Crazy one for you. Just bought a 2002 Chevy Tahoe Suburban, trouble turning key but eventually does turn, however it won’t crank until you put the e brake down slightly. Then when you drive up to 10mph you get a constant door ding.
Please make sure your battery is completely corrosion free. I thought my starting problem was the solenoid. Checked the side mount battery connections. Only the positive had some. I did not think it was enough, but cleaned and all was good after that. Simple fix.

I have an issue with my '03 Silverado 1500 blowing the 40amp Ignition fuse as soon as I try to crank the truck over. I changed the ignition switch and the starter relay but no luck.
After installing a used tranny & hooking everything up, on my 2000 silverado, it would not start. After checking everything over I noticed no power to the neutral safety switch. I found a blown crank fuse. Then I realized that every time I plug in the safety switch & try to start it, the fuse blows out. I installed a new switch & it does the same thing. I checked around the tranny to make sure no wires were pinched between the tranny & engine. With the plug off the safety switch the fuse doesn't blow out. never had this problem before. wth?
So I decided to check my fuses and pulled them all out replaced 1 or 2 and then went to start it up to see if gas gauge works cause it never worked but truck just cranks all i did was change fuse
Hello, it worked, turned on giving it power to #87, but I have changed the relay and it won't work, only if I give power to #87, what could be the cause? What else should I check?
2001 Chevy Tahoe here, I’m able to supply my own power to the crank fuse whilst keys are in the on position and it will turn over like it’s supposed to.. what am I missing here? I’ve replace ignition switch/harness. Nothing…what options do I have here? Debating on making like some Kind of kill switch / push to start lol.
My chevy suburban was having problems starting, then it wouldn't start at all no nothing. I noticed the orange wire that is attached to the gear shift had snapped. I touched the broken ends together and turned the key and it started. I guess the orange wire was in the process of snapping that caused the starting problems and when it finally snapped it caused the no start. I spliced the wires back together and used some liquid electrical tape and I haven’t had any problems since. That could be your issue.
Question, the started doenst turn uncles I put my own connection into where the relay goes, that’s the only way the starter will turn , any ideas how to fix this, i swap the relays and that didn’t fix it
How could i troubleshoot why my kids truck will randomly just start cranking on its own? Already had a shop replace the starter/solenoid so thats not it. Right now we have to plug in starter relay (starts cranking) then turn key to start postion, truck starts, then remove the relay and it keeps running just fine.
I have a 96 k1500 when I first got it I had to wiggle the starter cable if it wouldn’t start. I’ve replaced the relay under the hood, took off the starter cable and cleaned it up there’s no damage to it anywhere but my truck will only start if I jump the solenoid what should I do?
So my truck will crank when it's cold without a problem I drive it for an hour turn it off go to crank it won't start when it cools off cranks right back up can you help me ?
It Christmas my sister now has two cars down chevy Tahoe now has a battery issue. She plug in a led charger cord for phone went into mom's came home and battery will not start.
Man I need some help bro. I have no crank checked everything you said plus changed starter. Still no crank I did replace relays and fuses just in case but still nothing. I am stuck on the side of the road. Any help please. I have a park position switch that fell out of my column and I can't get it back in. It's gray with 2 wires one green and black

What could be blowing the ignition A 40 amp maxi fuse when I try to start the truck , I replace the fuse it starts, I let it run for 30 minutes with no problem, I shut it off go inside for about an hour then come out try to start and the fuse blows
So I had a key made at Walmart just to be a door key… well it turns out that somehow it started my truck so I have been using that key for a week now w/o any problems. Today i locked my keys in my ignition and had to slim Jim in and push unlock button to gain access inside. After doing so I got in and my truck wouldn’t start. Just acts as if the starter don’t work but I know its fine. The security light is flashing now as well. If I run direct power to the 10 amp fuse inside it don’t try to start either. Just a ding from Interior. But if I run power to a spot where the relay goes it cranks but sounds real weird and don’t actually start up. Lots of info I know but I’m at a loss and stuck in some parking lot. Anyone with any ideas on this weird situation help me out? Already did the 3x10 min off/on deal to reset security but did t work. HELPPPP plz.
