I dont mean to be so offtopic but does anyone know a tool to get back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the login password. I would love any assistance you can give me
My friend named her daughter Seven because she was a rainbow baby and there are 7 colors in the rainbow. I have seen other women name their child Seven for the same reason here in the U.S.
@@Madison-rose No worries! I'd be happy to explain rainbow babies. A rainbow baby is often the name coined for a baby born after losing a baby due to miscarriage, infant loss, stillbirth, or neonatal death. The idea comes from rainbows appearing in the sky after a storm, symbolizing hope and healing after a difficult experience.
@@SJ_Strum I've seen some people name their kids Otto, Otis and Emerson and say its german. So I was curious as I've only ever met an Otto in germany out of those and it was a grandpa lol Checked Emerson on a german site and it said it's english, then on an english site it said it was german so now I'm confused haha
@@oceanstaiga5928 I believe Otis is an old German name meaning wealthy, though I'd also say Emerson is English, meaning "son of Emery" with Emery being a last name. Otto is an old German name meaning wealthy too, Otis may be a variation of it. Otto is a grandpa name and all three names are rare here for kids lol Chloe and Beans have an Otto, but they're from Australia :D
My brother (who’s 27) is called Otto, our paternal grandmother is German so my mum wanted to use a German name as a nod to that heritage 😊 I do love German names. The pronunciation of Toby is more like Torby which I’m obsessed with!
Salem and Ambrose are both form The Chilling Adventure of Sabrina on Netflix! I've got say Seven is my favorite from this list though. Much love to you SJ! I love watching your videos every Monday
My daughter is now 6 weeks old, I'm actually a bit sad that shes here and I dont need to look for any baby names anymore!! Haha i still watch your videos! We named her Roxana (Rox-ah-na). It means dawn or little star :)
I’ve been so busy these days I’m not on RU-vid much anymore, so exited to watch one of your videos again!! Especially considering just a few days ago, I found out I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby! ❤️
I was wondering if you had thought of doing a video of favourite name from the great British bake off. There been loads of contests, a few presenter and there might be some bakes that could inspire names. Love your videos 😊
@@Julia-yv9jt i love prue! This TV show I watch, this character had a baby girl and called her Pruitt or Pru for short, after their fire chief who died ! Think it's so precious
My name is Imani (ee-mah-knee).... it’s Swahili for Faith. Ermias is the given name for rapper and community activist Nipsey Hussle who was assassinated last year.
In the US the spelling Oakley is much more popular than Oakleigh and Cairo or Kairo are more popular spellings over Kyro. Both are definitely names that have grown in popularity recently.
I've noticed in general from social security data that often the fastest rising names are names that are quite common or popular in poc communities. It seems they often have a flash-in-the-pan moment among a wider audience and then either stay put or slide back down the charts. It's an interesting look at cultural dynamics in the US really.
I know a little girl named Navy. I had never heard it before and was dazzled by it. It fits her so well. Salem has definitely been booming. I’ve met several families with a daughter named Salem in the past few years. Even with the nasty parts of the Salem Witch Trials’ history, the nerdy side of me still thinks it’s cool. 😆
I’ve been a huge fan of yours for a while, I rewatched all of your baby name videos over the last 9 months trying to name my second baby! She arrived on December 7th, her name is Calla Tamsyn 💕 our little flower
CONGRATS ON THE SWEET BABY GIRL🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!! Her name is soooo beautiful!!! I love the name Calla & her middle name has such a unique lovely sound to it!!! Enjoy your new bundle of joy and try to get some rest whenever you can LOL!!! Congratulations Again 🎊🎊🎊!!!
In live in South Louisiana and the name Oakleigh has been on my list forever! I’ve always loved the name and felt it had such a cute southern charm to it! Also a baby boys name I’ve been seeing everywhere here recently is Beckham!! So cute🥰
I loveeeee the name Salem! I’m from the US & I think I like it because it has a fall feel to it & I cant describe why! Maybe because of the Salem witches? It think it makes a beautiful gender neutral name.
