If I'm not mistaken, this was the Kyle vanden bosch APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION HIGHLIGHT FILM. That Northwestern offensive tackle made Kyle a lot of money on this night!
I look forward to resuming these beatdowns in the near future. Fitz is one of the best coaches in the B1G, though. Hopefully Frost gets things going after a few rocky seasons.
Pretty sure that Dan Alexander rushed for well over 200 yards in this game. The second 200 yard game of the season. However, bowl game stats didn't count yet in season or career statistics. Always thought this ruling was stupid and unfair. If you go back and insert Bowl game stats Mike Rozier actually rushed for well over 5,000 yards in just 3 seasons at Nebraska. Ahman Green would have been over 2,000 yards rushing in the 1997 season. Lawrence Philps would have been pretty close in his sophomore year.
Craver and Grove. What a pair. After what seems like decades of not using special teams as a weapon... I believe the new staff will get us back on track. Groce as a PR was a weapon... He flipped the field many times for the offense. Husker special teams have been a joke for too long.
It’s pathetic Nebraska was in this game . A top ten team who was number 1 for most of the year in the Alamo bowl? Selection committee messed this one up
While they were #1 ranked team for 7 weeks before the Oklahoma game they didn’t finish well. They were blown out by Oklahoma, 14-31, then lost again to Kansas State two weeks later before barely beating Colorado, 34-32 to finish conference play 6-2. Meanwhile Texas had a similar record but finished with 6 straight wins. Similarly Kansas State had a 9-2 record and won the North Division thanks to the victory over Nebraska. Thus Kansas State played in the Cotton Bowl and Texas played in the Holiday Bowl. The Alamo Bowl was the only remaining bowl that the Big XII had a tie-in with and why Nebraska, the #9 ranked team was left playing the #18 ranked Northwestern.
@@kevintemple9890 but yet the problem was Nebraska beat Notre Dame. Notre Dame went to the Fiesta Bowl and got killed. Think Nebraska would of done better against Oregon State
you could make an argument both teams deserved better bowls. Nebraska was too good for the Alamo Bowl and Northwestern probably deserved a New Year's Bowl.
