Coconut oil is definitely not my friend, olive and avocado oil are bae!!.. Hair tip: be open to advice, but LISTEN to your hair!!

yup i can't agree more about listening to your hair. I used to just follow what all the natural bloggers used to say. But after I started listening to my hair I have witnessed significant growth.

14 is ironic bc the natural hair movement was initially created for tighter curled naturals, so us accepting our hair should've been a given, instead we found ourselves a new hair insecurity (not having loose enough curls) and thus perpetuated more hair hate, that we are only now undoing.

One thing I noticed about all the 4c naturals I've seen here on RU-vid that have gotten a lot of length is the vast majority are obviously FIT! Considering how much obesity plagues the black community, I don't think that is a coincidence. As someone who struggles with building healthy habits guys, I KNOW it's hard as hell, but if you're serious about growing your hair out as fast as possible, or are at a length plateau, try EATING RIGHT AND EXERCISE REGULARLY! (If you don't already). What I think happens a lot of times when we eat too much crap is that our bodies do not get enough nutrition, and proper nutrition is necessary for healthy hair growth. It IS possible to suffer from malnutrition when you eat a lot of crap and/or are overweight. They call them "empty calories" for a reason! Limit the amount of junk food and processed foods you consume, drink tons of water, and MOVE MORE. Not only will you look and feel better all around, but it WILL help your hair grow faster as well.

@blueangeloftheseas
@blueangeloftheseas 7 лет назад
STILL STRIVING I washed, moisturised, plaited and unravelled for life and I think that's actually what has given me single strand knots. I don't have a lot of split ends but my hair curls upon intake, I ended up cutting alot. I think I'll cut it down even more and start over. I've been natural for most of my life so I should've known better
@pri_shay_dior

Exactly!!!!! I was like, "maybe I'm doing my wash and go's wrong then." Lol. As much as I would like to show off my coils, I always end up trimming 1/4 inch trying to get rid of knots.

*You probably won't see this, but I hope you do* | I'm 13, and for a while now I've been feeling really insecure about my arms. I notice how confident and proud you are to be in your body ( with broady type - muscular arms ) I was just hoping you would make a video on how to be confident with musuclar arms . I will say Im confident in the rest of my body, *sorry im using confident so much lol* , And i've been watching your hair videos . love from boston xx

@pammmeee9055
@pammmeee9055 7 лет назад
Meep A Cake This might seem simple but.. do push-ups, even if you can only do 5, do 5 twice a day, work up to 20. my arms never looked better than when I did push-ups. not overly muscular but toned and cut-like and I would always get compliments. i stopped and now they are back to looking skinny, yuck.

Awww baby! I danced for years, and when I was growing up, people used to say I was manly. I had abs, muscular arms, strong thick legs from dance. I used to feel badly because I thought I wasn't girly enough, I was too manly." But the gag is, a lot of the boys making fun of me ended up having a huge crush on me before I left high school. They liked that I was in shape lol. Being fit and healthy is NORMAL and GOOD. Don't let anyone make you feel you aren't pretty or desirable because you don't have arm fat! The only way to get over it is by wearing sleeveless tops, crop tops, or whatever shows off your arms. I used to be nervous about wearing sleeveless shirts because I had broad shoulders, but I got over it over time. Just go for it! Get used to owning your body in this summer heat

YES YES YES queen, you've saved many naturals hair. This video should go viral. I thought it was going to be the cliché list of 'use silk scarf/pillow, protective styling, do LOC etc lol .... But naawww you've blessed us with points that to me can make a huge different in our hair growth and health. Plus you kept it so REAL that some points are indeed hard. I don't know about others, but some RU-vidrs make it look like they do everything right, making me feel like a natural hair criminal lol. New subbie

Im 3c 4a and girl there times when the 4 takes over! One of the problems i had was there weren't enough 3c videos for guidance! So i was following tips for 4c and couldn't understand why my hair was breaking off! Duh your hair isn't as coarse i said to myself. 3c tutorials don't style coarse enough so when i finally found combination videos i was able to take the best tips from each one now my hair is really stsrting to blossom and becoming more manageable. So i was feeling you when you said not to let the journey of influence my journey. Things happen in their own time and i truly love my hair now! 3yrs and counting. On the right path for 1+yrs. Keep on being real!

Guuurrl this video was definitely meant to be. I'm just starting my journey and I'm ready to cry my eyes out. I've been in braids for so long I forgot I had type 4c hair. Delusional! But oooow chile, I've been telling myself how much I love myself and love my hair (to not give up) like every other hour! I really appreciate your honesty and sharing your journey. I just hope I'm not too old now to get my hair back popping! 😉 Thanks again and keep up the good work! Wish me luck, prayers, kum-by-ya and all that good stuff because I'm gonna need it! 😁

I freaking love you 😫😫😫😫❤️❤️, Like literally 15 out of 20 of the mistakes you made, I was making especially with the shrinkage and hair texture thing I was dealing with.

Love your hair and on screen personality. One of my mistakes was washing my hair too often/co-washing to often and thinking gel was the answer.

Wash n Gos are a NO for fine hair! So many single strand knots. I learned to braid up my hair or do a loose twist. Put a cap on it and go. I don't do any protective styles like box braids bc they pull too much on my fine hair. I will either wear a wig or wear crochet hairstyles to keep my hair braided for a month. Oh, and coconut oil is trash. Only good for cooking and for my body lol
