Set in a beautiful seaside town on the Italian Riviera, Disney and Pixar’s original feature film “Luca” is a coming-of-age story about one young boy experiencing an unforgettable summer filled with gelato, pasta and endless scooter rides. Luca (voice of Jacob Tremblay) shares these adventures with his newfound best friend, Alberto (voice of Jack Dylan Grazer), but all the fun is threatened by a deeply-held secret: they are sea monsters from another world just below the water’s surface.

My dad is from Genova, Italy and he cried seeing this movie. It looked SO Similar to when he was a kid (also portarosso isn't a real town, but monterosso is. Monterosso is a town bordering genova and liguria.)

alberto's voice actor has a mini-series called we are who we are and it's really fucking good. it takes place in an american base in italy and the whole show got the feeling of being a black sheep, an outcast and having issues with being able to feel like you belong, just like Luca. it was directed by call me by your name's director. you should check it out

Please understand that Disney and Pixar are not the same thing. Disney owns Pixel Animation Studios but Disney movies are completely different.

Luca has a special place in my heart because when the movie came out my Best friend of 10 years moved to Mexico. We saw each other litterly every week at least once or twice, so its been hard getting used to not seeing him. We have known each other since he was 1 and I was 3. The scene where Luca leaves really touched my heart and holds a special place in it too❤🥲

I loved Luca and Alberto and when I saw Jake’s interview about him recording in his mom’s closet, I kept thinking about him yelling Stupido and his mom opening the closet door and it’s hilarious
