Imagin forgetting that head for a couple of years. You open the frezzer to clean it or you move a box of food and you see that monstrosity staring back at you like "remember me?" Thank you for over 700 likes ;w;
It's probably either from a friend who hunted bear years ago, or he had it the whole time, but got caught up with other orders people requested him to clean the skulls? Who knows.
Deer meat for dinner and white bone are awesome channels cause they say god bless you and give thanks where it's needed. God bless them both and their families
So excited for a new video. This was awesome for twenty years in the freezer. It was good to see all positive comments so far. Maybe folks are coming around. I appreciate what you do and look forward to the next video.
"You owe it to them to put em on your wall, as a sign of respect" Meanwhile, dmfd is getting hate comments thinking he killed a gator just to skin it and turn it into a bag. People are stupid
Wow! I have a Black Bear skull that I found on my great grandma's property that I "cleaned". She is still considered a "greasy" skull. She's not white, but doesn't smell and I'm extremely happy with my end result :)
Are you ever able to save the nasal turbinate with your method, or is that mainly achievable only with dermestid beetles? Either way, your work is incredible. I love collecting skulls and your videos are inspiring me to want to start doing them myself on the animals we hunt.
Awesome video! I just cleaned a boar head that was 16 yrs in freezer. Going to whiten this weekend. Thanks for sharing how you do this. Is helped me, and i'm sure many others, feel a little more confident in doing this task themselves.
Love your videos! Just wondering though, how does long it typically take for a frozen bear skull to boil for you to get all the meat off? Also, how long it takes in general? Thanks in advance! Keegan L, Ontario CAN
Any recommendations for really delicate skulls? I’m talking mice, a pressure wash would obliterate those things and pretty much everything else in the video would as well. Leaving it out? It gets stained and stolen or cracked or lost or rotten. Personally I find dermestid beetles to be the best bet, but what about people who don’t have beetles?
Awesome work, as always! I'll admit that I was pretty surprised to see all of that red meat after 20+ years in the freezer! Also, perhaps you could assist with a question that's been plaguing me for a while now...I know that you mostly work on wild animals, so i don't know if you would know anything about this. Say I wanted to Euro a skull from a horse than was chemically euthanized. Would the sodium pentobarbital that is used affect how you would handle the processing in terms of handling? I know that the flesh from a chemically euth'ed animal is unsafe to eat for both human and animal alike, but I am unsure if it would affect how the flesh reacts to the OxyClean and the peroxide, if at all. Thanks in advance!
Thanks very much! I've learned a lot from watching your work, and I'm eager to give it a go myself. I'll probably start with something smaller and less hard-to-find before I go as big as a horse skull for the time being. :) Have a good one!
Hey brother, wanted to say thank you for what you do and keep up the awesome footage and knowledge. Was able to follow and bleach my bear skull back from Father’s Day of this year. Looking forward to my next harvest and to produce another European mount.
Hey man, love the videos. Your videos have changed the way I boil skulls and have improved my work completely. I have a a question tho. When u leave a bear or hog skull in peroxide over night, do you delete the peroxide or use the 50/50? My pig skulls get white but not what I would like them to be. Thanks alot. Jason from Texas
I wanted to ask, I watch a lot of your videos and I’ve noticed that sometimes when your removing the excess meat it looks really rough. Have you ever accidentally damaged a skull from handling it in that stage? Or is it something you shouldn’t worry about? Could you score/scrape the skull with a knife? Thank you.
Another great video. Question, when you apply the sealant at the end of the process why do you brush it on? Have you tried dipping the entire skull into the sealant? What were the results?
Greetings from Finland, I'm going to get my first bull head today. I'm afraid I can't get similiar chemicals that you use in boiling operation, so I might do it just in fresh water and after I've "spray, spray, spray" the skull clean I add some hydrogen peroxide and boil it one more time. I really love your videos and how you respect all the animals that you operate. I wish you all the best in future!
Great video, great info! I am going on my first black bear hunt in June and want to mount the skull and claws and now I know what to do! Big thumbs up! Thanks
I’m 21 right now. It’s wild to think that that bear is so much older than me. And existed in a preserved state in some freezer for a majority of my life.
