On this episode we feature Joel Grannas from Grannas Racing and his absolutely ridiculous Toyota Supra. In 2019 he set the record for quickest and fastest h-pattern stick shift toyota supra in the world. Now he just broke the record for any RWD stick shift car period... and he's not done yet. The next goal will be to set the overall fastest manual car on the planet when dipping into the 6 second 1/4 mile club.

The implementation of these long style pressure plate adjustable clutches and faceplated trans are really starting to cut ETs down for these manual cars. What a year for stickshift racing. Edit** Can someone correct me if I’m wrong but do these Black Magic clutches originate from Pro Stock drag racing??

the about us on the web page says " Cale Aronson (Owner) is the 2nd generation of Aronson Motorsports. He has spent a large amount of his life learning and living in the shop and around race cars with his father being a former Pro Stock World Champion himself". So you might be right.

I just don’t consider these new clutch setups and other advanced technology a “true” manual transmission. Call me old school but the way the stuff works is VERY close to turning them into “automatic” transmission behavior. The new “slip” clutch designs make the clutch work just like a torque converter by letting the power transfer from the engine to the transmission extremely smooth and helping the car keep HUGE amounts of traction!

ClutchkickPJ how is it more impressive for an Awd manual to go 6s, but not a RWD? Most people would agree that getting a RWD to keep up with a awd on the strip is more impressive, as there’s 2 less driving wheels, especially considering the power output of this car. Someone sounds a bit salty.

Love the car and his passion shows when he talks about the cars he's put so much time in and sure more updates in future. Only issue i have is to me once you remove so much it becomes a kit car as most race vehicles and High performance vehicles are these days and use pretty similar parts...guess i like pushing OE past its limit

Its hard to build a tough manual with a lot of gears, cause you don't have a lot of room for gear material. the T56 magnum has a big case and barely fits in the transmission tunnel.
