myozbubble I think her being so tall definitely helps her. I am only 5’3 with big boobs and a tummy and I’d like to see some styling for that body type to hide the tummy. I can’t wear a peplum top or any kind of flowy tops without looking like a clown.
Well, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say it’s gonna be hard to get volunteers with seriously big tummies to model for this type of video... usually people are too shy or embarrassed, at least this lady offered to give her time to help people.
Honestly, tying ANYTHING around your waist, which is THAT BIG, will just make your stomach look bigger! Especially that huge white thick sweater! Don't know why ANYONE would ever wear something which adds bulk using thick fabric, & tie it into a big knot, bow, or even a little fabric tie on one's capris, long slacks, or skirt in front. You're just ADDING MORE BULK!!! 😵 Stay with FLAT FRONT PANTS, no matter what length. And don't add anything, They idea is to flatten and give the illusion that you have a flat stomach. Flat front slacks whether dressy black or blue denim, which zip shut on the side or are "pull on" w/ hidden back elastic at waist helps the most ☺ Does anyone else understand the way this works? Just don't add a thick white sweater, tied in front (adding more volume than she had to begin with) Can hardly wait for cool fall weather!
I know you were trying to help people with a tummy but it's really hard to visualize when you're using somebody who weighs about 100 pounds and does not have a protruding tummy. I think you should've use somebody who has the muffin top and really needs help to disguise or detract from the stomach. The other thing is just because someone has a larger tummy issue doesn't mean that they're going to run around wearing black or gray all the time. Everybody likes color and black isn't necessarily the be all and all slimming color of all. I was disappointed with this video.
She never said to wear black all the time. It was just one of MANY options she put out there. Her model...who was completely appropriate for this video...does not weigh 100 pounds either. I'm sure it was not easy to find volunteers for this.
Your model Kelly looks good and I don't think her tummy is actually much of a problem at all but more so her height seems to be! I am tall too (5"10) and the first thing I noticed about the outfits she is wearing throughout this video is that most of the tops are way too short for her torso! Do you agree? Maybe this could be another subject for a video? I think it is a challenge for tall women to find tops and trousers (and skirts! They are so often too short.) that would fit properly.
Your channel just keeps getting better and better! I love when you use real models with actual "figure flaws". You have a lovely figure, but sometimes it is hard to imagine an outfit you model on my curvy, busty figure.
Thank you so much, Gwenn... that is exactly why I went to the extra effort of recruiting Kelli and all of the added shoot time. I appreciate your support. These are not easy to do. Erin xo
Kelly you are so courageous, and we truly appreciate you being a model!!! It's very helpful to see the do's and don'ts with the various pieces/garments on someone other than the fabulous Erin. Thanks for showing us all of those useful and practical tips. Hugs from Canada xxxxx
I LOVE this, thank you! After 2 babies back to back, my tummy is like it's never been before! I also really appreciate the extra step by finding someone to model this for you.
Four years after this video came out, I finally ran across it. Thank you for making it and Thank you to Kelly! These tips will always apply and will be timeless.
Thank you so much for not only the content, but the delivery as well! I am 53 years old and I just want to look and feel good and the video made it simple and friendly without pretentiousness! Thank you ladies_ I'm going to watch more!
I am 72 years old and focused on my oval shape and beauty treatment during the pandemic. While looking at some treatments today (3/14/22), I discovered this video. Boy, I am grateful. Busbee has given me enough information to enhance my appearance. Thank you so much for your research and sharing.
You're trying to show people how to look slimmer by hiding the tummy first of all the person you're using is skinny there's no tummy maybe want to try this with a heavier person that has layers of tummy but I do enjoy the tips and thank you for teaching how to use clothing to cover up...
I realized my bloated stomach was inflammation. Put on a support belt from surgery, waistline dwindled down. Not always, like a bra gotta strip that off as soon as I get home is what we all know so well. I know a support garment helps the midsection and found a large selection of these, cant wait to get my waist trainer at the-skys-the-limit-solutions.myshopify.com/collections/waist-trainers. Don't wear it all the time and learn what anti-inflammatory foods to consume.
I have a flat tummy but a very unfortunately placed colostomy bag. So, in a sense, I’m also dealing with a large tummy. I always feel really insecure, but I want to look fashionable and not just hide under baggy and long clothes with my skinny legs poking out like splinters. Thanks for the inspiration.
I love that you used a model so that we’d get a better idea of how your tips would help hide our problem area. And Kelly looks amazing!!! Thanks for volunteering as a model, Kelly.
