Both of the National Lottery draws on 2000 Today had problems, firstly with the video walls getting stuck and then with the balls either coming out in the wrong order or being missed entirely...the first case of the millennium bug?!

From the way the jackpot total is split in half on the video wall in the first draw, it looks like the intention was to have the machine slide out in front of the wall and then it close again. Which is pretty ambitious in itself! Clearly no time to rehearse coming from the same studio as the rest of the shebang.

What a monumental farce. I'm not overly fussed about the odd gaffe on live TV, it happens. But this really is something else. Just embarrassing.

All the camera crew are walking in front of the cameras around the set aswell.

It looks like the whole show was all ambition and no rehearsal. No single person, on screen or off, seemed to know what the hell they should be doing at any particular moment. The level of incompetence was off the scale.

When you consider the lottery had been doing live draws for years it's ironic that this was the biggest blunder of the longest live TV programme the beeb ever did.

What were the winning years from the first Millenium lottery draw? I know the first one was 1986, but what were the other five main years and the bonus year?