I love watching your videos every week SJ. Considering what the world has been through this year, I think it would be cool if you made a list of bay names that mean strength and health or peace and comfort. Like for example, the name Valentina means healthy and strong, Zale means sea strength, and Wyatt means strong, also like Allegra means happiness.
My daughter was born in May and her middle name is Alayah (Alaia), I loved the name Winnie as a first name but decided on Winter Alayah, but we always call her Winnie ❤️
I'm from the US, and I've noticed that most of the little girls (2-7) I know are named Emily, but I know a fair number of Oakleys, and I went to school with two Sevens and a Nayvee!
I am from the United States too and most little girls I know that age are Isabella, Olivia, Charlotte and Ava or Lily or some variation of Lily and Sofia/ Sophia.
@@TheRingette that is a good name for a boy. I like Jerusalem. Could be called Salem as a nickname for a girl. But Jerusalem for a girl, I would spell the other nickname Jeri. I have absolutely fallen in love with the name Jerusalem now. Twins could be Jerusalem and Journey.
I have a 2 year old girl called Elodie Wren and I'm currently 7 months pregnant with twin boys. We have a name picked out for baby a, (Levitt James) but my fiancé and I cant agree on a name for baby b, he hates the names I pick out. So somebody in the comments, help me find a name that is unique and matches Levitt.. because we're really struggling.
hey! I came up with a list of twin boy names to match with Levitt - feel free to browse and get inspiration :) Altin Alton August Ammon Adeo Cedar Clyde Elden Elio Fitz Oslo Orion Oliver Pax Radley Rowan Ruel Luan Leon Landon Luca Lucas Liam Levi Lincoln Leo Lennox Lennie Leland Lucian Lex
@@amaliaowl Thanks for taking the time to make this, it's really helpful! Elio has always been my top favorite but its close to my daughters name so I cant use it. I'll suggest some off of this to my fiancé because I really love them, I've never heard Radley before and I like it a lot, it's going straight on my list. Thank you!!!
Salem, Navy and Theodora are on our list for girls! The boys, I find these all quite soft and lovely whereas I like much more strong and bold boy names!
Hey SJ! Lovely video as always ❤ I'm Greek and in Greece "Atreus" is pronounced "Ah-tre-as" so you pronounced it in a lovely Greek accent😊 P.S: you look gorgeous!!
My little boy was born on November 24th! I names him Theodore (Teddy) David. He was 7pd8oz and 48cm long. It took me 24 hours to name him, Theodore wasn’t even on my list, his middle name was always going to be David, after my father who passed away when I was 16. Theodore means “Devine Gift” or “Gift from God” and David means “Beloved”
I’ve been hearing Salem around hear a lot online! I think that a lot of people have a fascination with witch culture and dark history. My guess is that it’s rising just because people think it’s really cool to be associated with something dark and mysterious. It’s also the capital of Oregon.
I'm American and these trending names are a surprise to me. I've only heard 2 out of the entire list and I find most of them cumbersome in terms of pronunciation. I love unique names with thoughtful meaning but I think my generation (Millennials) and the Gen Z are taking naming a bit to the extreme. I like how Alaiya sounds but not a fan of either spelling. Salem as a nickname for Jerusalem is cute but most people would just think witches and black cats. It's a perfect cat name IMO. Oddly enough, I do like Navy but it is exactly that... odd. Yaritza is really common in the Caribbean - love the meaning but not a fan of the name. The only name is absolutely adore on this list is Ambrose!!!
I named my baby girl Salem this year because i wanted something i didn't think would be popular so you wouldn't have a bunch of kid's with that name, guess i was wrong.
That's what happens. Everyone thinks that and boom! I don't think it'll be popular just more popular than it is now. May not last either. I like it too but I've seen it literally everywhere, same with Navy. They both seem so new and fresh but they're new and fresh to a lot of people at the same time. Beautiful name!