Kelly is taller than you but if that is what you call a tummy you should go check out what a tummy is. Use someone that has a tummy and then see if you will be able to hide it. If you got somebody that is 1.64 meters tall (5feet 4) and weighs 96 kilo's (212 pnds) with all the weight aroud the stomach and belly area! Than let me see you try your ideas on that person. You would be the first one in the world ro tackle this!!!
My favorite video so far! My problem area is definitely the tummy. I realized I naturally do a lot of these tips to hide my tummy so it is nice to hear I am on the right track. Plus I got several new ideas to try out.
Loved this! Thanks Kelly! You look fantastic! It was so helpful to have a person showing us what you were talking about. I struggle as I’m 5’1 with a bust .. I’ve just completely overhauled my denim to high waist! I wasn’t sold & kept remembering the 80’s! Today’s high waisted denim is so modern & nice! Girl I feel 5’7” and so slim in my new high waisted denim! Thanks for the great tips as always!
Shape wear will not make a huge difference. It is subtle. They help keep everything smooth so there are less lumps or bumps under clothing. I think if you watched it again , you would see the difference.
The culprit is the cheap, thin, clingy dress. Cheap fast fashion always cut corners. The most common method is not sewing a proper lining into pants, jackets and dresses. Proper foundation wear is more important than ever. The solution is the slip dress, half slip, and even the leotard! I even have a selection of longer hem panties in black and cream for every situation possible. If Kelly wore a tight fitting body con slip underneath the dress, no more unfortunate lumps and bumps! The dress would cling and wrinkle less and look 1000 percent better. A slim woman would look equally terrible in that same dress.
Corrie Osadchuk Shapeware doesn’t work! Including Spanx. Nothing is more unflattering. I’m not overweight But tried them for toning jiggly bits & some smoothing- It makes me look 10x bigger. I think a looser fitting chemise that drapes over the body is way more effective. Lacy bodysuits or no extra layers For close to cling to unnecessarily…Shapewear shorties makes my butt look like flat, wide, blob- a tremendous pancake lol. & their tank tops...& bodycon slips... don’t even get me started… I think it’s all a sham!!!
I’m not sure if you did something different with your lighting or your camera but the quality of today’s video is stunning. You look especially beautiful in the intro too!
Thank you for using a model, i would love to see something like this but with a lady who has that dreaded mommy belly, hanging skin situation. I feel it's harder to style this body, especially if your body has changed so much and you are not used to it.
I so agree with myozbubble. Kelly does not have a tummy. Are there really under garment that pulls you in flattening your tummy for real (and is still comfortable)?
I wish I could do this all the time. I love teaching and demonstrating concepts. It’s really time consuming to shoot this way, but maybe I can shoot every other month or something like that. Thanks for watching! Erin xo
I'm 50 and though I have an alternative style, I apply most of these tips already! I think you can make this advice work no matter what your style is. Very good video!
She did not say to use a tall model ALL the time. It's nice to have a variety, especially as I feel that tall women are ignored in favor of petites and plus body types.
She's not obese but her tummy was big. It's not body shaming; t is what it is. Any bigger, you should be watching your health. Excess belly fat is dangerous for your health. Nothing to do with vanity.
... And you are rude. She is not a chick she is a woman and her name is Kelly and I thought she did a fantastic job and I thought she had a tummy as well and the styles looked fantastic honor this is a great video!
@@paintpastels9215 Maybe check out the terrific book Body Respect. Myths about belly size and health problems are a popular and effective way for the diet industry to make money .
@@sarah_k_kreative Lol. Visceral fat is not a myth. Maybe you should Google it. I don't care about the diet industry. I overeat and I am underweight. Visceral fat is fat that encases the organs and it's super dangerous for someone underweight like I am as it is for someone overweight. I am not here to body shame anyone. And I am definitely not going to read a book written by a self-proclaimed radical dietician and someone who said belly size doesn't matter. Yes, it does. It matters for your health.
