Hey, thanks man! I have the same exact Jeep, minus the leather interior! I watched your videos as soon as I took my tires off and your instructions were awesome!
I did this exact same thing and it looks great. Only thing is every time I hit a bump in the road I hear what sounds like metal rubbing. It didn't happen until I did the lift. Any suggestions? My local auto shop said it was loos cargo in the cab but it is clearly coming from the rear passenger side. Also while I was braking today the jeep started to shake really bad. It feels like the spring coil is off somehow. Plz help
No theoretically it does not matter where the spacer goes I talked to the manufacturer they confirmed it with me my video is legit I drove it like that for many many miles on and off road with the zero problems or damage
I work in a tire and front end shop. If you're replacing the OEM tire size 225/75R/16 ... go with a 245/70R/16 and everything including the speedometer will function as normal. 265/70R/16 will rub on the front when turning full lock. A minimal amount of trimming might be necessary. If you're able to find 265/65R/16's would work well but, good luck finding them in an offroad tread pattern/rating.
Have a1999 Jeep GCL and I want to fo this mod what was the tire you chose Heard 245 75 16 cuz ot looked really good but how is the noise level and handling.
FYI - if you're installing a Budget Boost lift kit, make sure you check out the installation instructions available on the Budget Boot website. The guy in Rusty's video shows the spacers being installed on the bottom of the coil springs; Budget Boost designed the spacers to fit on the top of the springs. I thought something was not right, when I had to modify the bottom mount to get the spacer on.
It depends on brand I bought some for $60 3inch level kit and they both go on bottom front and back no instructions or nun but other kits like rough country go on different and use a self tapper
hi, i am thinking to put 3 inch spacer. i see you had 2 inches installed. so what do you think about 3 inches ? are they safe to install as you do or do i need to upgrade the shocks as well ? or spacer are just fine for 3 inches ?? thank you :)
on my 99 wj my rear rubbers will not free up ! any tricks ? or would the spacer work on the top side ? also my front mount where the isolator sit in is rotted away where can i buy new ones
does the bottom of the shock (the stock rubber piece) just sit on the spacer? or Is there a bolt or something keeping it all together? cuz I feel like it would not hold together or it would slide off on a large bump?
you like it would be smart to apply an adhesive to the bottom of the spacer both on the front and rear to prevent future movement and or eliminate it all together?
@@1999samtheman The rear has one "Boomarang" shaped upper control that mounts to the top of the differential and then to the body. Yes a lift does strain it a bit.
Do you realize you put the spacers in wrong??? They go above the coil and you should re use both upper and lower isolators. It's not necessary to cut the nub off the bottom either that's for factory location of coil.
Rusty’s should add the lower nub on the spacer as well as a hole in the top of the spacer for the rubber mount for the coil to all fit into. Additionally a taller lower bump stop. When I installed mine there was little room for my peace of mind.
Just so you are aware Rusty’s off-road stated that these spacers are supposed to be on the top of the spring so if your having wobble it’s because the blind is leading the blind do not use this as a reference the only good parts is how to get the spring out and down the rest of the video is wrong the spacers go in the top above the spring thank you sir for making sure I have to spend another 4 house under my truck with my old ass
