We appreciate the effort your making....Truely
I know it's been a while since these videos came out but how is the TL doing after the brake job? Are they holding up and braking is superior to our oem rotors? I'm planning on doing the job myself as your vids are really helpful. I've done a few of the upkeep on my Acura because of your vids. Great job!!!
allan malbog Funny thing is, I was thinking about this yesterday and how I wish I would have had the original rotors resurfaced or purchased genuine Acura/Honda rotors. The ones I put on in this video warped quickly after they heated up and a couple hard breaks. The quality lacked in the Callahan rotors, looked cool, performed terribly. Glad these videos have helped!
@@chriswilson3964 no his dumb ass had to go back and fix them BC I had to after listening to his ass you got to have them two scwers in BC thats what holds your rotor from rubbing on your brake calb
2002 acura tl type s front wheel drive My car shakes whenever I brake so that means my rotors are warped. Would I be better off changing my 2 front or all 4 of them? The back breaks are fine since they're only used for e brake.
Without physically being there to see, I can't recommend one way or the other. I typically replace everything at one time to get it done and to know everything is in check. You could take the front rotors to be refinished and they will take the warp out. You have to keep within width spec which they would tell you. Take them off and bring them in and it should only be $50 +\- $10.
+Chris Wilson well I recently replaced the brakes myself and before and after the brakes were changed the car shook. With the new brakes the shaking is more noticeable.
+Jarmahent Definitely rotors, your two options are replace them with new or have them refinished. Personally, if you replace them, I would do them all. You probably can get away with doing just the front but that's just me.
Yes you can but recommendations would be using a jack on the main frame under the engine to lift the two front first, placing support jacks and easing then down. Some screws can be locked or rusted and balancing the car safely is important. I'm not a fan of lifting just the drivers side front and back because of safety.
Yeah, I noticed that, too, unless he has another on the driver's side. But that is the standard issue Acura jack, if I'm not mistaken. He was careful not to budge the car, and seems more professional than others, so I maybe he wasn't worried?
