Sometimes it’s great to go back to the basics! I enjoyed this, thanks Chris! I found Chris last November and did all her learn to step tutorials, I loved them so much I did them in 30 days! She breaks down all the moves perfectly and makes them so easy to follow. After I’d completed the tutorials I did some of the beginner basic videos then started doing some strength workouts, which are amazing by the way! I love how Chris emphasises doing the exercises with proper form. So! After doing some step and strength workouts I decided I was ready to join in a live Saturday intermediate step class…and it was SO MUCH FUN!! For the first one I just about managed to keep up but kept moving if I got a bit lost. Chris has exceptional cues and it’s so easy to pick up the step choreography. I’ve recently, in the last 2 weeks, started following her weekly class schedule and I’m starting to notice changes in my overall cardio fitness and also feeling stronger. Chris is the BESTEST OF THE BEST and that’s why we love her 🥰🥰🥰 So, thank you from the bottom of my heart Chris! I’m SO glad I found your channel, the community you have built is absolutely amazing and every day I look forward to chatting to my fitness friends and doing your workouts. It’s great when you give me a shoutout, I jump about like a wee fangirl 😉 I appreciate you so much Chris! 🥰
@@mazzarethhi ya MAZ I LOVE STEP WORKOUT SESSIONS SO MUCH FUN .I LOVE CHRISES STEP WORKOUTS .I AM REALLY FEELING IT NOW .AFTER TODAYS FITNESS CHALLENGE.SEE YOU AGAIN TOMOROW FOR DAY 2.FROM DANIEL
Chris is such a great instructor in ALL of her classes whether it’s step, strength, HIIT, mobility, cardio dance. She has it ALL! She is really great at breaking it down, given modifications for all to be able to join no matter what level or age, wherever you are at in your fitness journey. I came to Chris already established into mine, but I have really have reaped so many benefits from working on FORM from her. Basic step is great for everyone, even if you’ve done step for some time, to make sure that your doing things right, putting that whole foot on the bench, keeping that core tight, not twisting your knee funky etc. So my thanks to you Chris, and thank you all that join in with her every week cause I sure have fun with this fitness family 😊.
This is where I started last November after my knee op... now, after much practice and a bit of a growing step adiction (!), I do the more advanced ones but mostly without risers. So today I did this one with the risers to practice and get more confident with the extra height. I would encourage everyone to give it a go and aim for gradual progress, dont be afraid or ashamed to modify .... you will honestlly be surprised by the results you can achieve with Chris' workouts. Thank you for a perfect after work session.
I started step workouts in the 1990's when it was all the rage and I loved it. 3 decades later, at 57 yrs old, I'm picking it up again and I love it just as much. Great cardio workout that pushes me to get stronger. I'm hoping to lengthen my step workouts in time, but this was perfect for getting back into step.
Another day of this video ,I have to say I'm loving it ❤ I know at some point I'll have to move on from.basic 20 minute videos and do more but im happy for now
Thank you Chris. I have been following you and doing your workouts for over a year now. I have joint issues, so It is always great to go back to the basics. I encourage all the new people, don't give up. You will get it
Chris! Great basic step class for Day 1 of Fitness Challenge! I've done step for a gazillion years and CDorner is SO my Happy Place! Basics - always a nice refresher! Chris--you're just the whole package---our one-stop shop for any/ all classes! Thank you, ALWAYS!!!😊🥰😍💓
Great beginner/basic class to get started, or to get going again if you've been absent from step for a while. Chris has playlists for all levels. She's the best!
