20 Min Killer Home Dumbbell Workout (Build Strength + Burn Fat)

Get ready to build strength and burn fat with this complete 20-minute home dumbbell workout! This quick and effective full body routine is perfect for anyone looking to get in a great workout in just a short amount of time. Grab your dumbbells and let's get to work!
Here are the exercises and format for todays workout:
0:31 - 1. Db Alternating Reverse Lunges
1:31 - 2. Db Renegade Rows
2:31 - 3. Db Chest Fly's
3:31 - 4. Db RDL's
4:31 - 5. Db Crunches
You'll be doing each exercise for 40 seconds, followed by a 20 second rest and transition period. You'll repeat this circuit 3 times and then move onto the next set of exercises, which are...
15:31 - 6. Db King Kongs
16:31 - 7. Bicycle Crunches
17:31 - 8. Skier Swings
18:31 - 9. Mt Climbers
1931 - 10. Db Push Presses
You'll be doing each of these exercises for 40 seconds, followed by a 20 second rest and transition period. Try to the push intensity on these exercises and make it suck a little bit. Once you've finished all 5 exercises in this set, the workout is complete!

Heh, I had squats with dumbbells and shoulder press with dumbbells as two separate exercises I was doing, thanks for this video - I can now put them together.

Hey! So I wouldn't always put those 2 exercises together. If you want to gain strength or build muscle, it's actually better to keep them separate and try to go heavier overtime. I only put them together for metabolic conditioning when the goal is to burn calories and burn fat. Hope that helps!

@@coachnickfitness I couldn't combine them anyway as I do my exercise routine in my basement and I have to do a seated shoulder press as there isn't the ceiling room for doing a standing one. Thanks for the suggestion, though, you are certainly right that the weights are different.

Hi! I'm about to start with this workout. Haven't tried dumbbells before. What weight shall I initially carry (27y, F)?

Awesome! If you've never used dumbbells before, I would recommend going pretty light so you can really focus on doing the movements correctly. Probably 5 or 10 pounds to start should work well. Good luck!

What size weight should be utilized for this workout?

For reference, I'm using 15 lb dumbbells in this video. That's a super tough question as there are a lot of variables to consider, but, if you're just starting out, you could absolutely use 10's or 15's for this. If you're a little stronger and more experienced, probably more towards 20's or 25's.

Thank you and thanks for the question. If your goal is to add muscle mass and get big, this is not a great workout for you. You'll need to search for "hypertrophy" workouts for that. But if you goal is get lean (burn some fat, build some strength, see some muscle definition), then these type of dumbbell workouts are absolutely fantastic for that.

It depends! If you're really skinny and need to put on muscle, then no. But if you're trying to lose fat and get lean, then absolutely (with time and consistency. I've been working out for 20 years now). Dumbbells have always been my #1 piece of exercise equipment.
