As real and as beautiful and as true as the friendship between Luca and Alberto can feel-and as important as sometimes those imperfect friendships can be in our development. Pixar still knows how to craft a great, resonant story. It might just nurse out a tear or two from even jaded moms and dads.
Dude why do you guys call EVERYTHING “stole” or “copied” there all DISNEY and just because both of them put there head off the water, or held a fork, IS NOT A BIG DEAL Technically it would be they copied themselves
The Little Mermaid, one of my favorite since I was two years old. I've always loved how fun, brave, curious, clever, and kind Ariel is. Plus, we have the same kind of hair and eye color. She's always been one of my favorite princesses, I just love her so much.
LOL After watching Luca, I figured he and his underwater village would be like what the mermaids or mer-people from The Little Mermaid* would've evolved into by the mid 20th century. Given they're both Disney movies too, it doesn't surprise me if they're similar. (*Or Luca is The Little Mermen, by way of the Animal Planet's 2010s documentary 'Mermaid The Body Found'...lol)
Luca is an original film with the inspiration of Enrico Casarosa's childhood, the best Pixar movie of Thai summer. Two sea monster having their unforgettable summer experience with their newly found human friend 🇮🇹💙
@@fatmesali6825 ok so the reason why I said that is because that the movie Luca just came out so then people are already making a fan base out of the movie Luca btw sorry to make you uncomfortable cuz I do support pride
@@dylangeltzeiler946 it did eventually get released in theaters the the US on March 22, 2024 (more than 1000 days after it streamed and on former date of Snow white live action remake) and ticket price was same as for the 1989 little mermaid was ($5 per ticket )
Another similarity is that The Little Mermaid and Luca take place in Italy. The only difference is that The Little Mermaid takes place in the 19th-century while Luca takes place between the 1950s and 60s.
If anything it'd take place in Greece, since Triton was a son of the Greek god, Poseidon. (Note, even though the original Hans Christian Anderson tale takes place in Denmark, we're talking the Disney-fied setting here.)
@@zofiareitsch1920Luca was basically a modern day rip off of the little mermaid, the trailers made it look like he was going on an adventure but it was just boring. It wasn’t well deserved..
@@DrawntoHelluva 301 days later, Luca returned to theaters with average price $5 per ticket (if available to watch at home/streaming before being available in theaters whether 6 weeks or 300 weeks, if not day-and-date the tickets are discounted to the prices of 1989, which was the year the original mermaid was released to theaters)
There was 1 thing that wasn't mentioned and that was Luca Leaving with Giulia like Ariel left with prince Eric. Because at the end of The Little Mermaid Ariel's father used his magic to turn her into a human permanently so she could be with Prince Eric. And later in the movie Luca we learn that Luca told Alberto that he wanted to go to school with Giulia and at the end of the movie Giulia has to pack for school and Luca still wants to go so his parents are happy for him and give him permission to go and Alberto is happy for Luca to so Luca gets on the train. And i know that Giulia isn't Luca's love interest but still they still left together so that counts as another moment. (🤓)
Bonus... Just this once: “Prince Eric: You seem very familiar to me. Have we met?” (Max barking) “Prince Eric: We have met. I knew it, You’re the one! The one I’ve been looking for. What’s your name?” 3:42 Announcer substitute voice: Ariel.
They may be often compared, but the Little Mermaid is too cliched for me while there is more depth and a breath of fresh air in Luca. And if we want to talk about family friendliness which is often associated with Disney, then Luca is more associated with it. Should kids learn about ‘true love’ at that age?
Well that, and “Splash”, a film that was produced by Jack Dylan Grazer’s uncle Brian Grazer: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5K5_sGzckvc.html
and 301 days after Little Mermaid live action remake we got Luca finally on the big screen (worth the 1008 day wait from its original Disney+ release date). @@raihanfarrelofficial
Is it just me or did you just completely forget about the little mermaid as soon as luca came out. Also I wouldn't call it "copied" or "stolen" maybe inspiration, the film is original
Right off the bat after watching Luca. I was wondering if Luca was the same universe as The Little Mermaid. Then I searched for answers and got this video. Maybe it is, but only Disney can confirm that
Yes we can, and I’ll say that is a false equivalence fallacy. Unlike Ariel who permanently changed her species and gave up her voice to be with Eric on land, Luca didn’t have to change his species nor give up his voice for Alberto, since Luca and Alberto are both sea monsters. Luca and Alberto both can live as sea monsters on land, provided that Luca and Alberto expose themselves to water. Unlike Ariel who hated being a mermaid, Luca didn’t hate being a sea monster. He was just curious about the surface world. Luca didn’t have to go to a sea witch to transform himself into a human because he can easily turn into one whenever he steps foot on dry land.
@@beethovensfidelio It's an hypocrisy because he also planned to run away and leave his family. Apparently you have a free pass to leave your family as long as you do that because of someone of the same gender. What's next? Having a free pass to cheat as long as you're doing that with someone of the same gender? Oh! Wait a second.... we already have a music video trying to send this wrong message... it's called "girls like girls" yeah.... media is really hypocrite nowadays.
Well the creators who made luca are basically the same creator who made the little mermaid and the person who voiced luca is gonna be the voice of that yellow fish that I forgot his name and he is gonna voice that yellow fish in a future live show at Disney I think....
1) I don't think it's copying, but yes, some of the things are similar. Disney reuses stuff a lot, but I think that both are amazing movies in their own ways. I loved so so so many things!! :) 2) Another thing, though unrelated to the first thing I said, and honestly.. kind of unrelated to the video... I find it really interesting that Luca had legs when he lived under the sea, but he didn't need to use them to swim because of his tail. Basically Luca's tail (and others) is a tail that drags on the ground when they are in sea/merpeople form (I feel like I'm being rude if I can them sea monsters) on land like when it rains, but Ariel and others tails are instead of legs completely.... I feel like the way I described this makes no sense but hopefully it kind of makes sense.. Have a beautiful day!!
Disney put every movie in each movie and Luca has alot of every movie Toystory-explore- -finding Nemo- underwater- Human fish Arel- It,s called Actually as help...
Luca and Ariel is not real they were both made from Disney plus perhaps! The movie Luca just came out like a few weeks ago people really need to stop wining and saying this movie did this and this movie did that..
Yeah the commercials alone gave me Little Mermaid and Ponyo vibes. Disney ofter recycles their storylines. There is nothing new under the sun after all