My first step class was in the 90’s. Went to gym early for aerobics class but they changed to step class. I decided to try. Shortly into class, stepped on one side of step too hard and other end came off the ground sending my risers into other steppers. I almost walked out but kept with it and over time step became my favorite. I can get lost in the steps and forget I’m exercising. Thank you Chris for rekindling my love for step with your amazing workouts. Also no longer just a cardio queen. 🏋🏻♀️
Thanks Chris! This was a great mobility day warm up! I started doing step in the spring of 2021, using the old Jane Fonda step workout and some Kat Gates-Buettner RU-vid videos. Found Chris' step workouts via a RU-vid suggestion about 11 months ago and have been hooked ever since. After seeing she did other workouts besides step I started doing it all with Chris. I never thought I'd be anything but a beginning stepper, but I can now do pretty much all intermediate moves and some portions of advanced workouts. Just keep practicing and keep having fun!
I've enjoyed step for over 30 years and was thrilled to find Chris's amazing step classes online several years ago! I love doing all levels of Chris's step classes - basic, intermediate and advanced! Chris is exceptionally gifted and talented in step choreography and makes it so much fun!!! Personally, I find doing step to be easier on my joints and just easier in general for me than doing cardio dance or HIIT classes. Thank you so much Chris for all that you do!!!
I found Chris in 2021 when I got bored...sooooooo bored.....with the step classes I'd been doing. She made it fun again and I've been doing her workouts ever since. Thankful for her, her channel, and the fabulous person that she is. Although I can (usually) handle the advanced classes, it's nice to come back to basic now and then. Thank you Chris!
Such a great basic class. I'm at Intermediate though there are days Im tired and still need to move and this work out does it. Once you go full on with the arms you'll be sweating. Thank you!!!
I agree with all of these comments! Chris is a great instructor - very encouraging. I started about a year and a half ago and now do mostly intermediate. I would encourage any newbies to do the tutorials. When I was learning from them, I appreciated the combo video that put the moves together. I still go back to learn more advanced moves or to refresh a move I haven’t done in a while. Thank you Chris!
46 years old. Started exercising a few months ago after not doing so for about 6 years and gaining about 50 lbs. I’ve worked my way up to some of the intermediate workouts. Today I did this workout … with risers! Thank you, Christina.
I have not taken very good care of myself over the past 20 years, but I remembered how much I loved step aerobics. I have been trying videos here and there, but I have officially found my teacher and workout!!!! Thank you so much!!! I have never subscribed to a channel until today, and I’m so excited to get back to my optimal health with the help of your workouts!
I’m an intermediate/advanced stepper but I can’t pass up a step class with Chris, so I don’t let the level stop me. I added an extra set of risers, and this was the perfect follow up to Day One of the challenge! Thanks Chris 😻
This may have been a beginner basic step but I still got a sweat on and heart rate elevated! Goes to show you that you don’t need the high impact step to get a workout! Thanks Chris!
I’m glad you cater to everyone. I am not a beginner but I save these for a shorter workout after another one at a higher speed. Thank you and hopefully 🙏 many more people will love step too. ❤
This was a nice welcome back after missing a week of step with you! I just love your basic step and your upbeat personality! basic is my jam ! Thank you ❤
Thanks Chris! I’m a seasoned stepper but this is perfect for lower energy days when I still want to get off the couch and get some movement in. Plan to do this with two risers for a bit of a challenge since this one is shorter and slow paced. I’ll get a great workout no doubt!! Thanks again Chris 👋🥰🇨🇦🏃🏼♀️👟💪💕
Just finished. Yep! Great workout. If more advanced with step you can up your risers as I did. I’m 56 and not in the best shape at the moment with some health setbacks over the last couple of years and sporadic exercise, but 20 minutes and two risers I was sweaty and challenged at the end. Thanks again Chris! PS Been stepping since the early 1990s I remember walking into an in person step class and thinking I’d NEVER get it (I’m generally uncoordinated at best). It took about 6 full classes for me to catch on back then and keep up with the steps and the class I’ve never liked step workouts with too complicated or fancy choreography I always like it fairly simple. Chris had tons of classes for steppers like me! Step is still my fave cardio. I never seem to get board. Don’t get discouraged if you’re new. Take it slow and stick to the basic classes. You’ll still get an amazing workout. 🥰👋🇨🇦🏃🏼♀️💪💕
This is definitely my thing I love basics ❤🎉once in a blue moon I’ll do a fast one but basic is my thing thank u Chris you’re amazing hun miss seeing Louie and his stepper so adorable 🥰 have a blessed day everyone
This is just what I needed after gynae surgery three days ago. Movement but gentle and smooth. I hope to be back with the advanced soon though! I love that there's something for everyone.
