Just an FYI for someone who has a full tank. Pull the fuel filter off from the tank side and use the fuel pump (if its still working) to drain the tank.

You could have unhooked the line on the motor an jump the pump relay to drain the take ... I have done it many times

Why didn't you pull the bed then the tank since it leaking gas so bad. Question.

01 S10 4/4, four dr.model can you lift the bed to pull fuel pump? I noticed that part of the pump is directly under the cab.

I would think a much easier way of doing this would be to either completely remove the bed and then take out the fuel pump or at least loosen the front bolts and tilt it up. That would allow you to pull out the fuel pump and remove all of the hoses and electrical components as well as drain the fuel, making removal or the tank itself much easier and safer. Looking at having to do this job myself soon and that's probably how I'll do it.

I don't think you mentioned that there is 4 nuts on the back of the 4 bolts to the front brace. I cannot get anything back there to hold the nut so it just spins had to cut straps to move the tank over to get to them... tha
