More on the Shield, Rollins was still NXT champion when they debuted the gimmick. So, when Big E beat Rollins for that belt, he beat Shield Rollins.

Yeah, i remember that. Because nxt was pretaped months in advance, he was a heel on raw, while a babyface champion on nxt at the same time. It wasn't until the new year when the Shield showed up on nxt. Shield Seth defended the belt against Corey Graves (who he'd been feuding with prior). Can't remember if he won, or if it was a dq, but he faced Big E the following week and dropped the belt.

I was there for the Emma/Santino vs Fandango/Summer match. They cut so much out for the broad cast…as I remember Emma Dan Santino kept accidentally tagging in/out and forcing Summer and Fandango to change people for almost 2 minutes before it started (it was cut down) and there was a fantastic gag where Fandango and Santino kept rolling in, then promptly rolling out of the ring to break a count. Easily the funniest match I had ever seen that was not only butchered for tapings, but caused the horrible, forced introduction of Emma on the main roster with Santino a couple weeks later.

Also: when John was in the audience for NXT Takeover, they slid in his chair just before the camera shot so he could be seen “watching in the audience”, then took him out immediately afterward. Pure Television magic

Most of the matches/appearances were dark, only for the entertainment of those in attendance. WWE could have made a big deal about them, but that would defeat the purpose of them being dark.

Something I noticed during this list. The Superstars of yesteryear kind of stopped showing up to NXT around 2013. Almost ten years ago. This reminds me what everyone already knows... WWE isn't creating new stars. Outside of Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Becky and Charlotte..who will be the "legend of old" who shows up out of retirement in ten years? With not creating any new stars, what will WWE look like in ten years?

That Jericho and Wyatt match in NXT started their main roster rivalry. Also Rhyno returned to NXT in 2014 not 2015 also Kendrick wrestled in NXT in 2019. You meant to say that Kendrick and Harland was gonna wrestle in late 2021 not 2012 lol

THIS is why NXT was so good back in the day when it first began beating Raw in ratings. It's kind of maddening to think HHH's idea was taken from him by Daddy Vince and Khan Nick.

@@BmanTheChamp HHH should have learned that nobody but a McMahon is running WWE as an entire corporation and what'll end up happening is Nick Khan will be granted total control of the WWE after Vince kicks the bucket to where he'll sell it off to the House of Mouse who will further liquidate it into some ridiculous woke entity much like AEW is becoming.
