Modular > LS. LS's have their advantages, they are cheap to make 1000+hp, they have a pushrod design which also makes them cheap and simple, they have more displacement and are physically more compact which helps with shifting even though they are taller plus it is more it's easy to run just a turbo, but when you want something like 1500+hp, you already need to use Dart blocks or something, you use completely frankenstein heads, in short, it's no longer a GM engine and the value in those numbers is no longer different from a Modular who arrives at these numbers with the Ford stock block, with Ford stock heads. a Coyote for example, even with a stock crankshaft achieves this. Another thing is that Ford transmissions for heavy power and still being used on the street are better, nobody wants to use a Powerglide or TH400 on the street, but using something like a 6R80 is much more versatile and even top speed makes for roll racing and other things. Not to mention the differentials, which Ford differentials are placed in everything at these levels.

turned it up the morning of eliminations after a full night of rain. Anyone that has raced at MIR know the track leaches water but hey thats racing. in order to compete with 700 plus CI engines with my 331ci I has to turn it up. The track wouldn't hold it.

Mario L believe it or not Keith at WonderRacing and Nate Chesler at CRF LLC called out daddy Dave and Larry Larson last year at Pittsburgh Raceway Park and both of them wouldn’t bite. I do not know of an LS in the 5s? I'm hard pressed to find one in the 6s. And neither one would be running a block or heads that left the factory in a production car. Modular Fords have so much more potential. Fact.
