They don’t come much cheekier than Tommy. This 20-year-old bank clerk is a self-confessed shopping addict. In the two years since he started working, he’s managed to land himself with a credit card debt of £14,500, a monstrous debt which is eating up his modest take-home salary of £10,000. Tommy’s passion for the high life has plunged him deep into the red.

I nearly never watched this but I am so glad that I did. This is the best episode that I have ever watched. Not only is Tommy likeable but he took on board all the advice and embraced the difficulties in his past with his emotions and how these affected his spending habits. The respect he showed his mom he didn't whine or blame her and his mom took accountability fantastic! I wish him all the best with the attitude and fortitude he showed I think he will go far in life.

When he as a young Man Chris Kirkpatrick of N'Sync was part of a program where he would get a free lunch because he came from a low income family. His father abandoned him and his mother struggled. he wouldn't eat it. he would work after school and give a chunk of his money to his mother. He got rejected for the backstreet boys but did well in n'sync. Sadly his career never took off like Justin Timberlake's.

One of the most positive transformations I've seen on this show. He's a young lad but he really seems to have taken everything on board and was really serious about getting rid of his debt and getting a better job to facilitate that. He's done far more growing up in his 20 years than some men twice his age. He also seems to have a lot of love and respect for his mother, and isn't afraid to show it. I hope he's doing well for himself now, wherever he is in his life.

Great turnaround, hope he has stuck with it. Credit card debt and student debt couldn't be more different. Student debt has no interest and you don't have to pay it back until you earn over 15k. Credit card debt has awful interest rates! If you ever need to borrow money, go to the bank for the best rate. All credit card companies are awful. Also back then before torys hiked tuition fees it was rarely over 9k for student debt, now the better the uni the more you have to pay 🤢🤢

That one time my boys told me it feels like they were the parents and I was the child, that really hit home n made me feel very awful I drank hard for another week lmao then I quit cold turkey. Spent the same way as a kid As an adult you get panicky when you hear about people who spend outside their means. Like seriously.... how can you go through life without saving anything?

Ahh what a lovely man. All the way through I was thinking he should get into coaching, has the right personality. Hope he and his mum are doing well!

A very emotionally intelligent lad. And he is hot. I am glad that he has turned his life around and is now a millionaire apparently.

Never wanted a credit card, and after having seen some episodes of this show I'm even more convinced about my choice. I have a debit and a prepayed card, and I'll stick with them, much better avoid being tempted. I might be a tad bit drastic, but who knows...