Loved the change in pace and back to basics(protecting some knee pain)approach, I’ve still got a major sweat on so you’re right Chris, it doesn’t have to be super speedy to get an excellent workout.
Chris I so loved this step workout .even though its begginers I loved joining in I love the moves ..I love your step workout sessions Chris. And it was a lot of fun as well.thank you Chris.from daniel.see you tomorow
Great video! I've been getting bored with my workouts so I bought myself a step to switch things up. I've never done step aerobics before and a lot of the videos I've found have been too challenging for me. This was very beginner friendly, the pace was perfect and the moves were easy to keep up with. Looking forward to doing more workouts like this!
This is a great intro class! Not too fast and super easy to follow along. Started doing step with you during the pandemic and love the variety of classes you've made available. Something for everyone!
Perfect class Chris especially if you're just starting out. I began stepping with you probably about 2 years ago now & yes I remember my first class, tripping over, getting my legs mixed up etc etc. Now am at intermediate & slow paced advanced but my favourites are the fast basics & basic/intermediates. Thanks Chris I enjoyed this ❤
Brilliant class. I forgot how much I love step. I’m now returning to step after a few years away, this was perfect for me. I’m so happy I found this channel! Chris is an amazing instructor!
I’m not new to step as I started when I was 17 and I’m now 34. I’ve done more advance workouts but I can tell you that being 4 months post partum with my third, this workout was still great! I’m basically a beginner again with my cardio. So though I can do more, I needed this level to get back into things
Thank you Chris! Loved that basic step. I just finished the 30 minute day 1 lower body challenge and thought I needed just a tinsy wincy bit of cardio.😆 I used to do step at the gym many years ago but being 72 now I did do a couple of your easy step classes a couple of months ago but my knees felt it a little. I do a lot of dancing as well so didn't want to push it. Plus my step is a bit narrow and I don't want to anything fancy and fall off so did this very easy one today. Totally loved it. Got my heart rate up just enough and the 20 minutes was perfect as an add on and also to look after my knees and see how they go with it. I absolutely don't want to do too much so won't always add on after a strength workout! Much love from oz xo
I began last week and today was the first time I completed the entire routine. Thank you so much. I have work out equipment at home but no longer motivated to use them and thankfully I found this.
I used to be an avid stepper , 2 pregnancies and debilitating cardio phobia later ...... I've plucked up the courage to re-start my journey . I thoroughly enjoyed this . Thank you so much for your videos!
👋 Jazz hands 👋 yeah basic mostly my jam - but I'm so ok with it thx Chris for always providing options. So looking forward to Day 2 - ❤💥🐰🖐 Aussie Sally
Hi Chris. Thanks so much for giving me the confidence to give step a go. After watching a few of your amazing videos, today I gave it a try. After slowing it down I managed to follow and complete the workout. Which is amazing considering how uncoordinated I am. Looking forward to getting better and trying more of your videos. Thanks again. Helen.
So glad I found your channel! I used to do step years ago and then I found your class and things came back and it was great!! Thank you!! Looking forward to doing more, and your other classes too!
Love you're 20 Minute - Beginner Step Aerobics Exercise - Basic STEP 378 - 124 BPM it's a great workout and is a really fun one to do especially at home and the exercises are really fun to especially the step aerobics it's a fantastic workout
I LOVE this video! It's perfect for beginners who have never done step. And for us older ladies that aren't as fast and agile lol;. But my favorite part, why I keep coming back to this one, is that it activates my glutes and hip flexors, to make my booty workout (I do after this video) so much better! I lost 70 lbs over the past 16 months and this is what I'm using now to keep it off and build shape. So THANK YOU for these videos!
