If you love a highly creative person, you probably experience moments when it seems like they live in a completely different world than you. Truth is, they do. But trying to change them isn’t nearly as effective as trying to understand them.

+The Time Doc Don't be scared! If you have so many ideas, you should start putting them out there! Because the sooner you get rejected, the sooner you can try again, and the sooner you'll get used to it. Even if the first 5, 10, 15 or 100 people don't like your idea, the one person that does will help you turn it into something beautiful and it will show everyone what you can do. I believe in you!

I feel like everyone else is going to say but whatever. All these questions are a Yes or No question, and my answer was Yes for all of them. I feel like it's good to know that I'm highly creative, but it's also hard because I know not everyone else is. The reason why it's hard is because people don't get why I don't do this or that, they don't get it. But if your still in school, having all these questions Yes wouldn't matter of how or why you learn, you simply must do what everyone else does. Having all these problems and people don't get it or they do but don't get you. I have experienced every one of these. My point across all of this is, is that it's fine is no one gets you, it's fine if people get you but they dont like you, it's fine if you only get yourself. I'm betting that 45% of people that took this quiz are not highly creative. But saying that I am highly creatives it's hard be like this sometimes, like it said "highly creative people are mostly full of happy and depressed" and that's true. I know this comment won't be looked at or commented on saying "same!, I totally get you". But that's fine, cause I'm speaking for myself and everyone else that agrees. -by the 11 year old 😜

I struggle at school because my brain works different than others. My grades are good and I like a lot of the subjects, but I don't like having to do what all the others do and nobody really understands me. And then there are the mental health problems caused by the thought that nobody's brain works like mine. That's what makes the school system so bad. They should focus on how the students learn and not what they learn. Because if everyone could learn in his own way, there were less problems with the health of students. I get what you say here and I'm feeling the same way.

@Bownimations01
@Bownimations01 7 лет назад
It's hard and frustrating and sometimes downright depressing. It makes you want to cry when something questions who you are whether it's a school system or someone calling you strange. It's you against the world at times and you feel lost and scared and alone. "No one will find me," you begin, "so there's no point of calling out." And soon you fall, entering a downward spiral as you go "No one understands me and that's okay. I just have to deal with it, to accept it." Everyone wonders why you do what you do and why you say what you say. It's different, it's weird, it's not at all normal in any way. You give up hope that someone would understand and begin to unknowingly push people away who might. And that just makes the cycle repeat. I get it. I struggle with the same thing. Even just recently, I was trying to explain how my mind worked to a friend and a stranger overheard, saying some pretty rude things because they didn't get it. It only made me more flustered and my explanations worse. I don't know how to explain something no one else deals with. And his words weren't the first, nor the last, but were still hurtful. It reminded me I'm different, and that I didn't fit it. Or when I don't understand something and my teachers get irritated. I've almost dropped out of high school because I couldn't understand they way they taught. And my own family constantly brings up how different I am from them in arguments. "Why don't you understand??" "When I was your age, I can do this!" "I don't understand why you're like this!" Etc. etc. etc. I've cried more times than I can count because of my differences. But over time, I learned that my differences make me unique and that my small circle of friends don't try to understand but tries to be there for me instead. It's my differences that attracted them to me and made them stay. My quirks, my thoughts, my sense of humor, my art, my dreams, it all leads me to something bigger than myself. And if Id given up, well needless to say I wouldn't exactly be here right now. I wouldn't have made friends or gotten my diploma or started college or find a dream. I would have nothing, and if I was still around but not as I am now, I can't imagine living day by day with nothing but the norm to keep me going. It's my differences that brings light into my world and what should be embraced even if there are those who don't understand. No one truly understand you, not even yourself. People come close, but they can never get you. And that's what it needs to be. Because if everyone got each other, and we got ourselves, how can anyone really live? There's nothing to discover and no where to go. It'll be bland. So embrace yourself and others and keep being different but never loose hope or just accept that no one can help you through the woods you've lost yourself in.

Yeah, like Socrates said, it was better to at least trying, and keep looking for the truth, and not despair. Also you find that people are connected, and if you are down it brings them down too...and it is the opposite, where someone who is joyful, and in that flow state, it can transmit to others as well. But there is so much art that is not created like that, that for a long time I got tired of looking at art and listening to music that was going to leave me empty and feeling worse. Anyway, even if I am lot older, I think your message is very helpful, so thanks. I am in a creative slump myself now. I think it is depressing if no one wants to buy your art. I know I should not be like that, but...

