pond sir. It's all about what makes money now as opposed to what makes you feel something in your soul. Bands and artists that we all know an love from our life times would never make it in this day and age.
One of the best SOUL singer,s this country ever produced, it's a pity she doesn't get the recognition she deserves. Peace be with you my friend's.😎✌️🏴🇺🇦
@@KP-Broncos Different strokes for different folks !!! It is good to see the various replies that the general public have, and not everyone is going to like the same version.
I heard about her years ago, but never felt compelled to listen to her...then I heard her singing a Gladys Knight piece and here I am. Looking forward to hearing her covers of ANY Soul song, or any song...one of the best. She must be a ton of fun to play for from a band's perspective.
Joss Stone - I love her!!!!! WHATEVER HAPPENED TO JOSS STONE!!!! In 2003 I said to my wife I've just heard a girl singer she's only 16 but she's bl..dy brillliant. She's gonna make it big. What happened? I'm adding her to my female favourites list right now. And, of course, she likes SOUL, the music I was brought up on. Not only that but she is a big Dusty Springfield fan and sang 'Son of a Preacher Man' as a tribute to her. In fact, if it hadn't been for Dusty the Motown Sound (SOUL) might never have happened here in England. In the mid 60's she arranged a 'Ready Steady Go special' featuring: the Supremes, Martha and the Vandellas, Smokey Robinson andd the Miracles, little Stevie wonder (only 13 at the time!) and others and then toured them all around the country. Motown (soul music) became the music of the Mods and the rest is history!
Now this is one amazing performer!. Lovely talking voice transforms into a monumental singing voice. Soulful, sultry, sexy and that's not even talking about her dynamic looks. A quadruple threat. Absolutely love this woman!
Joss Stone....Amazing voice...Amazing Lady...and amazingly attractive ...This is a brilliant song and can only be covered by an amazing singer.....Joss Stone....I can listen to this and her all day...what an amazzzzzzing voice..Love it Love it Love it.....wow
He is good, but demonstrates once again, why you should NEVER solo a trombone (unless you're trombone shorty)! Face it folks, it's simply not a precise instrument. Sometimes you hit the note, sometimes you get close!
Joss Stone is one of best in the world. Great band too, on top of that there's Michelle John on bck vocals. Recorded live at Camden Town, a place where I lived many years ago (1976-1977). Greetings from Portugal.
I think I have a good hearing for sound and music, music has quite a lot of faces, I told the days, Joss Stone is an incredible woman with a great soul, for my ears the best of the world because she has many voices in her soul, Danke with a lot of love from Europe, thanks to this Channel
Seventeen years ago, when I was a little girl, I watched this video and I was amazed by her, by her voice, her style, and her charisma on stage. Now, I'm a singer and I just uploaded my cover on my channel ❤️❤️
ok, i said go ahead and surprise and impress me.... well, she surely did. Dusty Springfield rocked this song, but Joss really poured some soul all over it. What an incredible raw talent who should be on everyone's stage. How have i not heard of her???
I was lucky enough to meet her in Malabo , Equatorial Guinea...she controlled the small venue walking among us she was amazing and so down to earth and humble....Brilliant and night that I will never forget
Watching Joss dance and sachet about is like watching a waterfall. Mesmerizing. Then, you hear the music...WOW! I've never before wanted so much to be a wireless mic pack...
to be COMPLETELY honest romantically i did do and/or PROBABLY will really LOVE joss stone because she's LITERALLY always had and still has an EQUALLY attractive face to go along with her vegetarian diet and i did do and/or PROBABLY will really LOVE her as a musician
I'm 55 (male)and I feel a little creepy about how much I still love Joss, cause she murdered this song what, 15 years ago!?? Ahhhh!! Anyway, thankfully she hasn't lost a thing. And she's soulful and rock-ish like Joplin and surprisingly, Alicia Keys....she can rock out a little. Women have been doing their thing harder than men for years now, great to see. Is Jack White the only dude trying right now!!??? Lmfao!!
Oh I just love her..lol..sexy and great voice too..I'm glad there's a latest one of this song.last one I have was her at an awards show singing this song.i actually like that one better..
She's performing it in E here, the original/Dusty Springfield key, as opposed to three semitones higher in G like she did at the UK 2006 Hall of Fame. More laid back, but still quite awesome. Even if you're tone deaf, you can tell the intensity is different. Both are amazing, though. This is a good song for her.
She's also ten years older here. Her performances are more mature. And, she's taken to wearing long gowns instead if that ridiculously short jumper she wore to the HoF. However, I do believe I like her earlier version better though; all things considered.
Dusty Springfield and Tom Springfield. Awesome Sister and Brother. Listen to Judith Durham and The Seekers sing Tom Springfield's Songs. Judith Durham sings like an Angel.
Just love you, I hope that one day I can see you perform live. You are up there with the very best. Love your powerful voice and your persona. I listen 6ou since your first album. Your one and only.
