Latin was the language of Ancient Rome and the proto language of modern romance languages. Even the roman empire fell but the legacies of Roman empire are still living in the cultures and languages of Spanish, Italian and Romanians. Thank you sol invictus for very valuable deep quotes.

The last roman empire was the east roman empire, byzantium. Romans have nothing in common with spain, italy and romania, they are german barbarian tribes
