Thank you! 100%. Grad school was a long series of up-hill battles, lots of rejection....then going on the job market....oof, that was even worse. I'm working on a video about the bleak academic job market. So Much Rejection.
I haven't, not completely. It was a perpetual feeling during grad school ..especially during the PhD...it continued during my first TT job, and even my current one (not because of students, faculty, staff, administration or anything like that). Therapy was tremendously helpful during while I was doing fieldwork and then dissertating. Had I had any sort of familial support group, that would have helped too.
