2000 F150 Lariat 5.4 Triton 4x4 off road edition, 200k miles. Engine sounds new just got me from Cali to Fort Worth TX, non stop. Then Texas to Tombstone AZ non stop. Then Tombstone AZ to OC California non stop. Then to Sonora Mexico San Luis Colorado non stop and back to California non stop. only problem I ever had at 180k miles was the cylnder 8 spark plug ejection. The engines in those years are bullet proof!
I have a 2001 f150 crew cab love this truck 5.4 triton is the best good low end torque engine and keeps running and running 2 valves were the best 258,000 miles and still a smooth reliable truck
Yea man, One of my coworkers was talking about his brand new F-150 that probably broke his bank to get. That ain't the kicker; he went on to say that he has to take it to the dealer to get the oil changed, because it requires special tools ? Wow I walked off hopped in my super crew 2001 and smiled All the way home. ...
I have the exact same truck and she's a beast. But it never goes past even 3000 rpms when I exhilarate up to 60. I never floor it. She's got 185 thousand and other then the typical repairs and replacements parts of an old truck in the north she's quite as a mouse and runs strong. I hope to get 250. She's been dependable and its a great truck.
