Engine bay looks good.. sounds nice.. I just bought a 2001 roush stage 1 V6. Im swaping my 418w stoker into it from my 93 fox GT. Hopefully it will be done in about a month.. Keep up with the videos..
welp, just made my decision on an engine swap. day one of being poor and saving money. Beautiful build man. Love how youre keeping it a sleeper look. I'd never expect that. :)
thanks everyone for all the great feedback. When the weather gets nice here in washington I will do some more videos, should be around August haha.. We are going to go from 3:73 gears to 4:10's and redo the exhaust with 3" pipes from the headers back with an X pipe and FM super 44's in June.
Very Nice! This is a production 2 bolt block correct? I did go the 4.3 stroker turbo route and built my own turbo kit. Best pass to date with the car was 7.23 @ 101mph on 15psi letting off the throttle a little due to nerves lol. I don't blame you for the swap. A lot of work to make my v6 fast.
I'm remember when I owned my 03 stang it looked the same as yours in this video when I sold it 2 years ago .. Biggest mistake of my life I regret selling the pony now I'm looking to purchase another one same color same year if possible . Nice mustang keep it up - UTAH STANGS
Great Job.i read all Your comments. they helped Greatly. We have a 99 v6 auto. dropping a 85 302 e303cam. We went with a new AOD with internal out of a newer trans supposed to handle 700 hp no Prob. dont have to worry about that its a ford we are hopeing for 340 hp. and a 2800 stall. Glad to here You didn't have to switch k member. Thanks again. Kevin Mahoney
Great build! I own a 2000 V6 and was wondering do you know of any bolt ons I can do to improve performance. I already put on a cold air intake and changed out the stock ignition coil to a msd 48,000 volt. I plan on dual exhaust one day for sure. I'm on a real tight budget so any advice would be helpful. Thanks!
i did a 351w swap in mine and i only have battery and oil pressure to work. i put an after market temp gauge and the speedo, tach and gas gauge do not work. the car was already prept for a v8 swap so i dont know who wired the gas pump to work but im guessing they didnt hook up the gauge
Great video. Got your self a new subscriber. You show your car without bragging and over you have respect. You also help others like mee! Other Chanel's just like to show off and be selfish not your. Thanks man.
Wish I had the money to mod my mustang I got a v6 99 78,000 miles for 2,400 .I'm starting with putting beast pypes exhaust ...but a whole engine swap would be loooooovvvvvvveeee...nice car brother...I'm inspired
Dude this car is fucking amazing!!! 98-04 are my favorite style of mustangs I wonder do regular gt owners be like ''that's a wanna be gt'' then you show the the gold under hood. anyways great video bro
Thanks man! I was going to buy a 2009 Super Snake and had the price negotiated and it boiled down to... I like my body style I have and the car was paid off. This new 5.0 that came up behind me once a few weeks ago..tried to get a little frisky...he backed off quick...hahaha
Sweet build man, the engine sounds lovely! Where did you get those rims from? I want the 18x9/18x10 staggered deepdish setup on my 2003 GT, but it is hard to find a set for a decent price with both the front and rear deep dish rims.
Hey, I will be doing some new videos in the next few weeks. Had a fuel issue that we are taking care of. Found a new shop and we are doing some different tweeks to the car. Its going to be fun this summer......
Jared Hughes Question I have a v6 94 auto with a blown engine just sitting and a F 150 with a 5.4 trition just sitting and I want to put the 5.4 in the 94. Will the auto AOD-E (if built) can handle it?
+Jared Hughes no need to worry about the check engine light bud. when you do swaps like that its natural for it to be on because of the PC. you swapped it from FI to carburated so all the sensors that the PC normally reads on the FI setup is no longer there so it's gonna read a problem. at least I'm pretty sure that is the reason why. Great build though.
Thanks! I have actually watched your videos many times! haha... I just didn't have the cash and the knowledge to do it all and it would have been a lot of money.. It is a 2 bolt. The block is actually a 1972 302 boss block. great slip times by the way!
Beautiful Mustang, thank you for posting the video of it. Looking into doing a swap myself like this in the feature. Subscribed, please keep making videos of your mustang!
Jared Hughes Seriously please do so brother! I`m planning on stroking my v6 to a 4.4 and turboing it. Was considering doing a 351 swap but I want to work on the 6 and have a badass v6.
Love your build dude! I'm actually debating on doing an efi or carb 5.0 swap in my 97 v6. I was wondering since your car also has a v6/4.6 k member did you have to swap it out for a 94/95 or did the engine just bolt right to the stock k member? also did you keep your a/c? if so did the stock lines work or did you have to get a/c lines from a v8 car? thanks
I can't wait for your next video!! Great swap.that HP and sound.. I was going to do an engine swap myself but after I found out how much it would be to swap even for just a v8.. Im taking the easy way out and buying a 2012 gt ha. Let me know when you upload your new video, wish I can modify my car like that! Better than my plain bolt ons ha.