Idk why, but for me, first impressions on a piece of art is one of the most important things, like for example, if you say, "Oh, that's cute!" and you are about to follow it up with something, I just die inside. It's just the initial reaction, that first few words(or breathtaking moments) is what is important to me.

I can't talk to people about anything like this because that won't understand, I'm 12 turning 13 and I have a couple of stories that I've been building up for around 4 years it puts pressure on me that I won't be good enough and I actually sometimes think I'm mentally ill from how dark my stories can get, I even hear voices in my head sometimes either random or sarcastic or hurtful and telling me to give up completely. Wow. I am amazed. I never really thought of it that way. Now I know why I do a lot of things and it explains my entire self and personality. Even why I don't get along with my family and have heated arguments with my mother and father about work. I'm going to show them this video so they understand what is happening what why I do the things I do. They never think that "I don't know" is a good enough answer when for me it is the answer to everything. Even the things I do and my feelings. This video also explained a lot of why I have such strange emotional breakdowns and then be super happy an hour later. They always ask a lot of things when I shut down and stop talking, ignoring everything and everyone even if it gets me in trouble, pestering and getting angry at me when I say "I don't know".

Same here, but i never created anything just because of the way my parents have raised me, im very disappointed of them, they never brought me the right equipment and environment. But there's an error in the video, Creative people get bored from things if they cant find fun and purpose in it, like art projects, i really get interested at first, but later it gets boring for me because there's too much hardwork and i dont like the fact that every one has to do his thing, i prefer we all do it together, but for example some games i never get bored from them if they're updated frequently and are my type. Just im glad im a creative genius but the thing that makes me mad is the fact that i was raised badly.

these are all pretty much straight on. personally i dont use procrastination, i just end up doing it, and actually i work terribly under pressure. but then again maybe these studies were focused on adults, so that could be a factor. also: i dont know if you used depression to describe an emotion but if so please keep in mind depression isnt just a feeling people get. its actually a disorder- MDD, major depressive disorder. but either way this is a great video and very accurate! :)

Being creative is nothing but a punishment (said with sadness in my voice)... i work at a retail company that makes me do the same thing month after month and it feels like a prison. Every day i would tell myself to send my CV to other companies, but then i would imagine selling myself in an interview... i will never be able to tell my experience in a way that they would understand. i would sound stupid and uneducated and will not be given the opportunity to prove myself. I can do anything... i just need the world to believe in me and give me a chance.

lots of points in this video. What if why not Oh yes then one can connect dots, love that. Cycles yes and Squirrel lol. Love that downtime . And if I'm not in the right area I can do nothing. I love telling stories when I'm on vacation I'd rather talk and meet people than ride a Rollercoaster. Procrastination wins again lol. Connecting the dots of relationships and how and why of things is amazing. Interesting video.

I can hear my wife say "That's you!" I'm 65 and retired. Too many of my colleagues ... I'm not sure what they're doing. But I can't quit. I'm too involved trying to inspire the minds and imagination of people especially young people. The universe is vast. The more I learn, the more I realize how little I know. I refuse to be a chick withdrawing back into a shell, withdrawing from society, and believing that my life is coming to and end. It's not.

As in every generalization, there are so many exceptions to these claims that they make the claims seem incorrect. Check out "Scientists Are More Creative Than You Might Imagine"to see that creative people can be methodical, disciplined, and organized.

Every thing mentioned is spot on, so why do I feel like these things are not good qualities to have? Ive even been accused of some of these things from employers who were not too thrilled. So if I try to avoid some of these attributes will my creative desire go away?

I matched every single one, I ended up feeling like a creative junky though, because I do work better under pressure. And yes I love the high. For the 10 year old girl, when I was in school I couldn't ever concentrate in class unless I was drawing on side margins while taking notes.

I want to write this cuz i know everyone who seeks this video is probably a highly creative person/artist. Creative people have trouble staying focused due to so many thoughts and aspirations that you want to accomplish. Just stay focused on the things you want, but you have to decide for yourself that thing you want is truly your passion and is really what you want. Just make that decision that you will chase it %100, if you dont dedicate your mind to it fully, you will eventually lose interest.

ppkeaton The video has many contradictions. People coming here either try to make themselves feel better or something. Like why do you need a video to know if you’re creative or not. I came to this vid to say this and not to try and convince myself I fit in this criteria of being a “highly creative person”.
@donjtrump

@@mcrainbowoeslak1603 im just saying its probably mainly creative people who are seeking videos about creativity so they can understand how to handle it, which is what i did, idk what youre talking about