Been stepping for a few months and came across this basic one. I was able to focus on the step up and the form for knee up etc. It kicked my butt. I thought I was ready for a faster speed but I think slow is harder. Love The variety.
Thank you. Great class for beginners. I have been stepping for over 20 years. I am in my 60”s now and today I needed an easy day and this was perfect. You are a great instructor
My first step(s) back to health, pun intended. I used to do a lot of step aerobics but that was 30years and this is how I started then as well. Many thanks for the great instruction video, sweat pouring down my face and neck. That's the feeling of a good work-out for a beginner.
First session complete! Thanks for this. I need steps and something to think about when I exercise, else I get bored and can only think about being tired! This was just about right. A little fast, and slowing it down was too slow, but I managed to keep up and finish without feeling too exhausted! Will give this a go a few times a week in an attempt to regain my fitness that has vastly reduced over the last 6 years. Thanks again ☺️
First class! I had to slow it down halfway through and finished sweaty. I really like it- thus mus be ood for hip strength and cardio? Thank you. So much Chris. You made it easy to follow along 🌻
I'm new here, I was looking through youtube for beginners step classes as I'm doing 100 miles fundraiser for breast cancer research charity in the UK and the weather is dreary, I'm so glad I found your channel, your routine has been the easiest to follow so far 😊 you've got yourself a new subscriber 😀
Hi Christina, so glad I found you on here. I’m from Brisbane, Australia and just getting back into it after 20 years, am 44 now and less coordinated. Good to learn all the basics again. Aiming to improve my fitness and do dumbbell and core workouts too. Just realised I’m using my dogs account haha 🤷🏻♀️Teresa
Great basic step class. I wanted something no fuss for a hot day. I started step back in '05 with FiTV. I loved step so much. In 2008 I got sick and was paralyzed and on life support. I recovered, but had to learn to walk and use my hands again. I didn't think I would be able to do step again. I sold some of my DVD's. I nearly sold my step. It took a really long time and I have neuropathy in my feet, but I was able to get back to exercise routines again around 2012, and eventually step. I figure to be an intermediate stepper now. I can't quite keep up with advanced at 63. I still love step, but I love to pump iron as well, and it's neat to combine the two.
awesome dear chris😊.....i am normally an advanced Stepper....but...in between i really liked basic step...you are an Inspiration 😊❤thx ....See you later live for day2 of the challenge 😊
I almost bailed on this because I am sore from yesterday and the day before but I sweat so much that it feels good to know I’m actually into exercise for the first time in a while because of discovering these!
Thank you so much for this basic lesson. Normally I do your advanced lessons and I love them. But last week we found steps in the basement of our gymnastics club and now I'm going to try to teach my sports colleagues step aerobics. I've never done this before but with your great instructions here I'm sure it will work. I'm really curious. Wish me luck!
I've had my stepper for over a year and this is my first time using it. I started back working out in August and kept saying "Im going to tackle that stepper"....well I have done it and I really enjoyed the challenge. Did I have to slow the video down? YES!. Did I have to pause and rewind a few times YES!. But I will be back tomorrow to do it again and again and again. This is a great beginner video.
Hello this is my second step video of yours and I love it. I am not coordinated so hated step when I was younger but decided to give it a go and buy a step and try your beginners classes. I am 49 and recently joined a slimming group so hopefully it will assist and it's fun to do in the comfort of your own home.
Good morning Kim!! I am so so happy this worked for you!! Also, how great to try something that you tried before and did not like. Keep moving and keep us updated on your progress
Today was my 4th time doing this video. Today other than missing a few steps I didn't stop once! I'm so proud of myself! Your video is great. Thank you. Tomorrow I am going to do one of your arm and ab videos. Wish me luck!
Just come back from a holiday so thought I would give this routine a go. I really enjoyed it. My plan is to do this one for the next couple of weeks or so and then move onto one of the 30 minute ones. Any suggestions?