Looks like your tire and wheel set up Ian nice doesn’t look like any of your wheels sitting out further then the other like most mustangs have a issue with, then again it’s not lowered
I do want to criticize one thing. Id get a different rear bumper. Mainly the V8 style that has the exhaust tip cut outs. I just could never enjoy looking at this style of mustangs that didn't have them. Other then that, sounds great and looks great. Paint appears to be FLAWLESS, though silver does hide a lot more than any other color
The hood not closing all the way would bother me personally. It would look a bit better with a very slight cowl so it can close with the carburetor, but it would take away the "aww man your car doesn't look tough" type thing :P but anyway your car sounds great and looks smooth great job on that
What kind of bell housing are you running? I just did the same swap and used a 164 tooth flywheel with the original V6 bell housing so I could run the 11” clutch and something is hitting and making a tapping noise. I had to shim the starter because it was too close but nothing on the starter is hitting.
Going to do another video tonight in my garage. Car just got tuned, adjusted and sounds really good. Just did rear seat delete and I ended up doing some plastidip about a month ago...
wondering how they got around with the ecu? I have a 97 mustang gt, can't afford a new 4.6 mod motor, so I'm going 363 or 393w. I am currently running a e85 fuel system. I have a PA c4 transmission, 8.8 tabbed up with spool and 4.10. so, great platform to start with, just wanted to what I need to convert to one of my engine choices.
Hi, nice car..! Mine is v6 too and that same color! Im about to do the same thing, but, im going to do all the work myself... I was wondering how you make all the factory gauges works... What harnness and computer dis you use and from what car you take everything..? Thanks!
***** Actually I did change my mind, a 351w Dart block can be bored and stroked to 461ci, a lot better than the 460 block, lighter and more parts to choose from. As for the Modular motor it can indeed produce big numbers but with big boost that requires crazy fuel system and perfect tuning so things don't go down the oil pan!
Sharp car for an old V6! With the exception of the headlights (I know you said you were changing them) and the front springs. Lower the front just a bit and she would be perfect!
Well, we've had little issues here and there that we have had to tweak. Just blew a head gasket two weeks ago and that was from a fail in the radiator. No damage at all to the heads or anything. Having new exhaust and going to an X-pipe installed as I type..I'm running straight pipe to super 44's..those are new as well...
sweet, I have a 95 GT and a 2000 daily driver with almost 300,000 on the V6. Thinking a stroker or possibly a 390. Tell me your thought if you have time. thanks
I haven't looked into the 347 stroker kit much but did you have it bored out? Which distributor are you running? Still running the stock electric fuel pump with a pressure regulator? Was the engine bought as is or did you get a junkyard donor and build that up? I love these old carburetor 302s a lot. Thinking about getting a 97-01 F150 and dropping one in since I despise the Ford Modular engines. As much as I love manuals I can't drive them at all not even to save my life so I'd be going with the E4OD with 4R100 parts.
Ratkill9000 The block is a 302 Boss thats been balanced and bored. Running a MSD Pro Billet distributor and coil. No, on the stock fuel pump. Removed factory pump from inside the tank and installed an outside electric pump. The block was bought bare and built from there.
What do you have to do with the computer and all when you swap with a v8 and carb setup? I'm very curious. I've wanted to do this but I have no idea what problems will arise.
Jared Hughes Thank you! My torque Converter started to make a Whirr sound so looks like i'll be getting a different transmission after all. Still very useful information
Very nice Mustang. Still, I'm puzzled. Is it practical to go back to push rods when '01's had overhead cams? Anything '96 and up is OBD2. In my state (NY) they plug the OBD2 port into a computer and send a report to our state capital that you passed emissions. How do you do that with push rods and a carburetor? Still, nice Mustang.
Amazing builld, hats off, u didn't talk about the trans in the video, what trans? Did u use the stock that came with the v6? And if so what did u do to handle the power?
the T5 transmission that comes with V6 in this model seems to be holding up just fine. We talked about replacing it and probably will... but so far so good.
Hey Jared. Nice build man! I've been thinking about going with an old school setup myself, I think it would just be unique. I've got an 03 GT with bolt ons and gears, i used to live in WA and might end up there again and I'm wondering if you could give me a price range on about what the swap cost, just as far as the buying and installing the engine goes. My current engine has 167x on it LOL so I'm looking for my next move.
Hey thanks a ton! old school is very unique for sure and I love it. My builder did the build from bare block up. all local here in Kelso and the swap for $11,000 . I think I've said before $10,500 but since I looked and its like just shy of $11,000. that included doing a conversion from a V6 EFI to this motor, exhaust, headers...everything. You can buy crate motors with my same HP from anywhere $7500 and up...so i got a screaming deal and its local and he really is good at what he does...
Jared Hughes Right on. Yeah damn that's still some coin to be dropping :) I can't decide what route to take with the thing, its been my daily for 7 years and been a great car overall but I'm going to get something more practical for daily driving and then think about the direction I want to take with the GT. I like the 03 cobras to (the terminator), I've thought about buying one of those quite a few times and I've also thought of trading up for a vette or T/A or just finding a fresh 4.6 or rebuilding mine once I get a good daily driver and throwing headers and cams on it while its out and then doing some suspension work and eventually supercharge it...it wouldn't be as unique but it would be cheaper than 11K wouldn't it? Plus I could always convert to carbarator and cut a hole in my hood and have a blower or air intake sticking out right?!!? HAHA