Hi SJ, you are the reason why I'm obsessed with baby names 😊 I was wondering if you could do an updated Hebrew baby name list in the future ❤️ Lots of love xxx
You might want to think about naming a baby Atreus a bit! To save you time googling here is a little summary You mentioned how he was a great grandson of Zeus but in Greek Mythology everone and their uncle is a decendant of Zeus lol More importantly Atreus was the son of Pelops and grandson of Tantalos who both were kind of famous for killing either their own or other people's children, cooking them and serving them to the gods as a meal. Atreus had a fight with his brother Thyestes over the throne of Mycenae and Atreus' wife cheating on him with said brother but Atreus pretended to forgive Thyestes and invited him for a family reunion dinner at which the main course was - you guessed it - Thyestes' own children. That being said there is essentially no completely unproblematic character in Greek mythology and Atreus really isn't the worst out there :D Plus the name does sound beautiful!!!
I’m struggling!! Have watched so many baby name videos...over 31 weeks pregnant and my husband wants me to give him a shortlist of girl names...but apparently 1 name is too short of a list! I’m struggling to find names that I like. Traditional/simple...11 years of teaching has made this task sooooo hard!!!
Oh man. Archibald is high on my list because it is a surname in my husband’s family. But i hope it doesn’t become too popular! Although Archie is different than Archibald. I knew an Eliel in college! His name always stood out to me. I also have Teodor on my list, baby due in April, which is Theodore in Spanish, I don’t know if it will also feel too popular???
Because of Star Trek, Seven is such a girl name to me I could never see it for a boy! I used to have the double-barrelled names "Salem Artem" and "Blair Athene" picked out for years. I'm still fond of them!
The only one I've heard of is Alayia and Navy (country singer Jason Aldean's daughter is Navy Rome). Names that rhyme with Alayia are very popular now! My daughters have class with an Anaiya Alayia & Amiya. 10+ years ago Aliyah was super popular.
These are super fascinating! As an American I can understand Navy, but the others....those exist?!? Crazy sauce, right there! Theodora is also so beautiful, I want to use it myself so bad! I hope my future husband will be flexible enough to handle my ideas of baby names, because I really want to use names like these just as much as I wish I were already married. Thanks for this amazing video, as always SJ!
Ainhoa is from the south West of France, pays Basque ! Very proud People, one of the last regions of France, with Brittany, to still be very attached to traditionnal names in the original dialect of the region. Ainhoa is in Basque langage, and sometimes spelled Aïnhoa. It is very common in the area, but not so much elsewhere.. Really particular to the Pays Basque ! Loooove the name as well haha. They are known to be fierce ladies, with temper ! They can be very sweet as well.
The fact that Seven is a popular name is HILARIOUS to me. In thailand, most people get nicknames when they're born instead of using their formal given names. So many kids are named Seven after 7-11. 🤣
for ages i have loved the idea of classical names like Josephine, Emmeline and Elizabeth and giving them nicknames like Josie, Emmy and Lily as children but when they get older they can use their more ‘adult’ name
I prefer Eliel the way that you said it, rather than the one with 'Ellie' at the start, for a boy at least. The latter sounds more feminine in my mind. Eliel with the 'lie' still sounds soft but has a more masculine sound to it, and had a slightly lilting quality to it I feel. Almost like it could be an Irish name, lol. Really like it said that way, not so keen on the more popular pronunciation personally. Love your videos SJ! Already have names picked out for my future offspring because I watch these religiously 😂😂 xxx
I really like the name Seven. I think it would common for people to misread it as Steven though. Numbers can have so much sentimental meaning as well as numerology meanings, so I think that could be a cool naming trend!
Ermias has come from a much loved rapper from the US called Nipsey Hussle, who sadly passed away earlier this year. His daughters name is Emani so interesting that they are both rising names x
