I own a 2002 TL Type-S My lenses were dreadfully oxidized (again), and had already been resurfaced twice. So I finally decided to bite the bullet and do a full lens + bulb replacement on both sides. I did the full bumper cover removal and did both full lens housings, all bulbs, and both ballasts. The ballasts with igniters were $62 for the pair and came with 6K bulbs, the lens housings were $150 for the pair. Took about 90min, was tedious, but doable solo. I happened to have the security-torx bit in my tool arsenal for the bulb caps, so that wasn't a problem. $230 including shipping and I have *beautiful* new lenses and bulbs. I did have to properly aim-adjust them once done, but I expected that. Acura wanted $1800 to do both sides. I told them to pound sand.
I didn’t gene have to take my belt off mine snapped!!😃 just went out and bought an alternator because I thought that was my issue, turns out I got a missing serp belt🤦♂️😂FIRST TIME IM WORKING ON MY CAR HERE GUYS, should’ve actually idk maybe inspected to see if my belt was even on there before I bought the alternator but hey ya live ya learn
Just did this on an 02 TL Type S with 182K miles. I didn't take off the timing belt cover. I took off the alternator electrical stand, moved the electrical out of the way, I removed the oil dip stick, I stuffed the hole under the bolt with a paper towel in case I dropped the screw to catch it. I used a skinny 10mm wrench closed end with a slight bend. It only gave me a few degrees of rotation to take a long screw out so I was very patient. It's a bitch of a job but certainly doable with the right wrench and can do attitude. I think a short 10mm closed wrench might work even better.
Thank you sir you made this super simple for me. I was surprised to see my filter was barely dirty considering I've had the car 6 years and never changed it once lol. And I do all my own oil changes and stuff so I know it wasn't changed at a shop or anything either.
@chriswilson3964 So I got to the 3rd spark plug and the head of the ignition coil just fell off. The rest of the coil is stuck in there. Any suggestions how I could remove it?
If your wheel is torqued appropriately than there really is absolutely no need for these retaining screws if you do a Google search and might tell you that not having them could result in vibration but that's absolute nonsense
Dude that’s some legit bad ass motherfucking shit like thank you I fucking needed that because I did not know and yes my battery is more than dead it’s been tampered with and I can’t get my phone and I don’t know how getting in my trunk is going to help me charge my battery but I mean fuck I don’t know what anybody could’ve done to my car to Brenda it completely powerless new locks no key fob works no headlights no interior and nothing nothing no power the connections are good the it’s been attended be jump twice and fucking looks like a new battery and it was only works in your trunk is open from the hours of like 6 AM to 3 PM So I’m getting the trunk helps that none of that wanna do something so thank you
Thank you! I had this video up while replacing mine on the 02. Been fixing a lot of smaller issues on my own thanks to videos like these. No more getting scammed by the mechanics lol! Almost at 200k miles, keeping her going as long as I can.
Hi I put something valuable in the right storage area of my trunk. I accidentally pushed it forward when trying to get it. Is there anyway it could of fallen out?
Hi I have a question, I've been reading everywhere that when you do break pads you need to resurface the brake disc, Is this true?? I didn't see you resurface the brake discs did this affect your driving in any way?? Also how can you check if your bake discs need resurfacing???