Brilliant tips. Sometimes we go on an important event dinner party and after the certain food our tummy becomes bigger because of bloating. Your tips helps a lot to consider what to wear however we can attend the party not too hungry and eat less or cautiously but still it’s an option to think about it. Also some girls get big belly on their monthly cycle. Thank you Erin. Xx
Kelly looks fantastic! She looked sooooo tiny in that kimono top! So many videos/articles on subjects like this will use a teeny tiny thinner than thin model to demonstrate how to deal with ‘problem’ areas. Thank you for not doing that 😊
Isn’t that too gorgeous on her? Most of the clothes featured were Kelli’s, but I did bring a few pieces for her to try. That was one of them and it looked so great on her, I insisted she keep it! TFS... Erin xo
I have just discovered your channel, Erin, and am enjoying spending time with someone who is so cheerful, perky, and insightful, all in one! Thank-you, and keep it up!
tying a shirt/sweater around your waist looks good in the front, but causes your bottom in the back to now look like a tent or something, why not use a scarf to tie around your waist instead? Also, why are most of the clothes used here black or gray? Can't color be used also?
In order to avoid developing a muffin top, you must engage your abdominal muscles at all times, sitting or standing. To just let your gut hang out all the time doesn't look good, it's bad posture, it results in a bigger belly over time, and it also is bad for your heart. For those people whose mothers didn't teach them this growing up, if you are standing or sitting with company, you should always engage your abs.
I came to the comments looking for the answer to this question as well! There was another mom at my daughters preschool last year who I’d see taking her kid in and out every single day walking on her tips toes. Didn’t matter what shoes she had on, she was always walking on her tip toes! I never felt comfortable asking her but it drives me crazy wondering why... Is it some kind of exercise? Are they trying to look taller? Do their heels hurt? What???
Erin, your videos have been very helpful over the past several months. I'm sure you know you have a growing number of diverse followers from different socioeconomic origins. With that being acknowledged, I am humbly volunteering to represent your urban plus sized followers the next time you're in NYC. We can do a low to high end capsule tutorial. IJS
Thought these were great tips. Well done! May I add another? Buy a well-fitted, supportive bra that lifts the apex of the bustline to the correct height: mid-way between your elbow and shoulder. Creating "space" between tummy and bust exposes more of the smaller ribcage region, visually elongating the torso and making you look slimmer (and more youthful!)
Very incredible job, three hours with her. You can hide a freaking baby hahahahaha. And then you added all that information in the description box. I really enjoyed the video. Thanks to Kelli!
A huge help that looks super stylish is wearing a bunch of long scarves tied together near or just below the bust draping down toward knees over tummy. Tunic was my fav. on this video.
I loved this video and Kelly was a great model. The problem I have is that I'm so short. Kelly was so tall. So do these same tiips work for short girls also ??
It's really important to find what works best for your body. I'd suggest trying these out and seeing if you think they work for you! I'm also planning on doing videos for every body type I can so stay tuned! I just did a video for petites that you can find here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-JyguWQRWxdE.html Those tips might also help you! Thanks so much for watching, Amanda! Erin xo
Extra jeans tip: if you go to the right places, they can have "corset" style waistbands. alternatively, and best of all, you can get jeans with no fly but just buttons. buttons are stronger and better at pulling accross so its like having a cummerbund essentially. also they look unique and you can show off the buttons as a fashion statement
Hmmmmm 🤔 My tummy needs more of a tent! Thanks for the video.... I’m always looking for ways to hide it.... your model looks great. I would love to have her tummy issues 😳
Some great tips and tricks here! Thank you. That said, it would have been easier to see what your model was wearing had she been placed in full light, rather than in the partial glare/partial shadow of the window. I realise that was most likely part of the effect, but yeah... Thanks nonetheless. This was a helpful video.
I appreciate the tips and will definitely take some of these into consideration while shopping. I was excited to hear there would be a model with a midsection problem area. I don't think your model had a tummy problem, but we all have our own insecurities.
Definitely the best hide your tummy video on YT! I’d love to see some tips on concealing an apron belly. I’m sure I’m not the only woman struggling with that. 🙂
Love this! Bravo to your model💛 Could you do more videos like this please? Specifically, for large chested gals 😁 It’s nice to see the tips on the model!
I think this is a great topic and a question I get quite often. Thank you for the sweet reminder. Now, how to approach someone and say... oh hey, big busted woman, do you want to be on camera talking about the girls?? 😉😜 Wish me luck!
I used to watch all your videos but stopped because my body is very different than yours & it made me feel bad about myself. I couldn't pull off most of the outfits you wear. I really enjoyed this video because even though I am not tall I could use some of the ideas. Please do more of this with models of all ages, shapes & sizes.
Girl why do you think I wear so much black? lol I try to hide my butt and stomach. This was just terrific and many thanks to Kelly for being your model! She looks terrific. Lots of love, Melissa
