This is pointless. My house in Michigan is worth about $250k in 2024. Other houses around here were worth that in 2008. You didn’t say where, and you didn’t say the size of the house or anything else. Just “a house.” 🙄
Saw one the other day. From behind, this car has a serious road presence. It reminded me of 1990 LS400 when it first came out. It looked like a spaceship compared to everything else on the road.
@@dazzledave it’s not only the lights, but the way it appears to be gliding on the road cause of a mixture of things(suspension, smooth streamlined body, width, etc)It’s hard to explain unless u see it in action. Cars that I’ve seen look similar on the road are the Audi A7 and Mercedes S class at times
@@TheDesiDragonI see these all over like everyday and honestly hate the way they look. Reminds me of an Aleve capsule much like the Mercedes EQS. To each their own
@@nolanzachow2443 to each their own I agree but imo the Mercedes EQS doesn’t even come close to looking as good, it looks like an egg or a spaceship pod, and not in a good way
Looks like a normal car while driving, I see them daily in Fort Lauderdale(no resemblance to a rocket ship, they're referring to the performance it delivers).
Fisker rushed their product out because they were losing too much money, and in doing so they killed their company. Making cars is very hard. Reviewers are right to be honest, though. We watch reviews not to be lied to. We want their raw opinion.
9:30 I worked at Lucid way back when... They constantly talked about the foot space. I talked about it when recruiting. I'm so happy you commented on it.
Grilles are always smaller/nonexistent on EVs, that's a no brainer. Much less cooling needed in that area when compared to ICE of the same performance.
@@SupraSav I was not referring to the size of the grill. The grill is stealth and quiet (figuratively speaking) because the "brand" or "badge" on the front is so different in size from (for example) the Mercedes badge. Mercedes decided to enlarge their badge to like 3 or 4 times the normal size it used to be. Some people think it is obnoxious. That is what my comment was about. If it has to do with cooling the engine, I've never heard anything related to that.
As far as I know, it all comes down to the fact that in China, larger grills on cars are seen as somewhat of a status symbol, thats why in recent years, we've seen cars like Mercedes and BMW make the grills enormous, to appeal more to the Chinese market .
Why? Maqrues was always a reviewer that was very positive about everything. Then he did negative reviews of a few absolutely dogshit products and now he's a danger? Come on. He almost never focuses on the negatives or long term issues.
@@lunepool how about you hate on someone else, he's the most honest reviewer on youtube and his the most respected tech youtuber for a reason, he was honest with humane, rabbit, fisker and a lot of other tech and cars we've seen on his channels, you guys love to assume way too much from the comfort of your couch about someone you who don't even know lol.
I like Marques' reviews of tech devices and despite its car reviews are ok, I think there are many others offering more details in a similar length review video. For me these car reviews might be honest, but superficial to the point some conclusions are made without being explained during the video. But no problem: I can understand it since Marques hasn't been reviewing cars for many years, so it might come with time / experience
I test drove a Lucid Air and it was insanely good. Even the regular Air is so fast you will be over the speed limit before you can press the accelerator all the way to the floor. It was top-tier luxury car smooth on the road.
@@DanielSilva-bp2qu Guess m late to the party. I’d thought they were for track cars only due to the noise and harshness. Maybe that’s just how Aston Martin does it! Very loud on the Valkyrie.
You and Marques seem to think sedans should never be tracked. BMW, Mercedes, Cadillac, Porsche and others have been making insanely fast, excellent handling sedans for decades...@@renenowicki
I hope that Lucid is able to stick around and make it through their growing pains. I drove a mid-spec Lucid and it was a great experience. I just worry that they are going to run out of money. 😔
Probably not a good idea to drop a quarter million on a car if you are concerned they won't survive. Get a real car with some historical class for that coin..
Lucid needs to get the grand touring and touring models out for review, if everyone only hears about the lucid with the 150k+ price tag, they might not even consider that they start at close to 70k
@@AndrewPL5 lol ya I def can’t afford. I hear ya, but mostly I mean that I respect that he gives that info right away rather than use it as bait to get us to watch the video longer. A lot of the time someone just wants to know how much it costs and not really care to watch the rest of the video. Just a small thing I appreciate, great video I recommend anyone watch the entire thing.
