I remember back in elementary school when I took the bus for sole time, there was a group of older girls at the back who let me sit with them. I was a freak and an oddball to all of my classmates, so it felt awesome to have cool girls welcoming me to sit with them. Im now 22 but still remember them.
Definitely miss my old friend "Lilith" Always thought she was so unimaginably cool with her amazing emo/goth style I can definitely understand you on the oddball part, having found someone who doesn't care what the world thinks and just being comfortable with themselves... I recently have been wanting to dress and go back to the 2000's. And when I brought this up to my mom she pointed out that she had so many things I wanted and I found a lot of her old pictures. My mother is slayed
Goddamn amen. I was rushing to get to the future, and now that I am here I find myself with a gaze fixed firmly in the past. Who would have thought the peak of humanity would happen in my youth? Dang man, 2011 was highschool for me. Gonna be real, you didn't miss as much as it seems. I'm sure there'll be a time when young people say "man I wish I was born in 2010-2014 so I could have been a teen in the 20s!" Time is a circle lol I used to wish I was a teen in the 90s

this reminds me of the cool older girl wiho lived across the street from us when I was little. She had a loft bed with a bulletin board, decorated with fairy lights. I thought she was the coolest! This along with the book Judy Moody Goes to College solidified my desire for a loft bed, and I got one as I'd outgrown my little bed at long last. She liked loud music and got tattoos as an adult and her parents love her very much, even if they don't understand her interests.
I was a fetus during this time but I wish I could have experienced it as a teen to young adult, it seemed fun and cool but thats probably cuz my childhood is sprinkled with it, hence the nostalgia lol
I was a teenager in this era, dressed like this, experienced it all and am mortified by how anyone could want this antiquated tacky cheap vibe to come back in style hahah
Some things were way better, other things much worse. Annoying people can be found at any time period though. I got a large dose of nostalgia seeing this though

I really,deeply feel that every girl growing up now needed this type of upbringing. It’s so sad being a girl now Jesus and the world is burning holy shit? Like, it’s just not cute. I want cute I am a girlllieeee I deserve to be surrounded by cute and happy things. But also for my intelligence to not be undermined.

Holy shit people cant actually be nostalgic for the 2000s, right? A high water mark for consumerism, Iraq and Afghanistan, No Child Left Behind, military recruitment in schools. The best you could say about the '00 is that at least if you were a suburban white, things seemed alright.
@FowCowMow well, of course people aren't gonna want to feel nostalgia for the downsides of things, that's why I didn't show the bad stuff that happened in the 2000s and having this nostalgia has nothing to do with skin color, that doesn't even make sense, white people can be this and black people can be that and brown people can be this, skin is just a color, race was made up to separate us, when I look at a white person my first thought isn't "omg they're white, they must be rich". Anyone can be whatever, skin color has nothing to do with anything. It's all about the mind and culture, etc. I'm not gonna get into it. You should know.
