Great video Dave. It's crazy but there are so many people out there that just ride and don't even worry about the suspension set up. Glad I found your channel so many years ago.

An excellent example of stiction! Too many riders neglect their front forks.

Typical Monster issues-my S2R was bottom out on the forks (trackday riding and getting faster), and the rear shock was to less in compression damping and spring ratio for my weight. Cartridge from Andreani with linear springs for the fork, and a serviced s4r testastretta shock absorber for more setup possibilities. New spring included. Totally different bike afterwards, especially on the trackdays 😎🤘

@@catalystreactionsbw thx Dave, i‘ve had a lot of your videos reviewed and in the past your app helped me out several times understanding the different forms of tire wear..Pirelli Supercorsa SP V3 are now working perfectly on trackdays - thanks for your experienced infos 👍

I've see only 3 forks of this type. They have a huge amount of sticktion by design (flaws). Skf seals and grease are band aids. Reprofiling/modernizing the inner tube bushing land is better solution. Or simply wait that the outer tube coating get trashed and the free play become huge (that happens very quickly)

Hello Dave, I love your videos. I promote them to everyone. Using you're videos i fixed sticking forks and much more. I have 2 questions. My 5W in forks bottems out when rebound and compession are almost fully turned shut. I hear you say 15W oil a lot, will this help getting more control back in the middle of the setting range? And do you have any experience with yss shocks? My bike, a GSX-S 1000. Thanks for the time and greetings from Belgium.

Thank you for your kind words and paying it forward! 10w for the GSX-S forks with an oil height of 110mm. Yes, I have been very impressed with YSS products in the last 18 months having helped many riders with this product on several bikes.

some of the non adjustable ducati forks of that era have massive amounts of low speed damping in both directions, and the forks just don't move very much at all, or respond.
@catalystreactionsbw

Hence we switch viscosity of oil to allow more compliance and faster oil movement.

I've had slightly bent bars from motorcycle transport when the tie-down has been too aggressive through the lower triple tee/bars.
@catalystreactionsbw

That is unfortunately too common for motorcycles as transportation specialists are used to securing a car.

Awesome video as always Dave! I know it's a bit out of context but I wanted to ask your advice regarding tire pressure on a KTM 890 Duke. I'm running Mitas Sport Force Plus Evo,so a hypersport tire that is also suited for track use. My weight is 80kg with gear,and i commute with 2.3 bar front and 2.5 bar rear,I wanted to ask you what could be a good baseline pressure for weekend shootouts on the Alps(about 300km a day). I was thinking 2.3 front and rear what's your opinion on this? Thanks in advance. Btw, I learned a ton from your videos on your site,so much that I started doing setups on my friends bikes and they are extremely happy with the results! You are a true gem in the motorcycle community!

Thanks for your kind words, they are greatly appreciated. You need to be aware of the altitude! I do not know this brand nor have any experience working with these tyres. Email me with pictures of the front and rear so I can see the current wear and that will guide me on pressure recommendations.

Maybe the sticking fork is twistet during the crash

Great question! After the class, he took the fork and triple clamps off for review. All were correct.

That was filmed in February of this year. Next NZ trip will be Feb 1 to March 10 next year if SSU is funded for 2024.
