I am flabbergasted every time I hear your knowledge and faith and confidence in God and this church. You remind me of Saul, trying to do the right thing as you understood it, then finding the right church and going full steam ahead. Your gospel mission will not take years of wandering the nations because you have the internet, but i do believe you will reach as many people if not more around the world with your testimonies and light and understanding of the gospel. Congratulations on your baptism, David. Everything will be gloriously integrated together when you receive the blessings of the temple. One important key to understanding the endowment is contained in 2 Nephi 6, which ties nicely into your love for the words of Isaiah. Become very familiar with it and your understanding will be greatly enhanced.

I'm so impressed with how well you've grasped the fullness of the gospel. We are so blessed to have you in the church and as a powerful force for good on RU-vid!

I think you'd enjoy the church's Old and New Testament institute manuals. They are chock full of good quotes from prophets and apostles related to chapters and verses of the Holy Bible.

David, how much about the gathering of Israel and the Abrahamic covenant did you understand before joining the church? From listening to you it sounds like you understood it before coming into the church. Do you find that many evangelicals understand the gathering of Israel in a similar fashion? I am just so excited for you. Your experience in the restored church of Jesus Christ is going to be wonderful. My 41 years of membership have been a blessing to me like a fountain of living water. The Lord enlightens my mind each day and I find myself being ever more in awe of his greatness. I can't wait for you to attend the temple as these doctrines you speak of are taught there in concentrated form and to all of our senses.

David, this is powerful. Paul was truly empowered by God... and is such a example and blessing to us all. A fun side note... John, the Beloved... your other apostolic hero... who's Gospel you have been memorizing... and who out lived Paul... was sent with Peter and James (the original Meridian-day Saints First Presidency)... to pass the "baton" or mantle of Priesthood Authority and Power to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery--Praise God the day of darkness was done. Peter and James came as resurrected beings. You may or may not yet have learned that... Joseph Smith learned that John came as a translated being. The New Testement alludes to this in a couple of places--that John would not taste of death. John, like the three Nephites that the Savior appointed when He visited the America's... continues to live upon the earth and for nearly two millennia has continued the work of the Lord. I would be very unsurprised... if the day will come that the Lord shows us all the work John has been doing... to learn that he has hand an enormous roll to play in helping shape all the key events of the world leading to and preparing the way for the Restoration and the gathering of Israel: key political events, the Reformation-etc, the American Revolution, the Founding Father's work, etc... and all the work needed to prepare the Lost tribes of Israel for the day when they would have messengers sent again to teach and gather them. Joseph also learned that when Moses and Elijah came on the Mount of Tranfiguation... they came as translated beings (Christ had not yet been resurrected... so they could not have come as resurrected beings)... to give the Priesthood Keys that they were the stewards of. They came again to the Temple in Kirtland to restore the Keys of the Gathering of Israel and the Sealing Power that binds on earth and in heaven.

One of the former prophets Gordon B Hinckley said to our brothers and sisters joining us from Protestant and catholic backgrounds is to not lose what you had previously but bring what you have learned and let us build together. It's interesting how much you've already learned in your time and nothing you've said thus far is contrary to what latter day saints teach. The Lord has prepared you well.

Cleon Skowson talked about seeing a valley with a river about 17 miles towards the Red Sea that he thought might be where Lehi and family first stopped. The river only runs visibly on the surface five months out of the year. The rest of the year it run under ground.

When you said "Christ will then come to His bride" you struck something in me I just learned one morning through the Holy Ghost. Who is Christ's wife? When a man marries a Woman, who's name does she take? By what name is the Saviour's Wife called? I think hereon you can now fill in the missing blanks to the conclusion. I treasure this. It was taught me from on high, I didn't share this lightly because the world doesn't appreciate these things and as we learn them the Lord has said we should keep them sacred for that reason thereof.

You are the modern day Paul. You are paul restored. So much knowledge. Conviction. Determination to do the Lords will.

I thought the same about Lehi's and his family! Just like Abraham! Lehi didn't know where they were going, not really, they just knew God told him to go, that Jerusalem and the Prophets would be destroyed. Then the kids had to to all the way back 2 times! I wondered, why couldn't the Lord te!l them all at once, go back get , Ishmael and his family, and btw get the brass plates while you are there ! We can't use our own wisdom. That would have ended badly!

Were you astonished to find such depth and linkage between doctrines of the bible and book of mormon?

Here is a thought thread that I wonder about having been a member for 70 years and never been even close to the evangelistic way of thinking; it has to do with the docrine of the trinity. Do evangelists believe in the resurrection of Jesus having a physical body? We know He had one because, based on the law of witnesses, He appeared to the quorum of apostles (and others), who were sore afraid, and said, "I am not a spirit. Touch me and feel me, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones as ye see me have." That, being the case, when did He die a second time? How did he become a spirit?

A friend of Ours decided to leave the Church today. Supposedly because she felt lied to, but I dont see it, Pride I suspect is the Greater issue. However you want to look at it there is something that the Brethren have spoken out against that she is choosing to continue doing and believes they were wrong. Its her Choice to make.
