2000 Dodge Ram Pressure Overdrive Solenoid Remove & Replace 

I just held the spring in the hole with my finder and then slid the other part over it. you may need a small screwdriver to help hold the spring in while putting the housing on if you can't get it with your finger.

My problem was very different than yours. My overdrive wasn't shifting properly. When I went into mine I changed all of my sensors just to be sure. I did come across a couple of issues to look out for. The governor pressure solenoid has to have a click or snap into place when it is installed or it will not work. I ended up having to get another one to get it to work properly. also make sure the bracket that goes around it should be in the right grove. sometimes they come with two different groves so be sure it goes back into the correct one. I believe it should be the grove that makes it go deeper in when installed. I hope this helps. I'm really not a transmission guy so I can't get too tech on this.

My truck was shufting out of overdrive before it should have and then would shift back in to overdrive. After this repair I just made an almost 8000 mile trip with no issue. Hope this helps.
