I found your channel through your “professor’s EDC” video and had no idea you taught at APSU! I did some GTA work there during grad and that’s what led me to pursue a career in academia. I’d love to chat more about your experiences and I sent you a friend request on LinkedIn.

I haven’t posted in a long while, BUT I have gotten a lot of tattoos since this was posted: backpiece (done). Added panther/2 cobras to my stomach (both Becca Lerner) other knee is done. And a few pieces here and there. Currently working on finishing my legs. If I get a chance and some motivation at some point, I’ll try to dust the channel off and post an update video.

do u think pop culture and internet culture is different? like maybe a subset of each other but i feel like the internet has impacted our generation way more differently than any forms of media and platforms ever had. we are constantly using and exposed to the internet, we have tiktok, vlogs, reddit, twitter, fandom and stan culture, memes, edits, discord, snapchat, musically, dance and music trends, self improvement videos, viral videos that come and go so fast. i just think its a very different category and also it deserves its own field of study

Democracy. People vote to be better off financially or otherwise, and the only way for them to better themselves in a democracy is to vote to worsen the circumstances of "others." Democracy fragments a nation, ruins society and eventually collapses it. It happens over and over again. Continuously. We are ruled by trash. Government is trash. It is culture vs society. Culture robs you of individual freedom, privacy, resources, and eventually integrity. A ruling establishment is behind all cultures and it requires governing bodies - states, churches, and corporations and uses correlated body fixated narcissists, sociopaths, and psychopaths to front, manage, and inevitably ruin a culture by the decadece of the inevitable correlating body fixated gynocentrics and homosexuals while the ruling establishment is building up another culture somewhere else to profit from. Culture is like a recurring bitch. Society is based on voluntary interaction. If the politicians - that society voted for - actually worked to solve our problems, they would indeed disolve their own profession. With weaponised currencies, radical nationalism, and religion, they prey on the poor people's needs, and the rich people's fears, dividing and conquering the people while dividing power amongst themselves and consolidating a system with a well armed security detail, police, military, and a bureucracy that is nearly impenetrable and works in effect for the totalitarian new world order. Government by democracy is an orchestrated battlefield of ideologies where the people vote out of greed and to limit the rights of others. While the power seemingly shifts from the political left to right and visa versa, all people's rights are eroded, and an ever consolidating and expanding political power structure and establishment is empowered. Conquest achieved by the Ruling Elite. Democracy is the worst idea ever. Just ask Socrates if you don't believe me. Oh, I almost forgot; people voted to kill him for speaking out against democracy. Democracy is dystopic. The Ruling Establishment is a cult.

As a Marxist writer, I’m thinking of making video essays for RU-vid and looked up how to do it using Keynote and somehow I stumbled across probably one of the only other Keynote tutorials done by somebody at least friendly to Marxism, so that was cool. I don’t give a subscription to how-to videos usually but this one I did. I appreciate it. I am hoping to give a look into the rural Midwest and organizing in these areas. Being that they are mostly white, conservative communities, it can be hard to make en roads with labor, anti-racist and anti-capitalist views, and ideas here, but it is possible. Building class consciousness is important everywhere if you want class solidarity.

Thank you! I got a new UX research position focusing on AI just recently. It's really interesting/great. Over the last year or so, I've been trying to spend less and less time editing videos/making content. After 3 years of working full time and making videos several times a week, video content started to feel less like a hobby and more like a job. Especially so when I was keen on making videos about UX research/design. It felt like I had no break from work on weekends. If that makes any sense. Hope you're well! And thank you!!!

@@UXmatt That is great news - congrats on your new position. I totally understand this - I had a RU-vid channel that I greatly enjoyed, but I started my doctoral program and decided it was all just too much to keep going at the same time. Maybe someday I'll go back to it? No matter what, thank you for your content! I'm reading the books you recommended. I'm thinking I may transition down the road into UX research/design as well from being a librarian. You have inspired me!