I really hate this trend of trying to reinvent the door handle. A door handle for a car has a simple function and that's to be able for the driver and passengers to open their door. If my door can't open because the batteries died in the key then I think that's a poorly thought out door as well as a key.
@@AbderrahmaneTaouil bullshit. Execs think people like it. They are all sheep. Powered door handles and actuators are one of the worst trends in automobiles.
Agree! We have a 23 Air Pure and it's the best I car I've ever had. Last car was an Audi S5 and the Pure blows it away (and I loved my Audi). From quickness to the great suspension, highly recommend.
I think Lucid may be more successful by becoming more of an OEM supplier for the luxury and performance car brands. Motors and battery tech seems to be top notch, but they can’t build a car to sell to the masses.
Highly urge everyone to go and test drive a Lucid if you have time. I’ve test drove 2 different trims and each time I was just amazed by the level of comfort alone. If I’m paying upwards of 120k, I expect to have all these features standard, with amazing range as well, and imo Lucid’s the only company that delivers
Holy smokes. I did not expect such a raving review ! Kudos to Marques and the team to also have the stands to say if something is that good that it deserves such a positive review no matter who the manufacturer is!
He got paid for it. And probably not just pennies. Lucia EVs are junk. Everybody knows that. They threw money at him to make an “unbiased” advertising video.
Depends on how you define "advanced". I can get to work and back in my Model S with my feet away from both pedals, and without even making turns myself. That's what I call "advanced".
A few months ago I was heading home on the freeway. It was the end of rush hour so there was some room on the freeway. I changed lanes to my left into the number three lane and out of nowhere I see this car flying by in the number two lane. It scared me because it was super quiet and Ultra fast I thought I was going fast this car passed me like I was standing still. Lucid airs are incredibly fast.
Excellent review. I do not have a Sapphire, but I have driven my Air Grand Touring for a year and a half, and you have to drive it to believe how good it is. Aside from its dynamic capabilities its driving position, comfort, range, safety features, and controls make it a joy to drive daily. Sapphire is in an even higher dimension.in every respect. The designers and engineers at Lucid are brilliant and unfettered by any legacy constraints.
Agree. Love my AGT driving dynamics. Savage Geese gave a strong review for the $69k base Pure model. I have high hopes for this company and really hope to see a 2-door from them.
Highly recommend u test drive one(they don’t let ppl test drive the sapphire tho lol) they’re hella fun. Only downside is that afterwards every car seems shitty in comparison
I love everything about this sedan, it's beautiful, elegant, and minimalist. It´s a wonder piece of engineering, it sounds like they've thought of absolutely every single detail from a driver/rider experience. Nicely done Lucid.
the only thing more impressive than the car, is how you handle the cam. 8:17 is a prime example. At the right time, on the right place. This is so satisfying to watch how smooth you always handle the cam
I was wondering about that too, and I won’t be surprised if Marques uses a fancy gimbal with advanced stabilization, with monitor on the back of the phone, and buttons for quick smooth flips.
I agree, I spent decades in the automotive aftermarket, and LUCID has a great balance of physical and interact displays although their physical components, like their interior door handle, i absolutely love. My only gripe, the standard brake pad friction needs to be upgraded.
@@thathsaraamarasinghe6774😂 LUCID OR TESLA EAT PORCHE OR LAMBO BOYS FOR LUNCH...MY VET GETS EATEN BY THESE EVs ..UNLESS WE GO TWIN TURBO...BARELY STREETABLE MOTORS TO KEEP UP WITH EVs😂
That’s actually pretty close to accurate. The chassis number is on the door sill. I got my sapphire two months ago and my chassis number was in the low 40s. They told me they were delivering another Sapphire about 2 weeks after mine, it had just got there, and it was also in the 40s. I honestly doubt there’s more than 100 Sapphires in the wild at this point in time.
The price of this car is absurd, but it's one of the most beautiful cars I've seen. I understand the Sapphire name and the color, but for 250k, limiting to one color is a little odd.
